Sod Smith did a great job installing sod after a backyard patio installation damaged our existing lawn. They were very responsive (I think a representative called me within 10 minutes of submitting a request on their website), and the installation was scheduled less than a week after I called. The crew was courteous and efficient, and the new lawn looks great!

The team at Sod Smith is exceptional. Most importantly to me, they are responsive and communicate clearly, which is unfortunately kind of rare these days. The crews were courteous, on time, hard-working, and went above and beyond to make sure the work was done right. After the work was completed, they cleaned up the work site perfectly.

I had originally booked sod installation for our backyard with a different landscaping company. After that company canceled in mid-July, I was worried no one would be able to schedule us until the fall or following spring. I placed an inquiry with Sod Smith and they contacted me same day, and were extremely helpful in explaining their process, and the process to provide an estimate. They were able to schedule us within two weeks, and they got the job done in about 4 hours. The sod looks beautiful and the team was very helpful with after care instructions. Highly recommend!

Micah and his crew were prompt and responsive in getting our yard put in. They were courteous and professional, and also did a good job not infringing on our neighbors property while getting sod installed.

Update: a year after our installation we had a different landscaping company do work for us that resulted in non-trivial sod damage, and when I gave Micah a call to see if the team could do some sod repair he had the team out the next business day and took care of everything at the same rate as last year. Having worked with a dozen different contractors in the past 12 months I can say that Sod Smith has had the most prompt service, and clearest communication of all of them.

Sod Smith did a great job helping to get my yard back to a usable condition after having a large tree stump removed. They were courteous, prompt and quick to respond with a quote and scheduling. So far the new grass looks great!

They prepped our front yard and boulevard and installed new sods. They have excellent customer services; they are friendly, and are super quick and efficient in communication. They listened to our needs and were accommodating. The crew of 5-6 people arrived on time and was very efficient and quick in installing the sods. The sods they installed looked very fresh and healthy. We had some minor issues with a missed area, etc. but they were very quick to come and fix the issues. It’s 2.5 weeks after the installation, and our lawn looks great!

Great company to work with. We also had them install an irrigation system that was a life saver (and sod saver) since we did not want to spend our summer at home moving hoses and sprinklers twice a day! Very hard and honest workers. Would highly recommend.

Caleb was very professional, the crew he sent were really nice, hard-working young men. Even some of our neighbors mentioned what nice guys there were. We have had 2 neighbors ask for Sod Smith contact because of the great work that was done on our yard. I was looking for an irrigation system that was intuitive and eco-friendly, but was a bit weary of the Irrigreen system due to negative reviews from early adopters. Micah took time to explain some issues the system had in the early stages, how they have been addressed and even connected me with Irrigreen directly to answer my questions. I also like that the product is local. The system is more expensive then most and spending that kind of money was a stretch for us, but we are extremely happy with the results from the technology used and the ease of use of the dashboard to the coverage of the areas waters. Kaleb was on time, communicative and very transparent about expectations and setting us up. Overall, very happy with our choice.

Wow! What an easy process this was and the service and product were top notch! Getting things done these days can sometimes take several phone calls and hours of time waiting for people to call you back or show up. But Sod Smith was exactly the opposite - one e-mail, one quick phone call, and I had an estimate. A quick approval from me and Sod Smith gave me my install date. They showed up when they said and did an excellent job. My lawn looks great! Worth every penny. Thank you!

Sod Smith did an amazing job doing a full sod replacement in both our front and back yard. The team was punctual, communicated all steps of the process in great detail and provided in-depth instructions for post-installation lawn maintenance. There was also some slope regrading we had to perform as an extra task but the team still tackled it with ease.
The entire job was completed very efficiently over 7-8 hour in a single day. The team followed up next day to do a full-concrete power wash to clean up any installation mess on our sidewalks and driveway, which was very nice as it sounds like their normal contractor was out of the country at the time we installed. I'd recommend Sod Smith for any Twin Cities residents looking to do new sod installation!

I found Sodsmith on line as our daughter and son in law were regrading and re-sodding their front yard. I inquired on line and promptly received a call from Kaleb Smith the owner. After relaying square footage he gave me a very competitive quote (almost half what a competitor quoted us!) and confirmed that they could do the sod install promptly in just a couple of days. I received text updates throughout the whole process from Kaleb and he did a fantastic job. I would not hesitate to recommend Sodsmith. 5 star service! Outstanding!

Sod Smith did a great job from start to finish in the back yard! The project was made easy for me with their way of estimating and their ability to accommodate my installation schedule. All of the information I needed to make a decision and to understand how to maintain the newly-installed sod was sent to me quickly and was written concisely. The installer took care, of both working around existing plantings and leveling the uneven ground, while improving the quality of the soil. The yard now looks fantastic! Sod Smith completed this home improvement project in a timely-manner and for a fair price. We are very satisfied.
