Apparently they were hired by the utilities company to clear lines and they did a halfway decent job of cutting up the tree, but they left three piles of debris in the street

They must be cheap because they are butchers. First energy used them to trim trees in my neighborhood and they obviously have no concern for property value or aesthetics. Cheap job all the way. Workers were proud to do a terrible job when i mentioned it to them. Congrats on owning a hack business. Shame i had to give it 1 star. Worth zero stars.

This company does the worst job. They came to my neighborhood to cut down tree branches but they left a huge mess, didn’t cut all the branches off, and cut down our internet service lines. The workers are lazy and all they do is stand around and act like they’re doing their job when they’re not.

The service was performed as outlined in the contract. The team was on time and pay attention to every detail. they remove the cut branches and clean the lawn of any remaining items. Great job

They dug up around a telephone pole on my property and left it looking horrible

This company was hired by PSE&G to trim the branches of my tree in my front yard that posed a potential threat to the utility lines. I’ve recently paid to trim the three trees in my yard. PSE&G deemed the one in the front was not trimmed enough. I was woken up with loud banging on my door this morning. Apparently, signs were placed advising not to park on my side of the street. Unfortunately, they were placed after I came in from work on Wednesday morning (I work overnight
12 hour shifts. I had worked 16 hours the previous night). Furthermore the signs were placed up the street and not in my direct line of vision. The guy at my door was VERY perturbed asking if I didn’t see the signage. When I told him no he angrily said “move your car before I have it towed”. I just found it pretty unprofessional. Obviously I wouldn’t have left my car to impede their progress, secondly the way I was spoken to was unacceptable. I appreciate that they have a job to do, but also have the responsibility to be courteous. It’s not what he said, but how he said it. Again, the sign was placed AFTER I was inside yesterday and NOT in a place that I would have seen it anyway.

Quick to respond to inquiry and the arborists are very knowledgeable and friendly. I had a difficult time finding one online as I only see tree cutting services but I was happy to find an expert that can describe the health of my tree. I would recommend them for their expertise and professionalism.

Davey did an amazing job with our tree removal. They came to provide a quote within a day of reaching out and by the next day they came to complete the work. They were well priced and great to work with. Would recommend to anyone looking for tree removal. We will definitely reach out to them for future services.

The crew, Rob, Evan and Quincy, did a great job and we cannot say enough about how professional and complete, Joseph O’Shea, Arborist, was from start to finish.  We are so pleased with our choice of Davey. The crew was outstanding, the process smooth and the cleanup beautiful.  I had a problem at the very end of the job with a limb that was not cut as much as I had expected it to be but the foreman was very courteous and after a brief discussion that was done.  I was very sorry to have to stop them from leaving after a hard day’s job but they took it in stride and were respectful which I appreciated very much. We will use this company for future work on our property.

Absolutely horrific company to say the least. I guess apparently they came to my house to cut my tree due to power line interference WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION however my tree was just trimmed from the power company itself about two months ago and I myself did some trimming just two weeks ago. There were ZERO branches near or crossing over the lines. I also use a tree company to trim the higher portion every couple years. NO branches were near the lines but they decided to CUT the whole entire bottom half of my tree down to the bark from the bottom up even branches growing out to the sides with no potential threat ever to the line. I watched the replay on my cameras. I am beyond livid coming home to this nonsense. There were branches and debris everywhere. One of the workers dragged my filled garbage can from the road to the side of my house so my garbage didn't get picked up for the week. There were pieces of branches tangled in my bushes. Wood chips and saw dust everywhere. And one of the branches that posed no threat to the powerlines had an active bird nest in it I just took a picture of them recently too. Then I decided to drive around my neighborhood particularly on my road and no other house was touched and I noticed several trees growing through the powerlines. So why was my tree even touched. There are tons of oil spots all over the road, my driveway, and on my wood border across my front yard. Plus one of my 4x4's are chipped. My neighbor told me they were laying down on his lawn resting and leaning against his car. And I can see it on my camera. Absolutely appalling and unprofessional company to say the least I wish I can sue them. ZERO STARS

Excellent tree service. I felt it important to use an Arborist when using a tree service. Their knowledge is quite extensive. Joe O'Shea couldn't have been more helpful when explaining the work that was required. The guys doing the work (3) are/were very professional and took the time to answer questions. Neat and very mindful of our property, as well as our surrounding neighbors. Also pretty cool how they get up into the trees. Highly recommend Davey Tree . To save the best for last, their support and office staff couldn't have been nicer and very helpful as well!

I originally contracted DAVEY to do some work on my property in the summer of 2023. The arborist (Jamie) who came out to look at my property was terrific. I showed him the trees I wanted trimmed and a tree I wanted removed. He also took the time to walk around my property look at my other trees/bushes/etc. and gave his thoughts and suggestions on how to keep them healthy over the long haul. After getting estimates from other companies DAVEY's pricing was fair, but what won my business over was the conversation I had with the original arborist. From here the problems started. Although there were some initial minor delays a crew did come out to the trimming I requested, I have no issues there. However, I started receiving excuse after excuse into how they couldn't come do the tree removal. Although the excuses were valid (issues with company personnel and broken machinery) it was still frustrating to have to wait all the way to October for a crew to show up at my property. With all of the delays I was assured I would receive a "free fertilization" to make it up to me. Once the crew came to my house, the tree climbers stated that the tree to be removed was too dangerous to climb and they couldn't do the removal. I take no issue with prioritizing the safety of the tree climbers and would never ask them to do a job that was not safe to do, none the less this was still a frustrating experience after waiting so long for them to actually show up. The manager of DAVEY came to my property a few hours later and said he agreed with his climbers assessment and apologized profusely for all the delays and then having to cancel the job entirely. He asked if there was anything to do to make it up to us, I mentioned the previously promised "free fertilization" and also mentioned a potential fungus issue on an unrelated tree. He said he would schedule the "free fertilization" for me and also get the fungus tested free of charge. This was in October 2023, its now February 2024 and its been dead silence, not a single follow up. I won't fault the company for the delays or having to cancel the job for safety reasons, but I will fault them for making empty promises, hence the 1 star review.

EDIT: After writing the above review the manager of DAVEY reached out to me and apologized again for everything. They then sent a tech out to provide me the free services they previously promised. Updating my review to 3 stars.

OUTSTANDING in every way. Arborist Jason answered all my questions and his evaluation and suggestions for my property were very informative. The driver Carl who performed the services was knowledgeable and professional as well. The girl Lisa whom I dealt with on the phone at the office is well versed on the procedures and perfect and professional as well. I have been a Davey Tree customer for many years now and they're highly recommended!

I am very pleased with our experience with our local Davey Tree service - quick, responsive and professional from start to end. Very fast response to estimate request, Joe spent quality time with me on the estimate visit and really listened to my needs. The on site labor team that came was terrific - polite, professional, on time and took care in cleaning up.
The best was they did come back - no extra charge - to address the removal of a few more branches that I wanted gone but I had failed to communicate clearly on. How refreshing! How nice in a world full of hidden fees and bad contracting experiences.
I would highly recommend Davey Tree to all and would use them in a heart beat again!

Davey Tree does an amazing job. They are experts in their field and can help ensure trees and bushes are taken care of on your property. They are usually a little more expensive than other places, but you get what you pay for. Def give Davey Tree a chance!
