Spent $800,000 on a home that McKelvey rushed through to get it built on time. Five years later, I'm dealing with all sorts of problems. I can't recommend McKelvey Homes to anyone. Find another builder.
I CANNOT recommend anyone use McKelvey Homes as their builder. They promise quality, but you do not get quality. Our house has had probably close to 50 issues on a brand new home. Some issues we are still fighting them on fixing after 3 years. Even when they "fix" it, it's not fixed right. Uneven floors in our house, 3 "fixes" and still problems. Garage door freezes to the ground when it rains and weather is cold. Multiple attempts on correcting. They blame the garage door company & me for having my garage floor finished as the problem. 4 water leaks, both plumbing and rain. Our deck would not pass inspection1 year after being built. It was cracking away from the house. They fought me on fixing that problem so much I had to get an attorney. So, no I cannot suggest anyone buy a home from McKelvey Homes
Beware! In my opinion, Buying a home from McKelvey is like dating and then getting married to someone who pretended to be something they're not. They have devised a way to omit items from the sales literature and features list. Watch for addendums to the contract that contain the words "As displayed". Also, their after the sale customer service is very poor. Don't bother making a claim to the BBB. That's a joke and a waste of time.
