Mark came over to check out my chimney this past winter. It had been used infrequently in the 8 years that we've owned the house and last winter smoke didn't seem to be drafting up and out the chimney properly. I wanted to be able to use it this year but, alas, Mark diagnosed that the flue is way too small to have been used at all! (The house is over 100 years old...) He recommended a gas insert and he did a great job cleaning it as well as he could. Obviously, not the news I wanted to hear. It's Spring now and I'm still figuring out what I want to do as I'd really want to keep a wood-burning fireplace.

They came out to replace my chimney cap that blew off during strong winds. Very reasonable price, and they were quick.

We had Mark come out for a second time to clean (sweep) our chimney. We have a lot of fires and it's great to know everything has been checked out by a pro. Mark does an outstanding job and leaves the house cleaner than when he arrives. He does a thorough inspection and you can trust that anything he recommends is really needed and not an upsell. Very unusual in that field.

St Louis Chimney Co cleaned my wood-burning fireplace 2-3 years ago. Time got away from me and I just had them come back this year. Both times, they arrived as scheduled and did a great job. There was no mess when done and I got full report and instructions. This time there was something that needs to be repaired, and they provided full explaination, pictures and fair price estimate for the repair (with no pressure to do it). I will use them again!

Mark was our chimney specialist, he was very honest and helpful and most importantly professional! He gave great advice and answered all of our questions. You can tell Mark really likes chimneys just by the way he talks about them, which I really enjoyed and appreciated!

STL Chimney responded quickly to my request for a quote and booked the chimney sweeping as soon as they had an opening. They called before leaving, arrived 5 min early, and finished 10 minutes before they estimated. The house was spic and span afterward, they were incredibly efficient and professional, and they even gave tips on getting the most out of our fireplace.

I had some major repairs done to my chimney (both inside and outside), and was very impressed with Chris and his team, and also with Mark who did the initial bid. Mark took lots of pictures of the inside and outside of the chimney so I could see in detail the areas that needed repair.
During pandemic times when you need to limit the amount of people in your home, I felt safe with his team as they wore masks while inside and limited their contact to the fireplace itself.
They showed up when they said they were going to show up, did the job correctly the first time and did a good job cleaning up everything afterwards.
Chris and his team definitely have a lot of knowledge about chimneys and love to educate their customers on the safest ways to use their fireplace.

I highly recommend STL Chimney. They responded promptly to my service request, and the Inspector, Mark, was fantastic. He was on time for the appointment and even called beforehand when he was on his way. I had so many questions for him, and he happily answered every one. He was extremely helpful with his suggestions and offered multiple options. Plus he was very friendly and nice to my dogs, which is always a plus. I received the inspection report the same day. Could not have had a better experience.

I contracted STL Chimney to install a gas insert in an existing fireplace. They did all of the necessary repairs, including install of a more secure chimney top. During the process, we ran in to several snags - there was a lot of coordination which needed to happen between them, the certified gas (plumbing) guy, and the electrician. A few missteps occurred during this process. However, Chris took full and absolute responsibility for all of it. He was the consummate professional. In the end, I got exactly what I needed and the insert is in and looks fantastic. He possesses extreme attention to detail and his guys have great technical proficiencies - from design to repairs, to even masonry skills. They did a wonderful job.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. First I will say they sent me the wrong inception report which i called and let them know and i was sent the corrected one but then they refunded our money even though we did not ask for it even though we needed a proof of payment receipt for our home buyer's (the ENTIRE reason for needing to do any of this at all. Then on to the worst part.. the inspector Mark (nice and honest guy) told us that the issues were fairly minor but unfortunately their company wouldn't take care of the type of work we would need done due to the age of the fireplace. Then i receive a quote for almost $4,000 from the owner claiming our only option is total replacement. What a scam. I get you need to make money but you are screwing people over. How do i know this? I had another company come out and we had to fix one thing which he fixed in 20 minutes and passed our inspection entirely. Now you tell me how that adds up. DON'T CALL THESE PEOPLE.
