Whether you know exactly what you want or need their creative guidance, you will be happy that you trusted them with your project. They are my first and only call when I need remodeling help.

I had a great experience with Prima Construction. I had a huge and deep hole in my wall that needed patching and I called on them because I simply could not do this on my own. The thing that is hard about this hole is that it is on a wall with dark paint, so it was a doubly intimidating DIY project. The wall now looks like the hole was never there to begin with and the price was on target. I will definitely call this perfectionist again with projects small or big!

Great working with Kim and her team from the start of the project until the finish (during the initial Covid-19 shut down, she and her team were always professional and on time. They did a wonderful job, great quality and I now have a new completely updated kitchen with a pantry and a new updated bathroom! Love it!

Prima Construction did an INCREDIBLE job on my 1 bedroom / 1 bath condo in downtown Minneapolis. When we first sat down I told them what I was generally looking for and I gave them just a little bit of guidance. Beyond that, I asked them to “impress me” within my budget. It’s also important to note that they only had 2 weeks to turn around the entire project, and that the condo I purchased had the stylings of a 1980s B movie. Within 2 weeks, they completely transformed the unit into a space that I couldn’t even envision when I first bought my place. I believe what differentiates the team at Prima is their ability to not only get the job in a timely manner, but to do so with a great deal of aesthetic sensibility i.e. they were able to correctly advise me on color combinations, placements, and other important strategic decisions when completely gutting and re-doing a home. They’re able to play the role of interior designers and contractors, which was absolutely crucial for me. I would highly recommend the Prima Construction team to anyone. They won’t let you down.

When asking for an estimate for building up on our house, they contacted me about my "basement remodel" and I clarified to them that this was not a basement remodel. Quote from my email: "I need to clarify that our project is mainly building up. The basement would would just go with that. So building a second floor is the main concern and our most strong desire to look into." They asked no further questions and set up an appointment with me. I took time to stay home to talk to them about this project. When they arrived, I gave them a tour and showed what we wanted, and their response was "we don't do additions."
I am sure their work would be wonderful for projects they complete based on other reviews, but the communication issue is sorely lacking. Be sure to email specifics of what you are looking for, and triple check that they understand before you take time away from your job to talk to them.

We used Prima for a major bathroom renovation in our 1918 home. We had a very specific vision, and Prima was able to execute on all of it, even aspects that other contractors told us weren’t possible. The workmanship, value, timeliness, and communication were all top notch. We will definitely use them again for our next project.

Remodeled our bathroom. From start to finish it was a lot less painful than I expected. Kim kept me up to date and the crew kept the place clean. Kim did a good bit of the work herself. She is really good at this.

Kim at Prima has very high attention to detail and the clearest communication of any contractor we have worked with before. Prima also welcomes post-project feedback and is happy to help resolve any unforeseen issues. We worked with them during the beginning of the COVD-19 pandemic and found they were professional and did their very best to meeting needs given the trying circumstances.

We used Prima to remodel our kitchen, laundry room & master bath. Prima’s staff was friendly, trustworthy & very clean. They were in my home & around my family for weeks & we never had an issue with any member of the team. Kim responded promptly to questions & requests & gave great advice when we were making all of the design decisions.

Kim and Scott were great to work with. They were very responsive throughout the project, and worked with us when we decided to adjust the scope. Our kitchen (and then bathroom) were completed on time and on budget, and we are very happy with the final product.

Kim and her crew were great. They did a bathroom remodeling for us that they originally scheduled for 6-8 weeks long, barring anything unexpected. We have an old house, and they did find some unexpected plumbing problems behind the walls and floor. One of their work crew also tested positive for COVID right after starting his part of the project. Despite these unexpected things, and inspectors' erratic schedules, they stayed pretty much on schedule. Towards the end, two of our family members contracted COVID, and Kim worked super hard to finish so that we could have use of the bathroom during our quarantining efforts. It was a crazy process, but Kim and her crew were outstanding, and they finished only a week or so beyond the original 6-8 week schedule, despite all the obstacles. We can't recommend Prima Construction highly enough.

We totally recommend Prima Construction to anyone considering remodeling or upgrading their home. We had 2 bathroom projects, a bathroom/laundry room and a master bath done in November 2016. Prima responded to our inquiry promptly. They were very supportive in our project ideas and found price friendly quality materials. The owner, Kim, and her crew were here daily and very in synch with our wishes and ideas. Their concern of our home with the protection of wood floors and carpets was excellent. Clean up at the end of every day was spotless. Prima Construction is a professional, knowledgeable, hard working and friendly group of people. We are 100% satisfied!

We did not choose to complete the extensive kitchen remodel project we started with Prima and so, unfortunately, I cannot broadly recommend them without hesitation as I would like to. Based on my own errors, I would recommend, as with all contractors, carefully looking at the processes of several companies regarding communication, design, and pricing to find the right fit for you before hiring. Given the scope and expense of your project, you might hire a lawyer to review and discuss any contract. I wish I'd learned about the wide breadth of approaches to the kitchen remodeling business before I'd gotten a single estimate, and certainly before the crucial design phase, because a kitchen design business such as Prima is but one of many options. Main thing of course - find skilled artisans committed to listening and caring about your individual goals. I did finally get the exact results I wanted which, of course, came along with discovering the approach, processes, and interpersonal communication priorities important for me - but I regret not doing more homework earlier to ease the way for my family financially and stress - wise.

After purchasing our new house we were looking to remodel the basement, making it more like a mother-in-law suite with a new kitchenette and adding walls to separate the space. I came across Prima Construction when doing some research online. After looking at pictures and contacting Kim, I knew she would be a good fit for helping us make this living space exactly how we envisioned it. We also had a few projects that required updating by the city that Kim didn't hesitate to help us with. Kim and her team were wonderful. After meeting with Kim for an initial walk-through of the space she was very quick to come up with a blueprint and a quote for the project. She was very up front about not being able to begin the project for a few weeks due to finishing up another project. This time frame worked for us because we had delays on our end as well. She was even willing to begin work before the first payment was in her hands. She also let us know that the project could take up to three months. Even with the busy holiday season we were surprised that she was able to finish the project one week shy of three months.

Kim was on top of everything. One thing I really appreciated was getting weekly updates on the progress of the project as well as what to expect in the coming weeks. She was even kind enough to let me know day to day if a worker was scheduled to come that day. She took the extra step to get to know our two dogs so they could get comfortable with her coming and going. She did a wonderful job giving us options of different hardware and fixtures that fit into our budget. I appreciate all of the hard work she and her team did while working with us and staying within our somewhat tight budget. I would recommend Prima Construction to anyone looking to remodel their place no matter the budget or the size of the work space. Even while rapping up the project she offered to come back if we noticed any issues down the road. Thanks Kim!
