I was surprised and disappointed with the lack of transparency in their advertising. The ad indicates one free main trunk line cleaning with full duct cleaning which is what we had done. Our townhome is not large at ~1300 square feet and has one trunk line for upstairs and one for downstairs. Each return vent is $15 (we have two) and each vent is $9. The ad indicates additional mains are priced separately at $129.
After the cleaning was done we were hit with a bill for $526.00. The technician indicated that both of our return lines were considered trunk lines adding $126 each instead of $15. He indicated we have four trunk lines vs. two. When contested he indicated this happens often. Really? If that is the case how about disclosing that before work is started? Not being an expert we consulted two other HVAC companies. Both indicated we have two trunk lines and it would be highly unusual to have four in a place this size.
While we reluctantly paid the bill, it’s hard not to come away feeling like this was bait and switch advertising. Next time we would look elsewhere.
