Our situation was a bit different. We had used a product on our deck for many years that we really liked. Then the company discontinued it for a "new and improved" product, which was AWFUL. We have tried to figure out how to fix our deck for the last couple of years. Then a big storm hit us in May of this year (2020), and we had damage to our deck so the insurance company was going to pay to fix it. However, we had some other damage (lots of trees went down) that the insurance wouldn't cover, so we wanted to try to fix our deck ourselves to save some of the insurance money. So we wound up calling Oscar just to ask advice. He came highly recommended by a deck building company. I asked if he minded me picking his brain in regards to how to strip the awful mess we had and what would he use to stain it with. Not only did he kindly give me great advice on what products to use, but also HOW to use them. He gave me advice on do's and don'ts of each product and why he uses them and likes them. He spent about half an hour on the phone with me, even going so far as to hunt down the closest place to where I live (Lebanon, MO.) that I could buy these products. We are almost finished stripping our deck, and it is looking beautiful. And, it was relatively easy to do, with very little mess and the product was not expensive. (We have a 500 sq. ft. deck, and the stripper was about $40.) When my husband was purchasing the stain the clerk said, "You can't go wrong with this stain. It's foolproof. I've TRIED to mess it up, and wasn't able to. You'll really like it." So we are really excited about staining the deck. We're sure it's going to turn out well. Just want to say there aren't many businessmen who will spend time with you knowing they aren't going to make a dime from you, but still treated you with great respect and gave us valuable information that he could easily have withheld because he was getting nothing. I hope there are a lot of people out there that will use this gentleman to do their work. He's a class act, and deserves to have all the business he can handle. After we finish our deck, I will try to post a picture.

It is now about 2 weeks later and we have just finished our deck. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.
