I worked with Black River Stone to fix a drainage issue along my house, build a patio, and replace a set of rotting railroad tie steps along the cabin.

Gabe and Max were awesome to work with. They suggested a flagstone patio, with layered blue/brown natural stone steps. They also suggested we do a natural stone curb around the entire patio to add some durability.

The crew showed up on the day we had scheduled the project and they were done ahead of schedule. Their attention to detail on the entire project was great, especially on the stone work. They also regraded the entire driveway and added some material into the low spots.

We had a great experience working with these young men on our backyard pool landscaping project. Hardworking, prompt, courteous,and lot's of great ideas. Highly recommend!

Max was amazing to work with. My fence blew down in a windstorm and he was very helpful in figuring out what the right thing to do was. Through the entire project from figuring out what we wanted to dealing with the insurance company he knew exactly how to do all of it to perfection. You got a returning customer out of me! Black River did everything a good contractor should do and so much more. They gave me a firm, reasonable price, showed up exactly when they said they would and went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy and that the finished boulder retaining wall looked very professional. I would definitely use them again.

Rarely do I insist on paying a contractor more than what they charged but Black River (Max and Gabe) went above and beyond in every way! We hired them to do a fall yard refresh and their attention to detail was incredible. Admittedly our yard was in rough shape. They cleaned and edged everything, reset stone pads, replaced plants, did it all. 5 star work all around. Plus, they clearly communicated schedule and then stuck to that. And they cleaned up after themselves! They also are just nice guys. Hard workers, pleasant to deal with, responsive, and master craftsmen. At the end I insisted on paying them more than they billed because I was so impressed. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Over the years I’ve worked with many contractors on different house projects. Unlike other contractors, Black River started on time, finished on time and finished on budget. I was impressed that while young, they do the work and own the business. This ownership and investment showed in their approach to the project and quality of their work product. The scape of my project included hardscapes, plantings and sod, all of which turned out beautifully. On top of that, they were minimally disruptive and tidied up after. Would definitely use Max and Gabe again!

Proficient Construction and its owners, Boe and Rachel Narveson, managed the installation of our new roof and the coordination of the replacement and installation of an additional gutter system. They also repaired and wrapped all the brick mold around all our home's exterior windows. I was so impressed with Dan and the team that came out to build my deck. From start to finish this project has been so simple and easy. They are just finishing up the final touches now but I'm already in love with the work that was done.

Dan was very responsive to my emails and checked in in-person regularly. He answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly and there were never any unhappy surprises! Him and his team also gave a great suggestion for a solution on an unsightly piece of siding that had holes/paint on it from my previous deck and now it looks fresh and new!

Not only was Dan great to work with, but he also was one of the friendliest/positive people I've ever met! I met with about 7 other decking companies, and among other things (of course), my interactions with Dan definitely played a role in me choosing Proficient Construction for our deck. Great workmanship, Great Price and Great Service! From the initial call with this company until the final payment this was the nicest group of people. They did detailed assessment of the roof with detailed cost analysis. They offered their assistance and experience when picking out the new roofing materials and their craftmanship was excellent. Proficient Construction and Ann Ruud did a fantastic job on replacing my roof after hail damage. From inspection through the completed job I was provided updates and felt that I was in good hands. The roof looks great as well!

Proficient did the roof project at out apartment building complex. As a board member, I was very impressed with Proficient because they took the time and helped educate us in the insurance claim process since most of us were not familiar with it. They attended a few board meetings and went thru photos from their drones and inspections and different products. We had many contractors call us and only wanted our business but didnt really tell us how they could really help us. Rachel spent over 5 hours with our adjuster and even got our gutters approved too. We were also in need of some interior work and they even. They are a one stop shop and great to work with. WE are excited for our siding to get done in the spring. Thanks proficient team.
