When our well went out they where very prompt coming out and looking at it. They were able to replace the pump the next day. A couple days after the install there was an issue. They came back out and made it right. I recommend this company for any of your well needs.

We were given a wide range of quotes depending on what issues might come up. They were all very nice and professional. I was very happy with the service we received. Thing aren't always visible when dealing with plumbing issues and I'm glad they gave us ranges of what could happen.

Horrible to deal with. They came out to our property and quoted us $1000 to fix the existing pump. Which would have been fine..except when they were all finished we got a bill for $3800...which is over 3 times the amount they initially told us. When we inquired about it, the office staff, Heidi, was rude and said "I dont know what to tell you." I was warned by others to stay away from this company, and I should have listened. Its been nothing but an uphill battle with them and this ridiculously high bill. Consider yourself warned!

BEWARE of Hewitt Messenger! Seriously, if you can choose another company... do it! I would have loved someone to warn me about them so I'm passing on the warning. They have been a nightmare and I wouldn't want any other home owner to endure this. Had them out in January claiming I needed a new pump and a leak. I paid that bill and the same symptoms happened again in July so I called them back only to experience 4 days(!!) of low/no water and 6 or 7 different diagnosis' changing every hour! Found the workmen on my property asleep in their truck. They were so incompetent. :( LONG STORY. End result they billed me for everything over again, they broke a line with their truck and billed me for it! Billed me for things I didn't request of them, and the owner came out to my home to chat with me and said he'd decide and get back with me the next day. He didn't, and has ignored my phone call and email now for a month! Dishonest and incapable company.

Hewitt Messenger drilled our well less than a year ago. Four months after they installed the well, my entire family ended up with ecoli. We had our water tested by the county and our well tested positive for ecoli and coliform. Hewitt came out and treated the water and then tested it three times after the treatment. Hewitt tried charging me over $400 for them to treat and test the well. The owner originally said we would not have to pay. All the water tests done by Hewitt came back negative for ecoli. I however got it tested by the county and their test came up positive. We had a geological researcher for the state come out and run various tests for two months only to be told he couldn’t find the source of the problem. So now we are stuck with a $13,000 well that has brown water and ecoli and Hewitt won’t fix it for free.

Update - We put in a UV system and not even 24 hours later we lost all water pressure. Hewitt came out on a Sunday and the man that came out was there 30 minutes and told us he couldn’t do anything. I asked how we were supposed to get or use any water until then and his response was “I guess you’ll have to live like people in a third world country and bring your water in with buckets from the well spout.” He also took pictures of our UV system and said that one of his coworkers would get a good laugh out of how it was apparently installed wrong. He said we would owe over $300 for his 30 minute visit. We figured out, no thanks to Hewitt, that one of the plastic pipes underground was not put in deep enough per code and it was not sealed properly. The entire pipe was bust open underground.

They will install and take your money but they are NASTY if you want them to service your well afterwards. The receptionist is extremely hateful. They DID finally agree to send someone AFTER being HATEFUL and several phone calls. We just decided we would find someone else.

Hewitt-Messenger has done a good number of things for me over the last 15 years. They have replace a pumped after a lightning strike, shocked a well for me, fixed a pressure tank problem, and installed two water softeners for me. The work has been top notch and efficient. Their work has been in budget, on time and top quality. I will use them again and will not hesitate to recommend to others.

I called Hewitt-Messenger a couple of weeks ago. We are purchasing a new home and we are not from this area. We know nothing about wells, etc. I spoke with Heidi and she educated me on so much! We hadn't spent one single dime with this company and I was so impressed with her that I put it in the contract of the sale that we only wanted Hewitt-Messenger in Springfield to service our soon to be new home. I called Heidi numerous times that day and she never once seemed frustrated or disturbed. Good customer service is so hard to come by. I'm also in the customer service business and I don't give shout outs to just anyone, but she deserves it. Thank you so much Heidi!!!

We are building a house (hopefully our first and last) and needed a well. I don't know much about wells so called Hewlitt-Messenger as they seemed to be more professional than another local company who was less expensive.

Andy the manager came out and we talked about where we wanted the well and well house. It was to be behind a shed mostly out of view with a freeze less faucet next to the concrete well house. Andy said that way it would not start leaning over the years as those faucets tend to do.

We ended up with the well house not level, not square and not behind the shed. The freeze less faucet is not next to well house either.

One of the employees, Jesse, was extremely unhelpful and grumpy. He would ask me a question such as where I wanted the well house and when I answered he acted like I was stupid. I finally explained if I knew how all of this worked and how to do it, I wouldn't have called a well company. He was actually so rude that Rob the excavator operator stepped in to talk to him about what needed to be done.

Business is booming right now so I am not sure if you will get good service from any well company.

UPDATE!!

I posted this review after I had emailed Heidi at Hewitt-Messenger and had not heard back. About a month after posting this review, I received a call from Richard.

Richard told me he, his wife and the bank owns the company and apologized for not getting back to me sooner. He also added that Andy. the manager, had been on a two week vacation so he was unable to discuss my well with him. Richard said he showed Andy my photographs. Andy agreed this was nothing like we had agreed on. Richard wanted to make it right at no cost to me.

Richard and Andy were pleasant and let me vent about Jesse a little bit. They sent out Dave and Josh ( I specifically stated rather not have Jesse back on my property if possible) and they moved the well house.

Josh and Dave were pleasant and put everything the way it was supposed to be. Richard and Andy stood behind their word and it is appreciated.

We have water again thanks to these folks. I spoke with 2 other companies before calling Hewitt Messenger and I wish I would have just called them in the beginning! The first company couldn't get us back up and running until the next week and we had already been without water to the house and our farm for 2 days. The second company made it clear that they didn't need our business and we were at their mercy. Hewitt Messenger showed up, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in 2 hours at a fraction of the price quoted by the other 2 companies. Thank you guys so much! Our well works better than when we first bought the place.

No issues, we’re way out in the middle of nowhere and they still made it all come together perfectly

We would give 0 stars if we could. They charged us $210 to shock our well. Did not provide instructions on what to do after the bleach was added. Shocking did not work. I asked them to do it right, they said they could come back out for another $210. Also, we asked for quotes on a UV filter and new well cap. They never got back to us. Poor service. Do not even waste your time and money.

We called Hewitt after our breaker for or well house kept tripping, we got them out here to address the issue within the day I called. Two awesome gentleman showed up, helped figure out where the short was in our wires in our well house and managed to get our well back up and pumping without tripping!

Our water was out unexpectedly. Call around 3pm and Lonnie and Nate were out first thing the next morning. So thankful for there experience and getting to the root out the problem. We have water before noon! Thank you guys so much!

Had to pull my pump to repair the check valve and repair a cracked pipe. They worked as a team to pull my pump from 430 feet. Work was preformed professional and on time. For well issues call them.
