About the business:
John and Kristi Schuller established JR Roofing in Iowa in 1986. It was later incorporated and in 2000 expanded its service area to the Kansas City, Missouri, area, later changing its name to JR & Co, Inc.
While visiting family in Canada, JR saw the opportunity to take what he had perfected to a completely new market. So, he moved north and started a new company.
In JR's absence, his protégé, Jonathan Schilling, was promoted from the field. He immediately began to instill the values he learned growing up and during his military service, transforming JR & Co. into a "why" company. Jon also had the vision to invest in sheet metal capabilities, as a complement to roofing. With an employee base now over 200 strong, we moved our corporate headquarters to a mid-town Kansas City location.
Our growth over the past 3 years earned JR&CO. both regional and national recognition as we were chosen one of KC's fastest growing companies according to Ingram's Magazine and the KC Business Journal.
