Our family recently had a cracked water line in our basement during a cold Michigan winter night. We woke up with a complete malfunction of our tankless hot water heater. We had water all over our basement, no hot water throughout the house, and just a few days before the New Year holiday. It was panic time since we had an absolute mess on our hands in our basement and no plumber lined up. We were at risk of things getting much worse if we didn't get someone out right away. Silva Mechanical were super busy, but promised to find a way to squeeze us in by the afternoon. By mid-day on the sameday they showed up to identify the problem. You could tell their professionalism right on arrival. I own a service company so I look for the small things. First, he showed up in a work van with his logo on it as well as a uniformed shirt. Second, he slipped covers on his boots before entering the house to avoid tracking snow in the house. Third, he spent time educating me on what caused the problem and offered multiple options on how to solve it. It was clear he was knowledgeable, knew his business, and took pride in his work. He set us up to make it through the night with working water and returned the next morning to make the full repair. The following morning, it was same technician who returned. He delivered on all of his promises from the day before. He even put carpet shield on the staircase to avoid tracking snow throughout the house when he made trips out to his work van. He replaced our tankless water heater. I tried to stay out of his way, but I am nosey and ended up checking in on him multiple times while he was working. He was great and even taught me a bunch about what he was doing along the way. He was the kind of guy who took great pride in what he did and loved educating his customers. The quality showed in his work since the tank installation looked great, with him even putting diamond plate behind the unit. But more importantly, the functionality was a major improvement with the new system getting us hot water to all our faucets faster. He never seemed bothered by all my extra questions. His pricing was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Great quality, good price. Eric inspected the house, made a thoughtful plan, then suggested a solution, he even identified some issues that other plumbers didn’t notice. He is extremely neat and tidy and I would highly suggest him.

On Friday morning while trying to get ready to take my one year old to his Gymboree class we realized that we had no hot water. We quickly began calling around because we knew that if someone didn’t come on Friday that we’d probably be without hot water for the rest of the weekend. This part of the process was very hard because we called at least 15 companies and none of them serviced tankless water heaters and when we did finally find two companies, they no showed on us, in came Eric! He showed up Friday evening and helped us to diagnose the problem which was related to a gas issue. After the gas issue was resolved and we still had no hot water Eric was there for us again! He came right back out again, during the blizzard and on a Saturday!, and tried for hours to find us the part locally but when he couldn’t he over nighted us the part. Once it arrived he was here within an hour to put it in for us! He was so understanding and you can tell that he genuinely cares about his customers, I mean he came out here 3 times in only a few days and during a blizzard! He is very knowledgeable in his field and his pricing is very fair. You’re a lifesaver Eric and we can’t thank you enough!

Eric was a class act. Came out on a Sunday morning at no extra cost. Fixed my leaking tankless water heater, brought it up proper code, educated me on maintenance and all at a fair price. He was awesome and I plan to continue to use his service in the future.

Let me tell you something, this man was a lifesaver. Literally! We just thought we needed a water heater cause it was old and he noticed the new one wasn't getting enough gas, surprisingly enough our crawl space was leaking gas! He took it upon himself, worked all day to solve it and not only I have fresh hot water I don't have to worry about getting blown up to kingdom come!

Eric was great! I have a tankless hot water tank at my salon that I had another company come out and service about 7 times...when Silva Mechanical came they fixed the problem the first time. I haven't had any problems and the owner periodically checks to make sure I'm not having any issues. They are also far in there pricing. This is the best service I've ever received.

Awesome!!! We filled out an inquiry on Home Advisor and Eric contacted us immediately, despite being a Friday night. He communicated via text after the initial call, which was very convenient!!! By Sat at 8:00 am, he was reaching out to set up a time frame for the job, that day. He was there when he said he would be in the afternoon. We went with a tankless water heater and he said it would take 4-8 hours to do the work. It took exactly 6 hours from the time he pulled into the driveway and pulled out of the driveway. Silva Mechanical was priced great and Eric made the whole process painless! He also cleaned up his work area perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone who wants professional plumbing done for a good price.

