Constraction reviews in Kirkwood, Missouri

My experience was incredible. Julie and Bob listened to what we wanted, made great suggestions and our project completely exceeded our expectations. We are in love with our front yard, new porch and back entertainment area. It was worth every penny to come home to a yard that blows me away. Working with Julie and Bob and ALL their staff was a great experience. Our project was prioritized and on time. Can't say enough good things.

I used Kirkwood Home and Landscaping to build a small retaining wall and garden bed. I selected them to do the project because they could build the wall and also modify the irrigation system to irrigate the garden. We travel and keeping potted plants healthy during our absence has been problematic. I had a design in mind when I was requesting bids. Bob made a design change that was much better than mine. The crew were polite and professional and the quality of the work was very good. That being said; to avoid any misunderstandings, I advise AGAINST using a "Time and Material" agreement for any project.

My backyard used to be baron and boring. Kirkwood Home and landscaping came and transformed it into an oasis. The level of professionalism and expertise was refreshing. The design ideas from Hardscape to soft scape were spot on. They listen to me and what I wanted and made it very special. From the workers that came in the hundred degree weather with their great attitude to the office and owners. This has been one of the best experiences I’ve had working with the company. I highly recommend this company.

If you want great professional service, look no further..we look forward to working with you again soon! Thanks!

Very professional, prompt and high quality work! EXTREMELY reliable. Highly recommend and will be using him again!

Spotwood performed a great renovation on my house. Outstanding service and communication. Very reasonable pricing, too!

Lawson is a true craftsman. Professional and cheerfully friendly. Coordinates with you if there needs to be a change in the original plan.

Lawson and team are phenomenal. If you are looking for a contractor that is trustworthy, talented and on time, this is the company to use!

It has been a pleasure working with Lawson! Fast and high quality work! We would highly recommend him and his crew!

Highly recommend Spotwood Construction! They did great work repairing water damage (drywall, trim, paint & flooring). They are responsive, timely, courteous, and respectful of your home.

I had a gym built out and he was fantastic. On time, responsive, and quality work. Showed up on time everyday and was quiet, clean and professional. The work and the price was right too. Given all of this I will definitely recommend to friends and will use him again.

We lost the contractor who was set to stain our fence last minute so I contacted Spotwood to see if they could help. They had someone out within the week! They did a great job, were very respectful, and left the job site spotless.

Finding Lawson Harris/Spotwood Construction was so incredibly timely and helpful!
His experience background was and will be perfect for all our needs with “this old house” in Kirkwood!
He doesn’t disappoint!

I had a great experience with Lawson at Spotwood Construction. He did some repair work to my basement stairs and I am very happy with the results. Fast and high quality work!

Communication was not great. I found myself asking for updates on several things and after days when there was no action. Workers left paint splatter on several areas of hardwood floors, sliding door, counter tops, and didn't complete paint job in several places. Wall paint color made it on door trim on several doors. Well after painting was "done" workers still had left every light switch and wall outlet without a faceplate on leaving live wires accessible on main floor. During paint workers needed to shift around washer and either had to detach or pulled washer far enough out that the drain line to wall drain was left loose. To my surprise when I ran a load of laundry I heard water draining onto the laundry room floor and running all the way down the basement wall pooling on basement floor. Workers poured some kind of solution on my driveway that i can hopefully power spray off but it left two large stains on the concrete. Workers left dirty fingerprints around new light fixtures. We asked for soft close hinges for kitchen cabinets, after 1st size didnt work, instead of taking the time to search for easy to find correctly sized replacement hinges, the solution was to install soft dampers which involved drilling additional holes into the cabinets. I had to finally end the total scope of work early due to the poor quality of work I had seen on things thus far. I hired Spotwood to do a laundry list of things I didn't want to do but now wish I had gone ahead and done them myself. I can't speak for everything Lawson/Spotwood advertises services for as im sure his specialties excel somewhere else, but for basic general contract items I would not recommend and would never let him or his workers back into my house even if the work was offered for free.

Lawson has been so extremely professional, kind, accommodating, and efficient. He worked With us for a long project, and was always on time and responsive. Would highly recommend and will request him in the future!

Lawson was so amazing to work with! He did a great job on our butler’s pantry / mudroom in our first home. He worked within our budget, sent us consistent updates, and was a great communicator!

Lawson and his team at Spotwood Construction are phenomenal! They are responsive, timely and do incredible work. The worked with us on a variety of projects and I am excited to have them to continue to work with us.

Lawson with Spotwood has worked on our home this year, on multiple occasions. His work is top notch, he communicates well, and provides honest and careful assessments that accompany his excellent craftsmanship. I’d recommend Spotwood without hesitation!

We had a leak in my son’s bathroom that we could not figure out. we hired Spotwood and they were able to diagnose the precise issue and fix the problem! The main issue was the previous contractor had used the wrong material in the shower. Spotwood came in and totally waterproofed the shower and tub while giving the bathroom a complete remodel and update. This was a total gut rehab to the studs and replacing some sub-flooring. They even uncovered some shoddy work and were able to take care of it. They were a pleasure to work with; timely, neat (had no idea they would clean up their workspace each day) and professional. I felt very comfortable having them work on the bathroom while I was away at work. The bathroom looks incredible now, it was time for a refresh anyway. Fairly priced for guys that actually show up!

Spotwood has completed two projects at our home, and we are very pleased with both! Lawson is great to work with, and offered great suggestions and solutions to redesign the layout of our kitchen, bathroom, mudroom and office.
