In 2023, when I heard that Jordan had a new business, I reached out to have him help us transform my dirt only backyard. He came up with a plan to set up 6 garden beds, start grapes on the back fence and built out a swale with Honeycrisp trees. He also set up a rain barrel that watered the garden beds so all I had to do was harvest and pick a few weeds. Everything was done by the middle of spring so I had produce growing almost immediately. As a first time gardener, I had so much food! At the end of the season, we composted the remaining produce to use for 2024 planting.

I am so happy with the results!

Jordan built everything for us, planted all the produce I wanted and helped me learn how to be a gardener. I have an amazing backyard now!

We’re so happy with our edible landscaping! Jordan and his team did such an amazing job and were so great to work with. We had a smaller plot of land to work with but they were able to incorporate pear trees, apple trees, strawberries, honey berries, gooseberries, blueberries, raspberries, asparagus, and hops onto our space. We had a wonderful experience working with Jordan, Tim and crew. Jordan patiently walked us through each step, from deciding on the scope of the project, to our philosophy on how natural the process would be, to our design. He was great at suggesting plants that would work well with our soil and sunlight, and of course plants that work together to create a beautiful and productive foodscape. The flowers have attracted hummingbirds, butterflies and tons of pollinators, and have somehow made weeding enjoyable. Our project started in the spring and we've already harvested peaches, cherries, apples, ground cherries, herbs and all sorts of berries! These guys are pros.

I’ve used their service since last summer and had to fire them today. Several reasons why it happened

- expensive for the service that is NOT PROVIDED
- not responsive to customer needs
- very poor communication
- absolutely terrible customer service

This is an honest review , and I definitely tried to give them a second chance . They treated my property for weed control including landscaping beds (at least I think they did). Then, despite that, some of the areas remained with weeds blooming. I called them initially- the lady Judy on my question if someone can come out and look at it said -no, they do service once a month; she was also kinda indifferent to my simple request . Then, the broken line started - she would call Richard and he would talk to her and she would call me with a worthless answer . She even asked me to SEND HER PICTURES AS A PROOF THAT THER ARE WEEDS ON MY YARD . I mean, has anyone heard of such a thing?- a CUSTOMER CALLS WITH A PROBLEM , please ADMIT IT AND DO A BETTER JOB. I would not call if I didn’t have an issue. Even if for some reason I am mistaken please be professional and respond accordingly. Then, they said to communicate via email. Which I did. My weeds were still spreading, and someone- I assume Richard - told me that they came and treated my property. I don’t think it happened - but he said they did . I said ok, will see if the situation would get better . It didn’t . I called today, no answer, left VM. Called again towards the end of the day, no answer , left another VM. Finally, Judy called me back.

That’s it . Not interested - why, what’s the reason.
Anyhow- very disappointed I am with all of this. I am a huge fan to support local businesses but these guys don’t listen to their customers and I feel like they don’t even care. Based on other reviews I am not the only one with similar complaints.

Update: it is a response to Richard, to his interesting remarks. You did not call me, you did not leave any VM. Yes, we did conversed via emails without significant progress though . That’s the problem- you never listened to me and tried to just argue and prove to me that you did the service on my property . Yes, you asked to meet and discuss , but at that point I was done your business, way done .
And you still charged me full price even though I told you that i agreed to pay only for sprinkle and mosquito service . That proves everything said above. If you want make thing right - refund me for the service that was very suboptimal. But I doubt you will do it .

Our yard looks better than it has in years. We were able to work together to find a plan that worked best for our budget. We get fast and knowledgeable answers to our questions.

Said they had to talk to their boss about the services I was requesting because they weren’t sure they did them (weeding and weed preventative) but never followed up with me. They also do not provide free consultations like other companies I’ve contacted.

I used Hansens for a fall cleanup. I was very impressed with how great of a job they did. Have used many other companies and Hansens for sure has been the best. Will be using them from now on!!!!

Richard and his crew do a wonderful job. I’ve seen his business grow from lawn mowing to a comprehensive lawn maintenance operation including aeration, fertilizer and weed control. Great guy to do business with and looking forward to another summer.

Hired this service to help with my 86 yr old mother's lawn and snow removal. They were THE BEST!!! Reasonably priced and very dependable. Could not have done a better job! Six stars out of five.

Highly recommend. They provide fast and high-quality service. The rates are also very reasonable. They do work for our home and our neighbors as well.

I reached out to Hansen's Lawn Care late in the season, and explained that due to some surgery I needed to have I would not be able to take care of my lawn or the rest of the season. Hansen's came to my aid and exceeded my expectations. I am particular about my lawn, and they did a better job cutting & trimming than I do. Thanks!

I got a few different quotes and information from different lawn companies. Hansen's responses were very detailed as they answered all my many questions about their services. They were professional and kind! I would highly recommend!

My first cut by Hansen’s wasn’t ideal. Missed / skipped trimming a number of spots including a downspout that is super easy to move and along a fence. Also scalped a big spot next to my driveway as they were cutting too short. My jury is still out but wasn’t a good first impression.

Update: my 2nd and 3 cuts did not improve as the game a dad after 1”+ of rain and they tore up my yard and failed to even trim around downspouts....the same one 3 times.

I would strongly recommend finding a different option.

UPDATE: With regard to your/Hansen’s response on 6/4, I had responded in email that trimming was missed, scalping etc. after the first cut. After the 2nd cut I email that the cut was “so so”. After the 3rd cut I sent a note that it was too wet for them to cut and went over all the problems. You simply said you would take me off the list wanted me to confirm if that meant the fertilizing as well. You DID NOT offer to come out or fix the poor cuts. So it seems your reply is a ploy to try to CYA with those who may read my review.

My wife had a similar bad experience with Hansen's in August 2015. We wouldn't give them any stars for the way we were treated. Google made us give them one. We run a business. When you make a commitment, you should follow through. That wasn't our experience with this company.

Richard and his team are high quality experts in lawn care and snow removal. Super courteous and willing to customize his services to make it work best for everyone. Proud to support a veteran owned business too!

I highly recommend Hansen's Lawn Care for snow plowing!! Richard and Jay Jay have been terrific. They are always pleasant and accommodating. They not only plow out our three car driveway but they also shovel the sidewalk up to the front door. Richard always comes in a timely fashion so we can get out. We have called him several times when we had to get to work early in the morning or get in and out of our driveway and he comes right away. There were a few times when there were less than two inches of snow so Richard did not plow, however,
because we live in the first house on the curve in a cul-de-sac, we get a HUGE pile of snow when the city plow comes. I called Richard and he made a special trip to plow out the end of our drive way so we could get out. For the times there were at least two inches of snow, he made a special trip again after the plow came to clear the end of our driveway. Talk about excellent customer service and responding to our needs!!!

We've had very good luck with Richard and his crew. They are reliable, respond promptly when texted with issues, the pricing is reasonable, and they stand behind their work. And we'll continue with them again this season.

If Google would let me I would probably give 4 3/4 stars. We've had some issues with sprinkler heads (their zero turn machines don't seem to like mine), although in fairness Richard has replaced them all at his cost. And we've had some issues with weed control in spots. There again, Richard has always followed up and made it right.

I think the bottom line is, Richard has been fair and responsive, and that's head and shoulders above some of the other services we've used in the past. I have no hesitation in recommending Hansen's to friends.
