Dave Kopfmann and his team have designed and executed five landscaping projects for me. Dave's skill in design is superb. His team executes with precision and efficiency. I highly recommend Yardscapes for any landscaping or grounds maintenance project, regardless of scope or complexity.

This review is written ~3 years after work is completed. The design and workmanship is 100% good. We had a bluestone patio installed, low voltage lighting, irrigation system, sod and all trees, shrubs and plants. Approximate cost $80K. Their crew is experienced and do excellent work. I would give them a five star review if they fix or attempt to correct the following issues as I see fit.

We wanted a rabbit/deer free design and plantings. Along with primarily perennials that don’t take a lot of personal maintenance. In the past three years we lost one Serbian weeping pine tree due to rabbits, 3 Dakota Pinnacle Birch trees (due to bronze birch borers) and numerous box woods. I think their shortcomings is the total lack of sitting down with you as a client and pointing out potential issues on insect pests and wild life. They’ve been in business over 45 years and this shouldn’t be new to them. We never knew that we should be on the lookout for bronze birch borers or put a metal fence around our pine to prevent damage.

I called them to see if they could install some new Dakota pinnacle birch to replace the three dead ones. Was told they can’t get hold of size 20 containers for them this year. Which is true. I did find some in LaCrosse WI, was willing to drive and get them if they would take out the dead ones and replace with new ones I purchased. I was willing to pay them whatever they wanted to do the job. Was politely told they can’t do it, don’t have the time. Needless to say I was highly disappointed considering I recommended them to my two neighbors that were building new homes as well. Between us we spent close to $200K I then called Davey Tree Company and bought 3 Parkland Pillar birch and they will remove the dead Dakota birch plant new ones. And they didn’t even get this work on my property to begin with in the beginning. Be prepared to be on your own down the road as Yardscapes is not prone or willing to help you down the road when your one year warranty expires on your plantings.

We had such a wonderful, professional, and stress-free experience with Clayton at Yardscapes for our backyard that we asked him back the following year to do our front yard. Thank you, Clayton! It was an absolute pleasure to work with you!

We have dealt with Dave and his team since 2006 and there is no one else we would trust with our landscaping. We’ve done a project a year with him (with a special shout out to Jeff Steuernagel)! We’ve also done some incredible sculptures and water features from Dave that compliment the art in his landscaping. It’s a win-win!

Our experience with Yardscapes was and continues to be amazing. Our original project required building up a steep hill next to our home to create an area for a pool. The quality of the project was beyond expectation. The attention to detail and luxury they added to our home gets continual raves, and, of course, the grandchildren love the pool. This project was followed by a new paver driveway and complete new landscaping. Our home was dramatically upgraded. The people we deal with Dave, John and their crews have become friends. We have them back annually to "touch up" the yard, and we use their snowplowing service. MY wife and I are big fans of Yardscapes. and highly recommend them.

One of the best decisions we made when we moved into our home 25 years ago was to hire Yardscapes for our first major landscaping project. Our property had little or no curb appeal when we purchased it, so the first thing we wanted to do was to transform the front yard. We knew we could trust Dave to get the job done right and on budget, but what really sold us on that first project was his creative vision. By the time Yardscapes was finished, neighbors and strangers alike stopped us in our front yard to compliment us and ask who had done the beautiful work. When it came time to add some space to the back of our house and replace our falling-down garage, we knew we wanted to work with Yardscapes on the landscaping. Dave was involved in our project from day one and we're so glad he was. He created a beautiful, inviting, and functional backyard that is truly an extension of our home. We're probably most grateful for the fact that he didn't give us what we originally asked for, but helped us see the possibilities. We couldn't be happier with the results. Once again, the installation was professional, seamless and completed on schedule. For 25 years Yardscapes has stood behind the work they've done for us as promptly and professionally as we could have hoped. It doesn't get much better than that.

Yardscapes has completed many projects for us over the years and they have always turned out great! If you are lucky, you will get Miguel and his crew of workers. Miguel is great to work with and very accommodating. This spring, Yardscapes has re-landscaped our front and back of house area, redone all the mulch around our house, planted a tree, and added a fountain and plantings in our center courtyard. This was a large project and took several days. It looks wonderful! Thank you Dave, Jeff, Miguel and everyone at Yardscapes.

The reason that we have done several projects with Yardscapes (and are in the process of another as I am writing this review) is based on several things. Dave's many years in the business means that he has brought a wealth of creative experience, style and knowledge to our projects. They have had a long wonderful history as a company and I know they will be there in the future - it's great to know that a company will be there for upcoming needs or if any issues come up. I recommended Dave and company to my brother who built a new house several years back. My brother had initially hired a landscaping company that totally dropped the ball and cost a lot of money on top of it. I recommended Yardscapes to my brother as a remedy. Yardscapes was able to salvage a terrible situation and my brother was thrilled with the outcome! A+/First class!

I have been using Yardscapes for over 20 years. They have put in bluestone and arbor, screen material to help with other home views, many birches of all different types and other trees and plants(not that knowledgeable about their names). Their work is excellent and I highly recommend them. Cannot add photos as it is this time of year-not ready.

Yardscapes was referred to me by the contractor that is remodeling my house. Clayton created a beautiful design for a Bluestone/red brick patio and garden. I provided minimal input, relied on Clayton's expertise and it turned out amazing. A few months later a snowstorm destroyed a row of old weak trees so I hired Yardscapes again to plant new trees and install a fence. The crew works hard and they get a lot done very quickly. Yardscapes takes pride in their work and I felt like they cared about the final result as much as I did. I couldn't be happier with the work and will call Yardscapes for any future projects.
