After dealing with a couple of "door-to-door" roofers, Gold Star was recommended to us by a neighbor. Our experience with Gold Star Contracting has been fantastic. If I had to pick a word to describe this company, it would be "honest." The estimate for our roofing job was accurate and focused on fixing the problem at hand, not extracting the most money possible from an insurance company. They went out of their way to get us taken care of and took the time required to help us make an informed choice on re-roofing. Watching the crew, it was obvious that they had been working together for a while and knew what they were doing. The finished product is great and we are very, very happy with our new roof. We could not possibly recommend Gold Star Contracting enough.

The May-2022 hail in my area left me with concerns that my roof may have been damaged. I needed an inspection and began searching for for roofing contractors. I wanted a local, reputable, BBB accredited company represented by someone
that I could feel comfortable working with.

I found all that and more with Jake and Gold Star Contracting in Shakopee, MN. The entire process from his initial
inspection through the end of my roof and gutter install went flawlessly. Jake is a great communicator and also a
genuine, nice guy. His crew did my roof (44sq) in one day, what a great bunch of very experienced roofers.

Goldstar has been the very best contractor experience we have had in the 50+ years in our home! After spending months searching for just the right shingle, we contacted GSC and although it was not the usual brand they installed, Jake was able to bid an extremely competitive price on our selection. Scheduling the job went very smoothly with Jake and Frank responding quickly to every communication. Installation was like clockwork with an efficient crew that was on the roof in Lake City by 8 a.m. and had the job completed and cleaned up by 3 p.m.the same day.
Our roof looks great and we cannot thank Jake and his crew enough for a job so well done.

I called Gold star desparately very late the night before my insurance roof inspection since the other company had stood me up and Jake returned my call pretty quick. He listened to the situation we had and sent Frank to my house the day after, even though it was last minute. Frank was very experienced and told me its promising for insurance to accept the hail damage with the high percentage and that’s exactly what happened. After my insurance approved the Roof damage, both Frank and Jake went through the details of what will happen and in fact to also repair the portion of the roof that always was leaking. Jake was very cooperative with the contract and not only he scheduled the roof replacement right away, in a higher temperature day, but also they repaired taht problematic part of the roof. They listened to our instructions of how we want it to be fixed and dis exactly what they were supposed to. We have a big house and they finished in 1.5 days including cleaning up. I asked for double checking all the eay around the house to make sure no pins are around left and the crew with Frank instructions dis a nice job on that, spen a lot of time to make sure nothing’s left. Both Gutters/ down spouts and roof/ shingles replacement were pro. I appreciate them helping me out while I sas helpless and knew no company to help. Either they were busy, didnt return my call back or stood me up. Thanks to Gold Star, quickly our roof was fixed and replaced. Totally recommend Gold Star.

Minnesota was hit with several severe hailstorms last summer. My own home and 5 rental properties suffered damage. Frank (Crew Foreman) inspected the roofs for free, the insurance agent confirmed there was significant damage. 3 of the rental properties are Northwest of the Twin Cities, 2 rentals and my own home are Southeast. Frank was so accommodating considering the distance involved! The crew arrived at the appointed time and did not leave until the entire roofing job was completed! No debris, nails, garbage, etc. was left behind. They were very careful not to damage any landscaping around the buildings. The company offers high quality and superior craftsmanship. They surpassed all my expectations. I was pleased with the entire process. I would definitely recommend them because of their trustworthiness and quality of their work! Job well done!

After a recent hailstorm in our area, our realtors highly recommended Gold Star Contracting to assess the roof stating that Jake, the owner, runs a very honest business. After determining the roof required replacement, Jake was very responsive to questions and requests to help us through the process. On the day the work was to be completed, Jake and his team of roofers were extremely efficient in replacing our roof and very diligent in protecting/cleaning up the yard. I was very impressed with the service received throughout the process.

Gold Star was great to work with. Jake and his team re-sided our house and did new soffit and fascia. He paid attention to the unique details of our home and asked questions up front to make sure everything would be done right. Everything turned out great! I would definitely work with Gold Star again and I wish we had them do our roof too.

We recently used Gold Star for a complicated and time sensitive roof replacement for our house. Jake's quoted costs were fair and reasonable and he and his crew were able to complete the work within the tight timeline we had available. He was extremely helpful working around our schedule both for inspecting the roof as well as the actual replacement.

He did an excellent job of helping to work thru our insurance adjuster to ensure they better understood the extent of damage after the initial on site adjuster found only modest amounts. Lastly, I commend him for his frequent and effective communication both with us and the insurance company.

Gold Star Contracting replaced our roof this summer after some hail damage. We worked with Jake, he made the entire process, from beginning to end, completely effortless. The paperwork, the scheduling, the install, all of it was managed very professionally. The new roof looks great!

We worked with Jake to replace our roof and gutter in April. Professional all the way, good communication, explained the difference between different options in terms of materials and colors. Both roofing and gutters were replaced within 2 days apart. After talking to him, we only had to wait three days and the roof was replaced. He also replaced a few bad boards underneath the boards.

Jake was so great! We had an odd request (a removal of a TV satellite and patch where it had been screwed in)--and he was one of the only contractors around who would help with a smaller job like this. He was responsive, accommodating, and so very kind. Most of all: he did a great job! Please call Jake and he will walk you through any of your questions and help get what you need! I happily will recommend Gold Star to family and friends.

Gold Star was FANTASTIC to work with to have our roof re-done due to hail damage. I reached out on a friday, got an immediate response and by the following week we had shingles picked out and a date for construction. For instance, there was rain in the forecast and they did the roof section by section so the rest of the roof wasn’t compromised. Jake and Gold Star Contracting did an amazing job on our roof. His team re-roofed our house in October 2018. From the bid to the final clean-up I could tell Jake runs a great business. I wanted to keep the project local so sought 3 bids from the South Metro. He wasn't asked to, but Jake came out the day of the call on his way to another job. He had his bid to me within 2 day. The others I contacted were what I expected, very sales oriented and frequent delays in getting their bids completed. His price was very competitive, he even stopped by to color match for us. He kept us up to date on the timing of the project. His crew did a great job both on the installation and the clean up. In retrospect it was an easy decision to go with Gold Star, I only wish I had done it sooner. Higher possible recommendation.
