About the business:
Like so many in 1885, Thies Farm began as a truck farm, eventually opening a small roadside stand on North Hanley. This location now serves and one of 3 retail stores in the area and is open March-December. There is ALWAYS something going on at Thies Farm and Greenhouses, here is just a glimpse... In March the year begins with wide selection of bedding plants, hanging baskets, perennials, potted plants, herbs, roses, vegetable plants, tropicals, shrubs, trees and more-most of which are grown on-site.
Among the first homegrown offerings of the season are asparagus, lettuce, greens, rhubarb and strawberries, usually available in early May. Blackberries, raspberries, peaches, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, sweet corn and so many others follow as summer progresses.
Mums along with fall crops are available beginning in September. October means Pumpkinland, a unique fall festival you don't want to miss.
Fresh Christmas trees, wreaths, roping and more are available throughout December.
