About the business:
Our passion began 50 years ago when a young dental student followed his passion and transferred to the horticulture program at Kansas State University. Ron Nelson opened the doors of the first store at 85th street and Farley as a wholesale growing facility providing other outlets with high-quality gift plants, like Poinsettias and Mums.
This love for plants has since evolved into three retail locations; with the acquisition of the Shawnee store in 1981 and Liberty location in 1988 joining the Overland Park location.
With over 100 full and part-time employees, under the helm of Ron's son Eric since 2007, Family Tree Nursery continues to provide superior products with the knowledge, service and experience to back it up.
