Constraction reviews in Savage, Minnesota

It is taking me almost 2 years after having these people work on my garage. It looks like a great build but now after trying to finish this mess of a building that they put up I now have opinions. The entire building is crooked so I had to have my Gutters poured to the front of a new garage. The entire building is not level. I had to pay extra because Because the studs were so crooked on so many points, the drywaller’s had to shim the drywall. These people thought my square building didn’t require their best people. I got their grade Z people. I have videos of these people having to install and remove my siding 3 to 4 times. Run away.

The work completed was a ceiling repair and painting. They did an excellent job. They came when promised and followed up when it was needed. I will definitely use Corbins again.

Asked for bids to install new GFCI breaker and add vent through wall for microwave. Bid took two weeks to come, and compared to other bids, was about 6X higher.

Knowledgeable, honest, thorough and professional. A great company if you need construction or remodeling!

We recently had Corbin’s LLC complete a basement finish. Communication throughout the project was clear and consistent, keeping us informed every step of the way, including quote, scheduling, and as the work was being done. The team was incredibly clean, always making sure the work area was cleaned up at the end of the project without anything left behind for us to worry about. They were also prompt, finishing the project within the expected timeline.

Update: the business’s response is not completely accurate, and is quite disappointing though not surprising given my experience.

I couldn’t technically tell Corbins to cease work on something they never even started working on in the first place. I asked for a refund at the appointment stage when the second appointment was a no-show. Corbins didn’t even bother to open the access panel to take a look under the tub. Of course I lost trust and confidence in their ability to do the work!

If I had said “it’s all just too much” it certainly wasn’t via email as they state, as I never had a discussion in email nor used those words in email with anyone from Corbins. I received an estimate and a payment option via email but no discussions whatsoever.

Corbins offered to refund a portion but also stated “that’s not set in stone” (which I have saved in a voicemail) and when I continued to reach out to discuss further or even get an update at the least, I was ignored.

Didn’t realize I could be more appalled and disappointed than I already was…yikes.

Original comment:
I moved into a home with a bathtub that this company originally installed for previous owners. It was within the 6 month window of time of which they installed it and the tub squeaks and creaks terribly when you step into it. I had Corbins (the original installers) out for an estimate to install foam underneath the tub.
Mike came and did the estimate, said he remembered the project, and said they’d go through the access panel in my closet.
They required me to pay in full up front before they would come out to work on it. I even called and asked. I paid and they scheduled to come out the very next day. Mike shows up with 2 others, they walk through the house, don’t bother to open the access panel to see under the tub, and tell me now they need to go through the garage and they can’t do it and have to come back another time.

I then set up a second appointment of a time of their choosing for the following morning. I even called to confirm with Ashlea, who helped me make the appointments etc, after they’d left.

Nobody calls or shows up to the appointment the next morning. I wait an hour and a half then finally call to request my money back because I’ve now had 2 appointments (during my work day btw) of wasted time and no fixed tub and no follow-up. I am uncomfortable with the way this is being handled and that they suddenly decide they need to put a hole in my garage to access the tub, etc.

After telling Ashlea this, she says the owner is out of town on vacation and she will call me back. A bit later she calls back saying they are in fact going through the access panel, they can come back between 3 and 4 that day, and if I want the refund they can only give me a partial one but she’ll “talk to the owner because it’s not set in stone.”
I ask for a full refund again, and never hear back. I wait until the next morning (a Friday) and leave a message. I wait some more and call back and leave a message the following Tuesday. No response.

I finally had to go through my credit card company because this business essentially took my money, didn’t do a single thing, didn’t communicate further to resolve it, and essentially ghosted me. Last I heard from anyone at this business was September 7.

The owner never reached out himself, I never got the chance to ask to speak to him. My realtor, who was present during both appointment times, even reached out to Mike and left a message to ask some questions and never heard back.

In my opinion, they should’ve just had more care in their work and come out and done it for free since it wasn’t technically finished properly in the first place.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Corbins LLC! I signed the contract on a Thursday, and by Friday they had already dropped off materials. The crew got to work first thing Monday and the entire project—adding stairs to the floor over my garage—was completed by Tuesday! The turnaround time was incredible, and the quality of work exceeded my expectations. The team was professional, efficient, and clearly takes great pride in their craftsmanship. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Highly recommend Corbins LLC for their reliability, speed, and top-tier service. Thank you again!

We love our new kitchen! Scott and co. were awesome to work with. All of the contractors were timely, professional, and friendly. Scott oversaw everything and ensured all work was done correctly and that the timeline and budget were met.

Many issues with the process. Was told I’d get photos of materials, that never happened. Instead of the newel posts I wanted, I got the exact ones I told the project manager I didn’t want. This was important because I needed to be able to put up a baby gate… which I now cannot . I was told it would delay the project an unknown amount of time to find different ones because “it’s all Menards had” but my old rail had been demoed and I couldn’t risk someone falling (this was for a full banister rail where there is no wall). I was told I’d get to see color in person prior to install and that didn’t happen either. The color turned out okay but had I seen this I would have gone another direction. Was quoted one type of wood and another installed (red oak, not a fan and again would have looked at other options and chosen a different color).
Ultimately I could have lived with some of these things but there was no follow up from the project manager or the person I emailed with my issues (only response was to basically tell me the project manager had been on site several times which was a complete lie as I saw them on site once during which time they didn’t speak to me at all, and only spoke with the contractor. They also said they would get back to me to discuss further and never did).
Overall the rails do what they are supposed to but I would like to not hate them every time I look at them. I would not recommend this company to anyone as there has been no attempt to remedy this.

From the introduction to the last piece of trash….. appreciation. Appreciation from the crew and appreciation on my part. The gentlemen that arrived were fast, friendly and safe. Mario and his men were great and beyond professional. Thank you for your time and effort. If you live in the Mankato area, give this guy a ring. Disappointment isn’t an option.

During our initial “backyard deck” meeting, we discussed price vs. product quality and appearance. Scotty summarized my options. I love the outcome and very happy with my decisions. The installers were collaborative, quick and efficient, and cleaned up their messes.
