I scheduled an appointment with David Freel and he said he would be at my house at 8:30 this morning. At 8:40 I got a phone call from him telling me one of his electricians called out sick so he wouldn’t be able to make it today and would I like to reschedule. I’m sure that electrician didn’t call out at 8:40 and if he did, David would’ve already been on site to give me the estimate on the job that he said he would. I understand things happen, but to not give me an early courtesy call felt very disrespectful. He should have given me a call as soon as that electrician called out so that I could go to work because now I’ve lost 2 hours of pay to meet someone who didn’t even show up or give me the courtesy of an early phone call to let me know. I’m not sure how his electrical work is but I know his professionalism could use some work.

Great quality work at a fair price. Its a shame all electrical(most of it anyway) is hidden from view because Dave and his licensed crew make what often looks like a rats nest of wires, look like a work of art. It takes talent, professionalism, and speed to get electrical work done to the quality and efficiency that Freel and Son Electric does. You wont be disappointed.

IN BRIEF: Lightning knocked out backyard electrical, including line to well pump for irrigation. Best prior estimate was $10k+ replacing a lot. Justin and company id'd the issues under 40 min and had us up and running under 2 hr for way less than $1k. My wife & I are very happy! *****

Freel & Sons did my outdoor landscape project in 2021. Progress of the outdoor kitchen was held up because Dave was often MIA. Dave sent different people to my house who were not briefed properly on expectations so they wound up wiring the project wrong. Poor communication through the entire project. Trusted Dave completed the project when I was in the hospital and paid him in full. When I returned home I realized he missed steps. I've tried email, phone calls, even tracked him down at the Milford Pumpkin Festival to have him come back and fix their mistakes. He said "I'm too busy."

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Freel & Sons Electric for my new pool's electrical needs, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, they exceeded my expectations in every way. First and foremost, they were incredibly punctual, arriving exactly when they said they would. This level of professionalism set the tone for the entire project. Moreover, they managed to stay within my budget, which was a surprise when building a pool. The team at Freel & Sons Electric was not only skilled but also incredibly helpful throughout the process. They went above and beyond by directly coordinating with the pool company, making it seamless for me. This saved me a lot of time and stress. I was also impressed by how they maintained a clean and organized worksite. It's not often you find a contractor that leaves the place looking better than when they arrived. What truly stood out was their approach to equipment options. Instead of pushing for the most expensive choices, they took the time to provide me with clear options, helping me make informed decisions that suited my needs and budget. Lastly, I must commend Dave for his flexibility. Given my busy schedule, he was understanding and accommodating, ensuring that the project progressed smoothly. In summary, Freel & Sons Electric is a top-notch company that delivers on every front – professionalism, affordability, helpfulness, organization, and flexibility. If you're looking for electrical services, they are the ones to call. My pool is now not only stunning but also safely and efficiently powered thanks to their expertise. Highly recommended!

We had an unexpected electrical emergency when our power went out, and Eversource wasn’t able to help us. We called at 8pm, and David came out right away. From the moment he arrived, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to help us. He quickly diagnosed the breaker issue and had it repaired within the hour—restoring our power and peace of mind the same night! David explained what had gone wrong in clear, simple terms and made sure everything was safe before leaving. His combination of expertise, efficiency, and genuine care truly exceeded our expectations. It’s not easy to find someone who will drop everything and come out so late at night, but David did it with a smile and dedication. We are so grateful for his prompt response and top-notch workmanship. If you need an electrician you can truly rely on—whether for emergencies or general work—we highly recommend Freel & Sons Electric!

We recently hired Freel & Sons to install a generator switch panel. They were able to come out quickly and completed the job, which we appreciated. However, the final invoice was $250 higher than the original quote. When we called to ask about the difference, we were told the job took longer than expected, which we understand can happen. We were also told they didn’t want to quote too high upfront because they were concerned we might choose another company. While the team was friendly and we’re grateful to have our generator set up, we were disappointed with how the quote and billing process was handled.

We needed a new, very good generator. Dave Freel helped us in every way. He explained every option and the best choices based on what we wanted. He took a very long time with all assistance and friendly interaction. Then he made a new generator in place with all wiring in place. If you need a big job or not so big, this is the company. This is the people. They know everything and they do it right and they do it fast.

Wonderful service! Andrew with Bluestar does impeccable work. When I moved into my new home it was very dark and outdated with little to no lights in the rooms. Andrew installed recessed lighting in my living room and play room and his work was beautiful. He’s so efficient too and you can beat his prices. I got two other quotes and his was far superior and so was his work! I’ve since used him twice to fix exterior lights and to brighten up my basement!

Frequently asked questions

  • Is GigoPro free to use?

Yes. Browsing businesses, reading reviews, and comparing electricians is free for everyone. Business owners can create a basic listing at no cost.

  • How do you verify businesses on GigoPro?

Every profile goes through moderation before it appears in search. We check that the business is real, actively operating, and actually performs the work it claims. For regulated trades like electrical work, we look for proper licensing, and we automatically hide inactive listings.

  • How do I choose the right electrician?

Start with ratings and recent reviews, then confirm the company is licensed and insured for your specific type of work. Contact two or three providers, ask for written estimates, and compare what each quote includes, not just the bottom line.

  • Can I list my business on GigoPro?

Yes. Create a free business profile to reach local customers searching for your category. You can update services, photos, and contact details anytime, and customers can book you directly from your profile.

  • How often is the directory updated?

Business owners update their own profiles. Our team also refreshes hub pages and removes inactive listings to keep search results current. For example, this page is reviewed and updated monthly.

  • Do I need a permit for electrical work?

Most significant electrical work — new circuits, panel upgrades, rewiring, and solar installations — requires a permit and inspection in most jurisdictions. A licensed electrician handles the permit process and schedules the inspection. Ask about permits before you book.

  • How do I know if my panel needs an upgrade?

Common signs include breakers that trip often, adding major loads (EV charger, solar, heat pump, new kitchen), or still having a fuse box or a 100-amp panel. A licensed electrician can assess your panel and load capacity in a visit.

  • Are electricians on GigoPro licensed and insured?

Electrical work is regulated in every state. Ask each electrician for their license number and proof of insurance before work begins. Professional companies expect these questions and answer them without hesitation.

  • How much does electrical service cost?

Costs vary by job type, region, and complexity — there is no honest single number. Reputable electricians give written estimates after assessing the job, and comparing two or three of them is the best way to understand what your work should cost.

  • Can I leave a review after booking through GigoPro?

Yes. After your job is done, you can rate the electrician and describe your experience. Verified reviews from recent jobs help the next homeowners in your city choose well — and keep listed professionals at their best.
