Valley Park Elevator & Hardware
About the business:
The original store was built in 1874, but caught fire; which was a common for Grain Elevators at the time, due to dust and combustion from all of the grain and seeds. It was rebuilt in 1887, and stands the same way today. In 1976 after years of laying brick, being a Valley Park Police officer, and a Municipal Judge in Valley Park, Richard "JUDGE" Grellner decided to go into business for himself and his family. Judge ran the store for years and years and then passed the store on to his two sons Steven and Jeffrey. Sadly Jeff passed away on February 8, 2008, and Judge passed a month after on March 23, 2008. We miss them dearly but still feel their presence working right along with us at the Elevator. We continue the friendly personal service along with dedication to all of our customers and are very much keeping the family tradition alive......

There is no other unique place in West County. They have everything from hardware and plumbing supplies, most unique flowers for gardeners, crazy yard art, homegrown tomatoes when in season, baby ducks and chicks in the Spring, firewood, salt licks, live fishing bate, screen repair. Unbelievable people there to help you out! Love this place and have been going there for 30 plus years!

The people at Valley Park Elevator were very friendly and helpful and they explained all the things I needed to know about different types of grass seeds. When and how to plant it and how to often to water. So thanks Guys.
