A representative of Westland Plumbing Co,. Quoted me $375. Took him >30 minutes to grab "something" from the store. Before he started, the calculation that led up to 375 was asked, guy couldn't really give a breakdown and just said 300 is pretty much for a gas line and then the rest were calculated depending on the job. Pipes were all tightened, but it was lacking length to redirect upstairs, so he had to add a union. The price went up to $410 because of adding a union. So adding an extension of a few inches, a union and some muscle to give the pipe some revolutions cost $410? The assurance of a licensed plumber was worth a couple hundred but that work was obviously a rip-off.
