About the business:
The company was named from Art Lawrence, who started the company in 1941. In 1977 Bob Helmsing bought the company, as Lawrence Canvas Products. In 1996 we moved to the current 69,000 sq. ft facility on Tree Court Industrial Blvd. We then changed our name to Lawrence Fabric Structures because canvas was less than 2% of the fabric that we used. In 2005, Jerry Grimaud bought the company. We do so much metal fabrication that we decided in January 2010 to add the word "metal" to our name so we can better market our products to the people that want just metal awnings, canopies or framework. As of October 21, 2015 Lawrence is now owned by the employees. Lawrence employees have always provided great service and quality to our customers. This Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) will promote continued success and customer satisfaction.
