Home Services reviews in Stillwater, Minnesota

I'm a homeowner at Fairway Village in Inver Grove Heights. We contract this company for our landscaping needs. I'm beyond frustrated that every time this company is on the property, they create more of a mess by blowing leaves and debris onto patios and furniture. Someone needs to teach them how to use a leaf blower and that the debris doesn't belong on residents patio furniture/plants/windows etc. I was mortified when I got home today and saw the mess they made. It is beyond ridiculous that this is the quality that they think is acceptable.

Our HOA has been working with Horticulture Services for more than 15 years and we are very pleased with the services they provide. Communicating with one assigned site manager is very effective and the company is always very responsive. I strongly recommend this company and their service.

Just finishing the second summer with our association. Excellent service in both winter and summer, the landscaping looks immaculate. They have given us proactive information to plan ahead on re-plantings, and shrub replacement which is very useful as our association is mature. We also had some trees down a few weeks ago during a severe storm. They came out immediately to remove the debris.
They have a very detailed contract which covers their activities and responsibilities - an excellent working document which gives us clear expectations. -
Our Blaine neighborhood of 30+ homes has worked with Horticulture Services since 2016. The crew is professional, courteous and reliable and our site rep does a great job communicating with us on a regular basis. Our neighborhood has contracted with three landscape/snow removal companies over the past five years and HS is clearly the best.

Horticulture Services does a beautiful job. They handle the landscaping and snow removal for the neighborhood I live in. It's a very large neighborhood in Woodbury. They are responsive and do an absolutely fantastic job. We particularly enjoy working with Jason who runs the operation. We LOVE THEM!

Company was professional with service and worked with our property manager to take care of all outstanding items from 2024.
Highly recommend working with them. Professional and fast on response. -
Horticulture Services has been managing the landscaping and snow removal in the association where I live, for the past several years. They consistently provide quality snow removal, within a reasonable amount of time of any meaningful levels of snowfall, during winter, and are conscientous of the lawn care during the summer. The employees do a thorough job and seem to take pride in the quality of work that they are providing.
-
We are finishing up our second great summer with Horticulture Services. Our lawns and shrubs look great, and our residents are very pleased with the quality of service provided. The lawn and landscape crews are efficient, careful and thorough. We are most pleased with the professionalism and the courteous manner with which they address our few minor concerns.

WARNING - DAMAGE!!!
This company is careless and does not care about your personal belongings. I have a townhome and the townhome association required all of the patrons to park on the streets so they could complete driveway sealcoating. THIS WAS MANDATORY and not by choice. I was forced to park in a designated parking spot with my brand new vehicle. Now, for the issue I have with this company....Horticulture Services was mowing and weed trimming the same morning I was required to park on the street and/or a designated parking spot. Unfortunately one of the crew members were completely CARELESS and made physical contact with his weed whip to my vehicle. This was 100% avoidable and the operator did it anyway. Just so we are clear, the parking spot had no curb and I was parked on the edge of where the pavement meets the grass. Jacob L. the person to which I reported the damage will tell you that I was parked on the grass...that is true, my back tire was parked in the grass approximately 1/4 inch (.25). The string line from the operators weed trimmer made contact with my tire causing a permanent white blemish on my brand new tire. Not a huge deal...but, the rotation of the HIGH SPEED trimmer also sprayed pebbles and sand that DAMAGED my rims.By the time I had noticed that they were working near my vehicle the employee was moving on to the next area. I immediately ran to my car to evaluate as I had a bad feeling about the worker being TOO CLOSE to my vehicle. I took pictures within 30 seconds of the worker walking away. I even confronted said worker about the incident but he was non-English speaking and I don't speak Spanish so that conversation went no where.I filed a complaint right away with my association. They replied and told me that I would need to take my complaints to Horticulture Services, which I did right away. When talking to Jacob L. from Horticulture Services I invited him out to VIEW THE DAMAGES to my car, which he never did. I did send multiple photos to Jacob showing the damages and pictures of the grass where you can CLEARLY SEE where the weed trimmer had made a distinct path leading right up to my tire. My car was covered in grass and debris. Horticulture Services has an obligation to practice DUE CARE, which unfortunately did NOT happen on this day! In fact it was quite the opposite. Jacob has agreed not to work with me and denies his crew had any wrong doing. His basic argument is that I should not have parked there and that they have a job to do, regardless of who or what is parked in the way. Well, guess what, I HAD NO OPTION, JACOB! That doesn't make it ok to be careless and destructive. I would think that with some "common sense" we would avoid such areas where damage will occur. TO MAKE MATTERS EVEN WORSE AND MORE CONFUSING....This same company was weed trimming around my townhome unit, in the front yard where there is landscaping rocks. The worker who had the trimmer full bore went up and over the divider. He hits a rock and the stone flew through the air and BROKE MY FRONT WINDOW. An accident....yes, avoidable... most likely in my opinion. But, here is where it gets strange. Jacob was more that accommodating to work with me to get the window fixed. Pretty weird, right....??? Well, his argument to that is, that it was unintentional, which I can agree with. It was an accident, yes, totally agree with... to an extent. The problem that I am having here folks, is the damage to my vehicle was NOT AN ACCIDENT, the employee had a choice to work around his setting and not cause damages. He had complete disregard to another persons personal belongings. I can't tell you how disgusting this is. THIS DIDN'T NEED TO HAPPEN....After reading through the reviews on this company, I am surprised that this company is still operating to be honest. I expect to hear from someone....anyone from this business to get this resolved quickly. Next stop BBB!!! Remember, Jacob, I was willing to work with you, but you gave me no choice to write this bad review. -
This company is the worst! We live in an association in Woodbury and unfortunately have to have this company in charge of our landscaping. Their employees continually damage, break and destroy anything you have in their way. We have had garden hoses, dog leashes, Halloween decorations, plants, yard decorations and so on completely damaged because of their careless company. I recommend staying away and never doing business with this horrendous company.

