They came out after another company extremely overcharged me and under performed a service call. These guys are alway professional and honest and I would highly recommend them to everyone. They got my unit going and didn’t charge me for the initial visit, they told me to make sure it was performing to my standards and would bill me later if I was happy with what they had done. My wife used some type of app that scheduled/bid jobs to come service our AC system because everything was working but blowing warm air in the house. Academy Air came out and did some basic troubleshooting and did point out one thing that Mr. Wolfmeier agreed was true my (A coil) evaporator coil was turn to the side that was not accessible to service/check for blockage because the previous owner drywalled off that area. Academy Air never really checked the coolant level with any gages that I could tell. Basically checked Amperage and other things. Said that they believed that there must be some type of clog/restrictions in the condenser unit outside and it is pulling too much amperage of 10 amps. They said my system is old and probably should be replaced. Quoted me about $9,000 to replace it.

I felt like I needed a second opinion on that diagnosis.

I spoke with a business customer of mine that is a trustworthy family owned business in the area. They use him Wolfmeier for their business and home, they highly recommended Wolfmeier.

I called them and spoke with Paula and she coordinated everything through phone calls and text with me and Mr. Wolfmeier was at my house the next afternoon. He put gages on my coolant lines said I was no where near low on coolant. He debunked the amperage of 10 amps on the condenser unit by it has a manufacturer label stating it does about 18 amps. He investigated more of inside the house at the furnace/coil area. Like I said he mentioned and agreed with Academy Air that evaporator coil is not accessible. He recommended me before going too deep into this to try and cut an opening in the drywall that was in my laundry room in the basement to make that evaporator coil more accessible. He said if you open that backside you might the root of the problem in there with clogged dirt and hair.

He offered competitive prices if certain parts needed replaced but would need access to that evaporator coil if I just needed that part replaced.

I took his advice and cut a box shape square in the laundry room. Opened the backside of the furnace/AC and saw the evaporator coil(A coil). It looked clean and almost like brand new. But there was an area under it to access the inside of the A coil which I found was root of the problem which was totally clogged with hair and dirt that made it's way past the filter over the years. I cleaned the area inside of the coil and has been blowing cold air in my house ever since.

He was right. He knows what he is talking about and just good people to do business with. I'm going to recommend to all my friends, family and possibly local customers I deal with on a daily basis because I deal with a lot of grocery stores and restaurants that might be looking for some help/support.

Great service. I was quoted $280 per pound of coolant for my ac by academy air. Wolfmeier was only $80 per pound and they were able to come out the same day I called them. Great people and will definitely use again.

My AC unit broke down yesterday with us facing this wknd being the hottest temperatures so far this year. They were able to squeeze me in right away and got my unit up and running but I still needed a part. Came back this morning and replaced the part (used part, but did not charge me for it) and the AC is running great now. I cannot say enough about their professionalism and Brian was so friendly and honest. Paula who answers the phone was so nice. We have been thinking of replacing our whole HVAC system and will be calling them to do it. You will not be disappointed using this company.

They did an excellent job!, highly professional, took the time to explain what went wrong and the options to repair or replace..even installed my smart thermostat.i would strongly recommend them!...very pleased!

Update: 8/2022, called them out to service my outside unit, the same person who installed it 5 yrs ago, just showed me how to dismantle it and clean it, no charge, thus reaffirming my first review, locally owned and simply the best!, they have a customer in me,for many years to come!

The service man came out and got our a/c working and cleaned it in basically under thirty minutes. Very nice and professional. I appreciate that they came earlier then scheduled. Great prices and service, would highly recommend.

Excellent and fast service for reasonable rates. During our hottest days so far this Summer, I called on Wednesday afternoon because our air conditioning was not cooling. Paula at the office was very helpful. They came out Thursday afternoon, replaced a bad heating relay, and fixed it in less than an hour! Very professional, courteous, and affordable service rates. Adding to my initial 5 star review. Our new air conditioner we had installed last November wasn’t turning on. Brian was here within hours of us calling and got it fixed in no time. Very honest, fairly priced and easy to work with company.

Love Brian and this company! They have took care of our old unit for years by charging it for us each summer... Always come quickly if we needed them for a repair.
This year we finally replaced the old noisy monster and it is wonderful! Such a difference in size and so quiet and blowing very cold air! We are so grateful! They also took care of all the paperwork for our Ameren rebate and tax credit. Highly recommend these people! So happy we finally did this! They took all the old stuff away and everything was cleaned up and so nice. Brian even went through the house and shut all the windows for us and turned it on and it was nice and cool when we arrived home! Great experience.....Thank you!
