I didn't have any time to visit with Garrett, but that's maybe okay because, according to his profile, we would have had about 50 different topics to cover and it would have really messed up our schedules!

He is polite, professional, and he volunteered some ideas work around issues to attempt 100% coverage in the face of some landscape obstacles. Things that I would have been okay with ignoring, but it was clear to me that he wanted to deliver the absolute BEST care and customer service.

Again, if I ever run into Garrett again, I'm afraid we'll have a bunch of chatting to do, and not just about his background and credentialed expertise in his field!

My first year with Fertilawn (actually with any lawn service). Not cheap though I’m not sure what costs run generally for these services; I tried to follow recommendations regarding water and leaving grass longer and cutting less though helped by a rainy summer. My yard was a mess and I think my expectations were reasonably modest as a result for this first year but I’m very happy with how things are looking in the fall. I can easily see the very significant improvement, what I was hoping for and more than I was expecting. Thanks Fertilawn!

We have worked with Urban for a few years now and they have always been honest, willing to work with us, communicating well and they do great work! Whether it’s mowing, mulch, hardscape and landscaping they have done great!!

I have used urban landworks for close to 6 years now. i have them for lawn mowing, fertilizing, mosquito applications as well as snow plowing. they have also done a great job i would recommend this company to anybody looking for a lawn service company.

I moved to Bloomington May 2022 and was looking for a good local company to do fall cleanup. I got a fair price from Mike Draper in September and asked to be added to the schedule. In December I received an invoice for $250, but I didnt think anyone came to do my yard. I asked Mike via text, he replied "OK thanks" ?
I called and couldnt get a call back from Mike, so I emailed the group. No reply to multiple emails in early December. I had a health problem then develop at that time, so did not keep following up because I lost track of it. I never got any reply or follow up from anyone at Urban Landworks.
I received another past due notice in February and again asked if my yard was actually done. The owner Mike Bollinger said leaves arent his department and he would look in to it for me. Again, no follow up, nothing back. This is the OWNER of the company!
Yet again past due notice in March, again I ask. I'm sending inquiries in March for service [done or not done??] in November. Needless to say I'm getting pretty frustrated. Are leaves sitting on my yard underneath snow all winter?
I'm finally sent by Mike Bollinger the owner a screenshot that claims they went to my yard on 11/1 for 45 minutes of cleanup. He says it was "round 1" and a 2nd round was planned, but they never got to it because of the snow. Firstly, I would never have agreed to pay $250 x 2 = $500 ?! for my 1/3 acre yard. Secondly, I would never have agreed to hire a company that wont actually finish my yard! I would have gone with a different company, which is what I'll do next season. Adding 'insult to injury', Mike Bollinger then insults my intelligence in his final email.
I strongly recommend steering clear of Urban Landworks for yard care.

I've been an Urban Landworks customer for ~three seasons now. The first season mostly went as planned. The following two were under new management. A huge pile of leaves from our yard were left in the street for several days before being collected, which only happened because I sent an e-mail requesting it. On more than one occasion it looked like my lawn wasn't even mowed. Twice in 2023 I received e-mails with significant past due balances (July for over $600 & December for over $1000), despite being set up for automatic payments and receiving an e-mail in July assuring me and confirming that auto-pay was set up going forward after the first issue I encountered. I was told that they encountered an issue with their automatic payment system, but they appatently did not notify clients. That's a lot of money to cough up at once, so we agreed the invoices would be processed separately over three months. Suddenly at the beginning of January I noticed that all of the invoices were processed at once which left my account negative which left me unable to pay my mortgage necessary bills. When I e-mailed Urban Landworks, the woman in the billing department (Patty, whom I had contact with in all of my other e-mails pertaining to auto-pay issues) said she was on vacation and was sorry and to contact my bank--I was not offered a refund at that time, which would have been the simpler solution. Eventually, they did reluctantly agree to refunding two of the invoices. What this tells me is that there is little to no communication within the company, and there's no communication with clients. It's a very poorly run business, and there is no accountability. Yes, I should have been watching my account more closely, but I placed my trust in the company who had assured me my automatic payments were set up appropriately. I agree with the other review on here to steer clear of this company and take your business elsewhere unless you enjoy the headache.

I have used Urban Landworks Lawn mowing service for well over 10 years. I have ben super happy with the mowing service, I have the yearly platinum service with them. That includes lawn mowing, spring and fall clean ups, Fertilizing and weed control and aeration with seeding, snowplowing
I pay with ACH and they deduct it automatically, very well run company. I love the new email updates

We have two homes serviced by Urban Landworks. We started out with lawn mowing and then fertilizing with one home. The next year we added our other residence and snow plowing for both. I’ve been very pleased with their responsiveness and attention to detail. They have been available when I have needed to contact them and I have enjoyed the special care that Mike Draper has made with our properties. Their billing portal makes it easy to see and pay my bills or I could use their autopay. I highly recommend them.

Kyle and his team are there when they say they'll be, complete the job 100%, 100% of the time, and all for a great price. Great to deal locally with someone who is in the neighborhood. My yard looks better than it has ever looked.

I called for a 1 time mowing job and Mike said they unfortunately could not accommodate my need but was extremely helpful with directing me to an app called mowz that fixed my lawn mowing Delma! So thank you for putting the need of your customers first rather than your wallet! I would recommend these guys to anyone that wants a company that puts them first! Integrity is hard to find these days!

They've handled my snow removal and salting needs. Super prompt and responsive and have come on short notice too! Great work.

GDL is top notch. We used Fernando, Adan and team for the tile work in our screen porch as well as a new bluestone walkway and stone entrance. They are true artisans, taking great pride and care in their workmanship, often going the extra mile to be sure we were satisfied and that the end product was extra-ordinary. Highly recommend.

I was incredibly impressed by this company. They rebuilt my fence and completely updated my landscaping. The crew who worked for two weeks were professional and very friendly. I have zero complaints, thank you.

GDL Stone-Snow is very professional and dedicated to providing exceptional customer service. I had a huge landscape project completed with a paver walkway, patio as well as retaining walls. The crew was very respectful and punctual. The owner kept in touch with me they the whole process. He addressed all my questions and followed up once the job was completed. I would highly recommend GDL to all my family and friends.

O my goodness was this company amazing! We had gotten so much snow piled on the end of our driveway I thought we’d never get out! Then I called GDL and they were fast to respond AND get a crew out to remove the snow from the end of my driveway.

Their pricing was upfront and very fair! I would recommend them to anyone in need of fast and reliable help! I will be calling them for more projects for sure!!
