Only 1 star because I can't leave zero or negative stars....

I made a repair on my kitchenaid mixer (replaced the worm gear, checked the brushes and the phase panel, etc). Put it all back together and it wouldn't start, so figured I'd take it to ARI to have them tell me what's wrong and give me a quote.

To avoid additional charges, and save some $$, I dropped it off with them, and even told them to take their time in diagnosing; no hurry; I even had the $35 coupon from their website.

Received a call the next day; the tech plugged it in and it worked. I must have had a dead spot in the motor, and as I rotated the unit to align a roll pin, it was good to go.

So, their 'diagnostic work' was literally plugging it in and telling me it was fine. If it does it again, I should probably get a new motor (duh).

$75 for this valuable insight. They literally turn it on and call me to tell me it's fine.

I wasn't looking for a freebie; $40 or $50 or so would be fine...but $75?!

Tried talking to the owner today about the charge; left 3 messages. He never called. I called a 4th time and had him paged. He tries to tell me it's his cost of doing business, he interrupts me, he's an honest business, he talks over me, and tries to justify this 'diagnostic' charge.

I mention my idea of a 'diagnosis' would be actually testing it, maybe taking a panel or two off and looking at it, maybe using a voltmeter or something, coming up with a quote and a list of parts that need to be changed.....not taking 2 minutes to plug it in and say 'yep, it works.'

I tell him this really isn't a way to get my repeat business.....he tells me he doesn't need it. Nice.

Avoid these guys. Couldn't even use the website coupon; it doesn't apply to 'diagnostic' work. Give me a break.

Terrible experience- We chose to get our washing machine fixed even though it was quite expensive- the technician had encouraged my wife to make the repair said our machine is high quality. First the parts for the machine were defective- We did not find that out for 5 days. It took several more days to get the parts, the technician repaired it and the machine was functioning the same as it was before the repair. Another technician came out and said it was the timer. It has been another 8 days and the part has still not been delivered. We are going on 4 weeks without a wash machine. I have called and asked to speak with a manager- no response

My oven went out 2 days before Easter. I called Appliance repair Inc late Friday afternoon! Everyone else wanted special fees to come on a Saturday, but not these guys. I was able to get my oven fixed Saturday morning :-) I have never been so happy! I was able to use my oven on Saturday and Sunday to cook dinner for our large family with no problems and without paying a small fortune. I don't know what I would have done without their service. I will call them if I need any service in the future that's for sure!
