Subject: Feedback on Technician Visit – Horizon Plumbing

I recently had a technician from Horizon come to my home to provide an estimate for installing a faucet and garbage disposal. I was shocked to be quoted nearly $2500 for what should be a relatively straightforward job.

The experience was frustrating from the start. I had clearly requested an appointment after 2:00 PM. However, I received a call early in the morning asking if I could be seen earlier, which I declined. Later, I got a text saying the technician would arrive in 28 minutes. Then I received a call from the technician confirming the 2–4 PM window, which I was already aware of. When I asked if he was on his way, he told me not to rely on the app because it’s not updated. Frankly, that’s unprofessional. If Horizon knows the app is inaccurate, that should be reported and corrected—not dismissed.

When the technician arrived, he began inspecting the area and discussing the job. His comments were confusing and concerning. He claimed my sink was installed incorrectly, that it would leak, and that it was too low. I’ve lived here for 12 years and never had a leak. In fact, my previous sink was even lower than the current one, and it worked just fine.

He also asked me unrelated questions like how many bedrooms and bathrooms I have, and how many people live in my home. I found those questions intrusive and irrelevant to the task at hand. I was simply asking for a faucet and garbage disposal installation—not a full home assessment.

In addition to the kitchen work, I had other plumbing concerns I wanted addressed during the visit. But the technician seemed more focused on upselling and making unnecessary comments than actually listening to what I needed. The entire interaction felt more like a sales pitch than a service call.

Overall, I did not feel respected or properly served. If I ever need plumbing assistance again, I respectfully request that Horizon not send this particular technician to my home.

Excellent service. Jermaine was timely, professional, and got the job done in a short period of time. To top it all off, today is the day we got 20 plus inches of snow and he was still able to come out, access the situation, drive out to pick up the replacement parts, and return all within a few hours. And all in the tail end of a blizzard. Thank you Jermaine!

My experience with my technician Shane was amazing. He was very patient with me when asking a bunch of questions., and was also respectful of my home and very polite. He also was very knowledgeable of anything that had to do with heating and cooling among other household systems. He was a pleasure the you.