Horticultural Services has done a wonderful job for us. Our association has tried other companies and they do not compare to Horticultural Services. Other companies cut the grass and trim, but Horticultural Services works to ensure all aspects of lawn management is cared for in our association. The employees are kind, considerate and care about the work they perform. While driving around Woodbury, it is clear what landscape and yards are cared for by Horticultural Services.

Our association used Horticulture Sercices on 2 different occasions and we have never seen or dealt with such horrible service. Shane is rude and doesn't help fix errors, instead blames homeowners and doesn't take responsibility for what they have done wrong. They constantly ruined our yards with the mowers leaving big roots all over. They also wouldn't accommodate us with using non-glyphosate products like we requested, even though we said we'd pay more, due the killing of all of our trees in our community as well as being an irritant to our pets. Shane was very rude and when we tried calling the main office, we never got an answer or return call. If I could give them a 0 I would!! Steer clear of them if you want great service and your lawns to look professional.

Update 7/2025: the residents are not responsible for your crew’s holidays!
We rather be able to sleep at night and also be safe than having the grass cut short when not even needed.
And Shame on you for not even apologizing! Your crew does a great job harassing the residents peace and comfort at 9:30 pm!
Keep yourself and your crew out of our safe space at nights you greedy person! If they work here that late at night one more time, I will make sure to do whatever it takes to get rid of your company for our association. It might take time but I will do it.
Update 6/2025: they cut the grass at 9 pm. Shame on you people for having no consideration for residents. Shame on you!
Also they spray chemicals without any notice before or after. Seriously? The owner has no conscious. All greed.
Hope you get the result of your actions!

This company is the worst. They damage your property and then they claim that it’s normal. It’s not normal at all. We have lived in different associations, never had these kind of problems. They don’t train their workers for safety either. In several occasions we saw them cutting the grass without even looking where they were going. Very dangerous. No wonder they wreck anything in their way. They don’t care at all, you can obviously see it in the owners responses “some damage is normal”. How about not being greedy and hire workers with some knowledge of what they are doing? Or how about putting some hours to educate them at least for safety reasons so they won’t run over people or kids? Avoid this company if you care about your safety or if you care about your properties. -
Horticultural Services is a very good company to work with. They provide quality service at a fair price for our HOA. They have done a variety of landscaping projects in addition to their regular lawn, snow, and irrigation services. They are the third landscaping company we have had and by far the best. We are pleased with the results. Their "Task Dispatch Notification" service lets us know when their crews will be on-site and is very helpful in managing our homeowners' expectations.

Our association has had several lawncare/snow service companies over the past few years. There were good things about the companies and some issues that were unacceptable. We switched to Horticulture Services this year and have been very pleased with service, communication and lawncare-especially weed control. They did our plow service winter 23/24 and did a good job the couple times they came out. Horticulture is higher priced than the others but worth it in the long run.
-
Our townhome association had a very positive experience with a major landscaping project that was implemented by Horticulture Services. Professional, knowledgeable, responsive management. Quality shrubs and plants. We would use their services again.
-
Our homeowners association has had 3 different vendors over the past 20 years that have provided lawn and landscape and snow removal services. Horticulture Services has consistently stood out as the best on every category you can think of for these services. The communication with our association and HS is excellent and timely. We tried a different vendor once and lasted only one year - just to see what it would be like- we went back to HS and have never regretted doing so. Their working staff shows respect for individual homeowners property and the management we directly work with are "top notch". For our homeowners- HS has been the answer for this challenging service.

UPDATE******
I had photos of the damaged box as well as text messages right when the service cut off. I asked my neighbor if she had xfinity and if it just went out. The dates and times on texts can’t be altered, and it was on the day and time that their crew was working in my neighborhood.
The insurance company declined saying there wasn’t proof. So I used up 3 days of PTO, and six months of frustration trying to get them to at least take responsibility and reimburse me for the 3 days missed. Oh well- no satisfactory response*****
They do lawn and snow service in my townhome neighborhood and don’t stand behind their employees’ mistakes. The mower ran down the internet Xfinity box damaging it and causing my internet connection to stop and I missed three days of work at home. I have contacted them many times, and their insurance company who deny that their employee did it. Well it went out at the same time that the crew was mowing that section of grass, but I don’t have any photo of him hitting it because I was inside working! They don’t contact me back with any apology or offer to reimburse me for the days I had to miss. This has been going on since September of 2023! -
Dante is an awesome individual and 10/10 recommend All Weather Services!
-
Had a massive hole in the side of my hill that you could park an F150 in from some bad drainage. Needed something done before it got bigger and started in to my yard. I knew I need someone with a little bigger equipment than just a landscaper. Contacted Dante at All Weather. He came out promptly and gave me a quote which was very reasonable compared to another local company. They filled in the hole, extended the drain pipes and put boulders down to slow down the water and disperse it. Looks great. They did a great job. Would highly recommend Dante and his crew.

Excellent customer service... had yard work done next day would highly recommend