We've worked with dozens of contractors over the years. Eric is the best - hands down. Our Navien boiler blew up one day and Eric came out after hours the same evening. There were a lot of issues for an 8 year old unit so he called the manufacturer and got us a replacement unit on warranty. He came back 2 days later and installed a temporary unit for us to use as the replacement was still being shipped from overseas. We used that temp unit for an entire month... all of this without charging us a dime. Eric then completed a full swap replacement with complex re-plumbing job in 1 business day. It took the installer of our first Navien months to do the same work. Words that come to mind that describe Eric are: integrity, earnest, honest, ethical, professional and expert. Do not pass go. Hire Silva.

Eric seems to be a man on a mission to single handedly root out other people's botched installations. He came by on short notice to diagnose an issue with our tankless water heater. In no time did he have our replacement unit ready and the workmanship of the installation is incredible. Eric restored my confidence in the "professional tradesman". I wish there were more like him out there.

Follow up six monts after install ...system works well and Eric conducted a follow up inspection and maintenance free of charge as promised. Five stars indeed.

In the middle of winter our boiler went out, I called the boiler manufacture who recommended Silva Mechanical. He was at the house and worked with my wife flawlessly, his passion for the work he does is truly impressive. We had relatively newer equipment in the house that was improperly installed, Eric took the time to educate and create a real solution to the problems. We hired him to come and reinstall a complex water heater system once the boiler project was complete. Writing this a few months after the project as we are still thankful and really happy with their work. Highly recommended!

If you are looking to get a tankless water heater, look no further than Silva Mechanical. About a year ago, my traditional hot water heater needed to be replaced and after hearing about tankless ones, I started looking into it. One of the things I learned was to stay away from the big box retailers, they are not equipped or knowledgeable enough (as they outsource their services and they have limited experience with tankless, in my experience). The sales team was good, but when they came out to my house to prep, I quickly learned it was not going to work. I continued calling around and talking to others who regularly install tankless, I spoke with Eric who was both professional and able to answer my questions. On the day of the install, Eric did an incredible job installing and you can tell he takes great pride in his work (it speaks for itself). I also appreciated that Eric recommended (didn’t force) putting in a re-circulation loop to our master bathroom which is on the other side of the house (to ensure we didn’t have to wait a few minutes for the hot water to reach us). While I originally intended to write this review earlier, I was glad that I waited almost a year, as I can further say how glad I am that we went with a tankless and that Eric installed! To not worry about no hot water has been incredible and a daily reminder how great it is to have a tankless water heater.

It has been a few years since the original review of this operation (see below) and since then we have sold that house and purchased a new home. The home came with a tankless system but it was getting old and did not circulate the hot water through the pipes. House is a ranch and it took a VERY long time for hot water to get from one end to the other. I called around locally to see about replacing the system and installing circulating piping. All the local quotes would install a circulating system by sending the hot water though the cold water pipes. That made no sense to me other than "cheap". So I finally decided to call Eric and see what he would do. He quoted exactly what made sense. New piping for a recirculating line. His quote, even with that additional work was about $1000 lower. So this was a no brainer. The installation went smoothly. It has been about 6 months and everything is running smoothly. I highly recommend everyone call Eric. The price and the quality of work is superb.

First class installation job. Yes, he ran into some problems but he made sure we were never without water. He addressed the problems and we have a great tankless system. I was a bit concerned about water pressure and temperature with a hot water on demand system. If you are concerned also, don't be. They are great. I highly recommend Eric for the installation. One man operation that did a fantastic job. And price was very much in line with the other quotes I received. I went with Eric because he did a better job of explaining everything and I didn't have to wait two weeks for a quote to arrive. I highly recommend Silva Mechanical for your water heater installation.

I am extremely happy with Eric's efficiency, work ethic, and professionalism. He knows what he is doing and it shows! His plumbing supplier was dropping off our order and told me I had the best guy in the area, hands down. Was also told Eric does top notch work by the city inspector in Royal Oak.
