I have had a HVAC maintenance contract with Academy Air for several years since they bought out Awtrey Heating and Cooling, who installed my furnace and AC. Please be aware that if you sign up for a maintenance contract with them, you WILL NOT EVER get your appointment kept on the scheduled date. They will call you and give you some line about being shorthanded and reschedule you at least once. They give you a halfday window that they can show up in, so plan on taking off at least two half days to wait for them to get around to you. Today was the last time-actively looking around for another company.

We had a whole new HVAC system put in 5 yrs ago by Academy. We also bought into the maintenance program where they come out every year to make sure everything works. Well a few months we called to have service done and they said our program had elapsed and we hadnt renewed it. Weird that they hadnt called to tell us it had lapsed so we signed up again and made appt for a service tech to come out. First thing he said was.."hey your furnace doesnt have a filter!" We had called months ago because we had no idea how to change or where the filter even was, but the lady said they were really busy and it would be a couple of months before they could come out and help us to find where the filter went. Long story short, not having a filter for a long time caused a bunch of other issues, both in the furnace and the AC unit. Plus they said we needed to have our vents cleaned and for the low low sum of around $2,000 they could take care of all our issues. I told the service tech we'd pass on all that, and asked him why didnt they call us when our maintenance agreement ended...every other company bugs us to death when any agreement ends. He said they used to do it, but now with so many customers they dont have time for that. AHA..so its more profitable to allow those maint. agreements to lapse so they can bill for issues that normally would be FREE because of the maintenance agreement. Gotcha..too many customers? Well, let me help you out Academy...you now have one less.

I was charged $4800.00 to have a hot water heater replaced and now they want to charge me another $1000.00 to replace the pressure valve! The water pressure was fine with the old water heater, pressure immediately reduced when they put the new hot water heater in. The lady Jen that I just talked to From management at Academy Air said that when the water was not running, the pressure was good once the water started running the pressure got bad well usually you check the pressure when the water is running really sounds like I'm getting a run around! I personally think that you should look at other companies, this company in my opinion has big problems especially with customer service and support!

We rearranged our Saturday to accommodate the service for plumbing. After he was late, he told me he didn't have the right parts to do the job. It was one simple valve and he couldn't even explain to me why he couldn't do it. He just said he couldn't get the valve until Monday. Any hardware stores carry these valves. JOE VETTER is his name so I would request someone with the ability to actually do the job. I don't recommend ACADEMY for anything other then disappointment

An AI bot calls you up, says your name wrong five times, takes your information, sets an appointment to come out to tell you how much it will cost and then says there is a huge fee just to come out !!! Deal with real people who want to help you, not these guys!! If you cannot communicate honestly, I don't want to use your business.

I recently had two electricians come and take a look at bad Tesla charger. They both we're professional and kind. They got the work done fast and they even cleaning up afterword so I could pull my car back in immediately afterward. The one problem i have is some of the prices they charge are a little to high for the area.

If I could give 0 stars I would. After scheduling a sewer repair the tech performing the work realized the estimate was not correct. They then provided an updated estimate that was 4x the original. After declining the work I was refused a partial refund for services not rendered. This company should be ashamed. Please do yourself a favor and learn from my bad experience and go elsewhere for your plumbing needs.

The entire team was professional, courteous, have expertise. Excellent craftsmanship, dedicated, honest, knowledgeable hard working team.

They have sent repair technicians to my home with minimal delay, even during very hot periods when you would expect they would be very busy.
