On a Monday night I ask neighbors for a referrals on replacing my air conditioner. I get a couple for Joel Smith Heating & Air Conditioning. I email them that night (Monday). Tuesday morning I get a call and scheduled someone to come to our house the next day.

My husband likes to mull big purchases. He was aware someone from Joel Smith Heating & Air Conditioning was coming. That morning, Hubs acts blindsided at the idea of a replacement. He says he never knew I wanted it replaced (...yes, you did), he’s not ready - what are we doing about checking prices. I tell him the company came well recommend from our neighbors and he should take their suggestions and ask them his questions. There was a brief debate as to if Hubs can handle this task.

Wednesday afternoon I expect a call from my frazzled husband wanting to talk about the options before going any further, but when when he calls, it is about dinner plans, with a passing mention of our new air conditioner. He says - you were right, he was a good guy. He explained stuff well. I picked an efficiency upgraded, it will save us money in the long run.

I knew Hubs could handle the task - he wouldn't want to listen to me gripe about it being hot all summer. But I wasn’t expecting him to be happy about it. He was.

In recap, I emailed Joel Smith Heating & Air Conditioning on a Monday night, I had a fully replaced air conditioner on Friday. It cost $4,201.00 (my husband did not pick the cheapest option they offered). They won over a skeptical husband by being trustworthy and knowledgeable. This work was done in May 2020 - because of that, they had COVID related practices in place for their home visits.

I have been using Joel Smith since 2013 for my furnace and air conditioner check-ups. I recently had them install a new air conditioner. They are skilled in their trade. I found them to be competitive in pricing and were very timely in getting the job done. I trust them with my business.

Very friendly and helpful staff, from the receptionist to the guys who do the work. Dustin installed a inducer motor in my furnace, and Joel checked another problem I thought I had, but I had no problem, Joel is very knowledgeable and very helpful. These guys are great, you will not find a better Company to work on your furnace or AC.

Meeting the rep for the quote went well. Tried to establish confidence in the work to be performed - in this case adding a garage heater. But Kurt and another gentleman that arrived and did the work were awesome. They even reviewed my HVAC in the home since I mentioned I may want to separate the 3 floors to have individual controls. They were accommodating and friendly and sold me on the company. Clearly experienced and most helpful. That is why I would use and recommend them again.

Joel Smith Heating and Air Conditioning has done work for me since 2000. I've always received honest advise and fair pricing. They've completed furnace cleanings and tune ups as well as installed garage furnaces and air to air exchangers for myself personally. I will continue to refer Joel Smith Heating and Air Cinditioning to my friends and clients with 100% confidence. I would highly recommend this local and family owned business.

Had them come out to take care of an AC issue and they were thorough enough to also clear up an issue with the furnace. Was very happy with the final bill. Will be calling them from now on instead of AireServ, who I've usually been having come out but very unhappy with the ridiculous amount they charge for just to come out and are always trying to sell me a new furnace or maintenance program. It's been a much better experience with Joel Smith's Heating and AC.

We called to have them come look at our AC. It has been hot and our AC just hasn't been able to keep up. They were able to send someone out quick to look at it. Turns out it just needed a good cleaning of the coils. Also good that we didn't do it ourselves because our coils are unique and taking a hose to them ourselves could have damaged them. The technician also took time to talk to us about future replacement of our system (it is 21 years old). Our AC is working better now even with some still hotter Temps. We will use them again for future needs.

Joel Smith Heating & Air is the greatest. The AC they installed at the house is great and the price was right. They came out to my business and helped in the remodel as well. Very knowledgeable and honest! Now they are helping after a flood damaged my home furnace! It is good to have someone you can trust!

Could not be HAPPIER! with this company and the professional work they have done. New furnace 2 years ago, first tune up this year. So efficient, friendly, professional, AND showed up on time! Trying to find good people in some of the trades is difficult, but this company we highly highly recommend.

We had Joel come out to give us an estimate on a new A/C. I had other estimates scheduled but had such a good feeling after he came by that I canceled them. They were very reasonable and offered to fill the leak in our A/C with Freon to get us by until they could install the new one. I'm a very happy customer!

We had our furnace cleaned and tuned up. Dusty did a great job and answered all the extra questions I had about the furnace and a few other things we would like to get done in the future. We are in the middle of a remodel and need the cold air return moved. They are working on the quote for that work. Very professional. Always look forward to this company doing the work. I could not be more pleased. Joel Smith Heating and Air Conditioning went farther then any business I have ever dealt with. The installation of a new AC unit was totally stress free. The unit was replaced in July of 2015. In August of 2016, the thermostat that was installed with the new AC back in 2015 did not meet our needs for programming. I contacted the company and in just a few days they replaced the thermostat with one that I am 100% satisfied with. If there were more than 5 stars to give as a rating, they certainly deserve them. We have been using Joel Smith Heating and Air for all of our heating, AC and other utility service since we moved into our current home (about 8 yrs.) and have never been disappointed with their service. After the recent hail storm in Blaine I called them to assess the damage to our AC condenser. Once again they did not disappoint as Joel came out personally to assess the damage and make recommendations for the best course of action based on the age of the unit and the fact that it was still cooling the house. Great service

Refreshing from setting appointment to finished product. Had whole house humidifier installed by technician named Dustin. He was professional, on time, and arrived with face mask and protective gloves (Covid-19). He wore protective gear throughout installation. He explained the install and how to operate system after install. There were no surprises, no up-selling, and he had an extra filter for me to purchase at my request. I would recommend J Smith Heating & Air to anyone. Very professional staff, fair pricing, and great customer service.

This business is professional and capable. I've had them do several jobs at my home, the most recent was installing a new furnace, and they have always been the best. They arrived on time, were quick, quiet and always otherwise considerate. I will never use anyone else.

Great to deal with! On time and didn't charge an arm and a leg like other places. Glad to have found them and will definitely stick with them rather then the big name companies.

Joel Smith Heating and A/C is that diamond in the ruff. We have searched over the years for a company that takes pride in what they do and couldn’t find one till now. After searching on line and reading great reviews we scheduled our annual maintenance check with J Smith Heating. Their technician did an amazing job tuning up the furnace and even found some errors made by other companies.

When he was finished I asked if they work on fireplaces and found they do that as well. Something that a lot of HVAC companies don’t do. He was very thorough and explained the issue very well. We’re eager for the parts to come in and be able to use the fireplace again.

I would highly recommend J Smith Heating and A/C to anyone. If you schedule an appointment for the morning be sure to brew some coffee and offer the technician some. It’ll put a smile on his face. We’ll have a fresh cup waiting for when they come back to repair the fireplace.

I haven't kept up on maintaining my HVAC like I probably should as I have had multiple bad experiences in the past. I found Joel Smith through the AprilAire certified contractors list and was impressed from the first interaction. They are super easy to work with, got my repair scheduled quickly and the tech was friendly, on time, and took the time to explain all the repairs to me. I have found a new trusted contractor for HVAC...thanks Joel and team!

Oh my gosh....this company is.....Gooooood. They put in our new furnace and even rewired a few things that our builder did haphazardly......at no extra cost. What I really like best about Joel Smith Heating is their AWESOME customer service. I am NOT technical. We now have a computerized thermostat. Whenever that annoying red light pops on I can never figure out why. So I give them a call and sure enough, without fail they walk me through it and they never, ever get impatient with me. For a female over 70, that is a blessing. So thanks for your awesome product, your awesome service and your awesome friendliness and patience with one of your "older" customers. :-). 5 Stars +
