After a tornado tore through his neighborhood in April of this year my elderly, widowed father with dementia was solicited by Aspen Tree Expert Company after a neighbor called them for a quote for damage. When the neighbor declined to hire Aspen due to the price quoted, the representative began soliciting other homeowners in the area with trees down. The representative quoted my father $3,198 to chop up and remove a downed, uprooted white pine tree from his driveway. My father, who is barely verbal paid for the service. I am my fathers POA. I handle all of my fathers financial dealings, however I cannot be by his side every second of the day. I called Aspen to inquire about the bill as I was attempting to determine if they took advantaged of him or if the bill was a mistake. I was told that Aspen never solicits customers door to door and that they are so busy that they hate taking jobs involving storm clean-up. They insisted that my father called them for an estimate. After inquiring further, the manager at Aspen finally acknowledged that his sales rep did approach and solicit my father on the date in question and charged him based on the "emergency service" that Aspen provided. His definition of an emergency was that in order to complete my fathers work, several of their customers scheduled jobs had to be pushed back, therefore my fathers unsolicited job is now an emergency and would cost much more to accomplish. He also blamed the high cost of insurance, workman's comp, etc.. He indicated that Aspen has been in business for 47 years. I received several verbal quotes from reputable tree services following Aspen's service based on photos of the downed tree prior to its removal. I was told that a typical price would have been around $1600. My fathers insurance adjuster also indicated that the $3,198 price was obnoxious. This is sad and unacceptable and Aspen refused to make it right. I was told that my father signed the contract and approved the work. I feel really bad for my dad. It would be really professional if Aspen did the right thing and made my dad whole. He feels terrible about this.

We were very happy with Aspen Tree services. They were very knowledgeable about our tree and we ended up only having to trim other than take down our tree which I didn't want to do. The job was done professionally and in a timely manner. We were extremely happy with their services and would definitely recommend them .

Aspen is incredibly professional and reliable, from the initial estimate through job completion. The job was done perfectly with thorough communication throughout the entire process. You wouldn't even know they had been on my property when the job was finished. Every employee I dealt with was friendly and knowledgable. It's a rarity to find such a great company in all aspects. I highly recommend them!

Aspen is a phenomenal company, who prides themselves on being a best in class tree service. We had brought them in to prune some very old sycamores that were growing up and around electrical wires. Unlike other companies in the area, they did not butcher our trees, and still provided ample space for the electric wires.

They also took down a small willow for me on the spot, and left my yard in impeccable shape. It was like they were never here.

But what I want to note most is how they delicately saved a hummingbird nest for us. We stumbled upon this very tiny nest by accident last year. We made the bizarre request to save the nest knowing the hummingbird will not use it again, because who actually gets to see a wild hummingbird nest in person?!

We highly recommend Aspen to anyone looking to have a proper arborist come in to truly give their trees a healthy pruning. Absolute professionals!!

The initial meeting with Aspen discussing what we needed done in our yard was very informative . Curtis provided facts about certain trees and plantings, answered all our questions and then timely provided us a fair quote. The crew that showed up for the actual work were professional, hard working, neat and efficient. We highly recommend them for your tree removal needs. We would use them again if we needed additional trimming or removal

From start to finish a very good experience ! Office responsive to our inquiry for service, excellent consultation with Courtenay from Aspen regarding our concerns, the work needed to be performed and time frame for the job to start and finish. The work crew arrived on time, reviewed the work to be performed with us and made sure we were "all on the same page" regarding what was going to be done. The work crew was professional, hardworking, and very very respectful of our property. They were extremely careful and did an EXCELLENT job with our trees. We were very pleased with the exceptional job they did with cleaning up the work area. I would give them 6 STARS if that were possible ! The follow-up phone call after the work was completed to see if we were satisfied or wanted to voice any concerns was greatly appreciated. We plan to call back after the 1st of the year and have another consultation for additional work we want performed in the back of our house.

My experience with Aspen Tree Expert was excellent. First, a rapid and competitive quotation. And the day of work, which involved raising and pruning four large mature trees, went well with a courteous and efficient crew. I will use them again.

I can honestly say that Aspen Tree Expert Co. was one of the best contractors we have ever used for anything! Full disclosure on expected start day, and completion time. Extremely professional to work with. The Team of about 5 worked together seamlessly. Courteous of the property, lawn, curb, street, etc. Clean up was even better. You would never have known they were there. Cleaned and swept up every little speck of dirt! This is the tree company you need to use!! Thank you

Aspen Tree has been servicing my lawn, trees and plants for several years. My property always looks healthy and green. Any issues that arise from weather, insects, etc are quickly addressed and taken care of in a professional manner. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. I highly recommend this company.

Our experience with Aspen Tree has been incredible. We had a dead Japanese maple tree that needed removal and Aspen did thorough and careful work with the tree and our property. Brian, in particular, provided great follow-up service and education about other trees of ours. Highly recommend!

I have been using Aspen Tree Expert Co for 25 years whenever I need pruning and more. I’ve had an Oak tree tapped for the health and age, I have had a tree taken down, and the pruning done. They go above and beyond and even told me one of my trees in my yard was being choked by the roots while they were here for an estimate on another tree. Courtenay is great!!! She really listened to what I wanted and gave me a lot of information on not only the tree I needed trimmed but also noticed my Oak tree had carpenter ants. Most of all you get what you expect after meeting with Courtenay for the estimate I was equally happy with the people who came to do the work. Everyone understood what I wanted and they even had me look at it when they were finishing to make sure I was happy. No surprises they have a great team.

The guys did a fantastic job doing the trimming and tree removal I asked for for a reasonable price. Left the property cleaner than it was when they arrived, with a full truckload of chips. Highly recommend!

I don't often write reviews, but I had to take the time to write this because we had such an amazing experience with this company! After many estimates with various tree services, we chose Aspen due to their fair pricing, friendly staff, and overall knowledge. We had 5 trees taken down between our yard and my neighbors yard and they worked non-stop in 90+ degree heat to get the job done, and the outcome was perfection! Not only did they do an amazing job with the trees themselves, but the clean up was pristine! They were careful to put back things they had to move and our lawn looked the same as it did before they came. This was not an easy job due to fencing issues, but they hit it out of the ballpark in every respect. I have a great deal of respect for the job they do and would recommend these guys to anyone!! Brian, Phil, and their crew are amazing!!

We are repeat customers for 17 years now. As we live in the woods, it is vitally important that we have our trees inspected to ward off any potential problems. Each year we have Stephen out to examine our property and tell us what needs to come down. We trust his expertise, as we know that he doesn’t like to remove anything that isn’t most necessary. We also contract for a lot of clean up work done. We had our yearly service done today and as always, the crew was superb, they were on time, professional, and their cleanup was outstanding. We contracted Aspen Tree Service three times in the past 2 years to trim trees and remove 5 trees from the property.. each time their arborist , Brian promptly came out to provide an estimate for the work. He was very thorough and made several recommendations to improve the property .Though we had to wait 4-5 weeks to get on the schedule ,it was well worth it. The crew was extremely careful with the landscaping and you would never know that they did the job. We have recommended them to our friends and family.

I am sure that we will use their service again…I have disposed of all the business cards for other local tree services.
