Home Builder reviews in Ballwin, Missouri

Adding to my review: turns out that my subdivision owns 20 feet past the creek. 20 feet that Rolwes tore down mature trees without permission or care. I've had no hummingbirds visit my feeder this year and I strongly feel it's due to the trees that Rolwes ripped from the ground.

My experience is from the neighborhood they are currently building in Troy, Missouri- however, I would still watch out. I am sure if they are pulling this stuff over here they will pull it anywhere else too.
Absolutely disappointing experience with this company. After investing significant money into our home, we've been left dealing with serious issues that continue to be ignored.
Recently, they began using explosives for construction because they claim there is too much rock to continue digging. This decision has caused what feel like earthquake-level blasts, resulting in multiple cracks in several homes that are still brand new and that Rowles is not coming to fix. These are not minor cosmetic issues; they are costly and concerning structural problems.
Prior to this, there were already various issues throughout the neighborhood. I was patient and understanding, but this situation has gone too far. Residents have raised concerns, yet communication has been extremely poor, and many people feel completely ignored.
To make matters worse, there are now plans to build apartments behind homes where buyers specifically paid premiums for lots with open space. Despite strong opposition from residents, it feels like our input does not matter now that the company has already been paid.
Rowles is now threatening to sue the city to push the project through.
It's incredibly frustrating and disheartening to feel like homeowners are being treated this way after making such a large investment. I strongly encourage others to carefully explore all options before choosing to work with this company. -
If you are considering this builder, recommendation is to re-consider. if you have already visited their home sites, and you are considering giving this builder your hard earned money... DON'T
DO NOT WALK... RUN AWAY
our experience: quick build, subpar materials, poor quality of work by all trades, significant foundation issues, extremely poor communication; consistent statements of "i don't know why you were told that, but..." or promises of dates of completion for work and then no show, because we all have time for that.
it has become clear that once Rolwes receives your money at closing, you are no longer of important to them. If they do say they will repair something, it takes months and several calls & to them & their vendors to get done, no one should have to contact contractors, that's why you hire a builder.
Our build is a PIG WITH LIPSTICK...starts out looking really good, and then the problems start coming and Rolwes could not care any less about the POS they just built for you.
This is regarding Providence Estates in Foristell, I am certain their lame practices aren't any different in any other community they're slapping together and not taking responsibility for.
i recommend you heavily vet Rolwes before proceeding to do business with them, visit communities, get feedback from current homeowners.
~signed, I have a $400k item i'd like to return please.
side note: it made me choose a star to rating before i could post, it did not allow for negative stars. -
Honestly please read the bad reviews because this is the worst builder. They truly do not care the moment they have your down payment. They have done a crappy job the entire time. They have lied and misrepresented to many time to count. Switch contractors 3 or 4 times all promising something that never happened. From flooring problems to structural to the worst yard on the block. Every time I see a potential buyer I want to scream RUN!

Everyone I have worked with has not only been motivated and enthusiastic, they have also been great parts of the whole team. I really appreciate the customer-forward service and attitude.

I've been a member of the Rolwes team since 2018 and I cannot recommend this builder enough.
Before I started working with Rolwes, I was like most people and thought that all builders are created equal - I quickly learned that nothing is further from the truth. The homes that Rolwes builds are quality construction and our process is about as transparent as it can get. Not every builder can say that.
I do not wish to take anything from any of the other reviewers, but I will say their accounts are the exception and not the rule. No organization is perfect, but this one really does try. -
Notice that the good reviews posted here are not for Rowles Homes, it's for their subcontractor. this builder is a scam. The contract says they can take up to two years to build your home...and they do take every day of TWO YEARS!! Run dnot walk to the nearest good builder. they take your earnest money and refuse to return it. You must go through arbitration. when I tried to get an attorney, they are all in Robles pocket. 7 different attorneys refused to represent anyone because of a conflict of interest, So Rowles is using the earnest money to retain one lawyer at every firm in MO so you can't even sue them!! Please heed this warning.

We have not been impressed yet.
We signed the contract in March of 2024 but they still have not started building the house.
It is impossible to " drive by" the building site because we live out of state.
A realtor told me that a home builder is legally bound to complete the house within 12 months of the signed contract. -
Submitted a contract proposal that was ultimately incorrect by the sales office - offering an incentive incorrectly that has now made a home purchase decision become an unacceptable and unconscionable debacle.
The decision to rescind an $8,800 dollar option and increase the selling price of the home has not only been thrown away but the district manager (Brett) applied issues on the basis able - 20 percent deposit and a mortgage approval - based on the fact that I had a cash deal. Not to mention, the information on the contingency proposal has been thrown off the table - and upon me asking Brett, "what are you doing to rectify this situation like nothing you would do regularly for another person" - he responded , "I'm not". " All are treated equal"
Ironically - who would ever think an all cash deal would cause so many issues - not to mention the company doesn't even try to make the issue right. Instead they answer with a generic response - yet they haven't attempted to answer the "real and underlying issue" - that probably warrants a complete HUD complaint.....
