I had an electrical issue and called John Kivel. He answered the call immediately, but was currently out of town so he could not come fix it for a week. However, after listening to the issue he explained exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He also gave me a fair upfront cost. After his explanation I was able to fix it myself. I will definitely contact and use John Kivel's services in the future.

Suffered a power outage after a bolt of lightning struck my house. Switches tripped, but a bad arc was causing a portion of my house to remain without power. Thankfully John and Connie were quick to arrive, inspect my switches, inspect my house, and fix it in no time at all. Excellent service all around. Would call on again. 😀

I had a problem with an ARC breaker that had tripped and wouldn't allow me to reset it. Wasn't sure what an ARC breaker was as opposed to a regular breaker so I thought I better have an electrician look at it. Started looking for and electrician at 3pm, called John Kivel about 3:30pm. He was on another job in my community but said he would be done soon and could stop by my house on his way home. John came by and diagnosed the problem (faulty ARC breaker) and replaced the breaker and was all done by 5:45pm. I would say that was prompt service and I am very satisfied with the outcome!

After searching for a local detail oriented electrician, I arranged a home visit for a system inspection, estimates and immediate repairs. John and Connie Kivel arrived on time, provided everything I needed and patiently answered a great many questions. I highly recommend John if you are looking for a friendly detailed oriented electrician that doesn't only practice his craft, but will help you understand as much as you want to know about your home's electricity and the science behind it; including Nikola Tesla's cork shoes.

I was very impressed with the professionalism of Kivel Electric, I left them a voicemail on Sunday evening without any anticipation they would return my call. John and Connie called back soon after and gave me suggestions over the phone. Their suggestions worked and they followed up the next morning to make sure everything was okay. Great job.

John and Connie were fantastic. Not only was he able to identify the issue in 5 minutes, but their experience allowed them to explain the different ways in which the original wiring had been installed and answer a few other questions unrelated to the original problem. I couldn't have been happier with the service and knowledge they provided. If the need should arise, we will definitely be calling them again.

John Kivel has done multiple large and small electrical jobs for me over the years. Just recently I bought a house and called him to come in and do wiring for new appliances, add lighting in the basement, and create a dedicated circuit for the microwave. He was quick to respond, did the work fast, left the area clean, and he listened to me, which seems to be rarer and rarer these days. I would never hire anyone else to work on my home electric.

I can’t recommend John enough. I had an outlet issue which turned into a multi-outlet issue (of my own doing). As a DIYer, I was hoping he’d be a “teacher” type of professional, that is - talk and walk me through each step of what he did to fix the situation, and that’s exactly what he did. His wife assists him and she was very friendly and professional as well. I’ll definitely be having John back with any future upgrades or repairs. Thank you John and Connie!

John and Connie connected our new induction cooktop; they upgraded the line so that the right amps were lined to our main breaker box as well. John is professional, very knowledgeable about requirements and code, and personable. They were very responsive to our request for service, we really appreciate their service and will be supporting their business for any electrical needs and upgrades to our home.

I needed an old outlet replaced as well as three more inspected that were installed by an amateur.

Scheduling a service call was very easy. John and Connie came out promptly at the agreed upon time and did a great job. They were also very efficient in their work and friendly. Highly recommend based on this experience.

We are selling our house and needed a couple of ceiling fixtures replaced in a hurry. We called John on a Friday. Pictures of the house were being taken on Tuesday and showings start on Thursday.
