Constraction reviews in Hillside, New Jersey

Rod did a terrific job on our first floor remodel. He was a pleasure to work with and I recommend his services. Thank you!

I began working with Rod Firmino a few months ago on my recently purchased condo. I had such a specific vision of what I wanted my place to look like, and they knocked it out of the park! The difference between what it was and what it currently looks like is night and day. I absolutely love the work they did and it was a pleasure working with them. Quality work, always available, super flexible to my changes, and an honest, hard working man. I can't thank Rod and his team enough for everything they did. I've received tons compliments on his work already and everyone that steps into my place is in awe of how beautiful it all looks. Highly, highly, highly recommended!

I was looking for multiple companies, and I opted to go with Rod for my home remodel. Not only were his quality , but his work far exceeded my expectations. He goes above and beyond to make sure you love the final product. I had a vision for certain things, and for the things now, it is wonderful. He was always helpful in any materials that needed to alway on time, and it was very easy to communicate with. Will for sure anything is needed in the future he come back to my house .

Rodrigo has been excellent to work with. Very reliable, excellent craftsmanship and I would highly recommend him for all your home projects. He completed two bathrooms and a full kitchen to perfection. Thank you Rodrigo!!!!!!! The best!!!

When my wife and I bought our current house, one of the things we agreed on most was just how much we hated our basement. It was already 'finished', but almost every corner of it screamed DIY hack job from thirty years ago. Yellow paneling, exposed wires, exposed duct work, ect. Every few months my wife and I would stand in the basement and talk about what our 'dream room' would look like.

When we were ready to make our dream a reality, we reached out to a few companies for estimates. We decided to go with Rod because his pricing was very competitive and we appreciated how communicative he was about the project.

Renovating almost 900 square feet of basement space that included demoing a twenty foot long cinderblock wall, duct work, plumbing, electrical, uneven floors, uneven walls was not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination. Rod navigated all of those challenges like an expert craftsman, and I think the end project (pictures attached) speak for themselves.

To make matters even better, not once during this almost two month long project did Rod ever try to upcharge us on something. I am all to familiar with contractors starting a project and then claiming they ran into a problem and as a result will need more money.

Rod is an excellent contractor that knows what he's doing. You can't go wrong with Firmino Construction. Whenever I get anything done on my house from now on, Rod will be the first person I call.

(I'm adding before and after photos of the same angles, but for some reason the finished photos came out super low res when I edited it, so I'm adding the higher res versions as well).

Rodrigo and his crew remodeled my staircase in September 2025. They took an narrow, steep staircase and transformed it into a stunning centerpiece of my home. I'm telling you, it looks like a brand new house. Rodrigo was always available to answer any questions I had. He even took the time on his day off to come over and explain exactly what was happening. He was a pleasure to deal with and met my expectations and beyond. I will definitely be using him again for any other projects that I need. I highly recommend. Hope to add photos when I'm done redecorating so I can do the staircase the justice it deserves. Thank you, Rodrigo.

We hired Rodrigo and his team to do a bathroom remodel and they exceeded expectations. Everything was done based on what we wanted. They were very professional and cleaned up after each day. Highly recommended 👌🏽

Trustworthy, punctual, quality work. We have used Firmino for a few projects and is currently working with him to do a few more. He does not cut corners and take pride in doing what’s right. You will be satisfied with any work he does. He does a great job always!!

Rodrigo was the right person to remodel our Bathroom. His shared knowledge and recommendations during the renovation process help us design a Bathroom amazing to look at. It's what we wanted and more at a fair price.
Thanks for making things brighter.

I cannot recommend Firmino Construction enough! From start to finish, the experience was absolutely amazing. Rodrigo and his team were always on time, extremely reliable, and incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. He consistently provided thoughtful, helpful feedback that elevated my ideas while still staying true to my vision. He brought my dream bathroom to life and the final result is beyond beautiful. I’m a very happy customer!

In fact, I was so impressed with his work that I’ve already hired him to do my second bathroom and my kitchen, and I cannot wait to see the results. If you’re looking for someone who’s professional, talented, and genuinely committed to delivering quality work, this is your guy. I’d recommend him 10,000 times over!

***UPDATE***
Rodrigo and his team did it again!! They did an amazing job on my second bathroom, kitchen, laundry room and stairs. From day one, they were super professional, easy to talk to, and really cared about the work. They actually finished everything earlier than expected, and any time I wasn’t sure about something, they gave honest and helpful advice. What started as a rough chicken scratch drawing somehow turned into exactly what I envisioned. By the end of the project, they didn’t just feel like a crew, they felt like family. I’m beyond grateful and highly recommend them.

If you’re looking for a team that’s talented, trustworthy, and treats your home like it’s their own, Firmnio Construction is it.

Firmino Construction did a great job on my master bathroom remodel. Rodrigo is a perfectionist and finished the job before the deadline and under budget. I couldn’t be more pleased with the professionalism of his work crew and the results of their work. I have booked them to do our next bathroom remodel.

We worked with Firmino construction to remodel our bathroom and it was an absolute dream. From the moment we met Rodrigo, he went above and beyond making sure we had setup our house for first cold nights of the season. He is communicative, responsive, and easy to work with. His crew is respectful. Couldn’t have asked for a better first home renovation experience.

Firmino Construction did a great job on our 2nd floor renovation! Rodrigo is an amazing project manager and was very responsive, available to answer our questions when we called. He has a fantastic crew that always showed up early and got right to work. They installed a whole new master bathroom, all new doors, and replaced our old carpet from the 80s with beautiful hardwood. Also replaced the old ceiling fans with more modern fixtures and added recessed lighting in hall. We are so happy with how everything turned out and so grateful that they finished ahead of schedule! Definitely recommend and will be using this great team for future projects!

Peter and his team can always come through when you need them. Their expertise and field service solutions are top notch. Definitely a great company to work with.

I love and miss this company with all my heart. Spent nearly 14 years of my life working there and one thing I've learned is that they go out of their way to make sure all repairs or maintenance has been done correctly.
Pete, the owner, is extremely passionate at what he does and how he trains his guys to the best of their ability.
You won't be disappointed.
And now that I've been out of this business for over 5 years , I think back with fondness of what they've always offered.
I'm still in contact with many of the clients I've come to know as friends and its all still high praises for them. Over the last 10 years, they've received so much praise that not only have they gone national with repair work but also international to Europe, mid-east, etc... Naturally, all these other states & countries have other repair shops available but the Elevator companies are willing to go the extra expense for McIntosh because of the quality and service offered.

I felt the need to type up this review because of not just for future clients but for McIntosh: Pete, Pete Jr., John, Carl, Butch, and all the other guys & gals there who've been the best bosses & coworkers I could have ever known.

You will not be sorry hiring them to repair or maintain you electro mechanical needs. Their experience and clientele speaks for itself.
