Reviews of local pros in Oradell, New Jersey

Peter and his team are very professional, hard working and did a great job. They are nice to work with and made great recommendations.

We highly recommend using Peter and his team

Back in November of 2019 I was looking to FINALLY replace the Linolium Floor in my Hallway with Wood Floors...I did the usual Angie's List & Home Advisor Search & was very disappointed with the Contractors I was referred to in my area...After the Holidays I then started Searching on GOOGLE & BASIL CONTRACTING popped up...The Reviews were 5 Star & the Web Site showed AMAZING WORK, so I took a CHANCE & I HIT THE JACKPOT!!! The Owner himself came to my Home...I told him EXACTLY what I wanted & he DELIVERED 100%!!! I was VERY IMPRESSED with HIM!!! I gave him a Key to my Home, went to Work & when I came Home I had the most BEAUTIFUL HARD WOOD FLOORING, Painted Molding & 1/4 Inch Round!!! My Home was left Clean & Tidy! Not a HINT of Dust, Dirt or Debris! I was SO HAPPY I called him to Thank Him & asked now that I have a BEAUTIFUL FLOOR, could he now Paint the Hallway Walls; Ceiling, Hot Water Base Board Heating Cover& the 5 Hallway Doors & the Insidenof my Hallway Closet...I wanted Sandy Tan Walls...He brought me Samples & the FIRST ONE HE SHOWED ME I FELL IN LOVE WITH!!! At his suggestion he recommended I do the Doors & Trim White to Match the Floor Molding & 1/4 Inch Round & was SPOT ON!!! The White just POPS & Compliments the Floor & Walls!!! Again I gave him a Key & came Home from Work the 1st Day to the Ceiling Painted & the Walls Spackled & Primed & the Next Day the Job was COMPLETE & GORGEOUS!!! This Guy REALLY knows his stuff & his Work is IMPECCABLE!!! I HIGHLY RECOMEND BASIL CONTRACTING!!! Great Work, Wonderful & Friendly Workers & now I have to look NO FURTHER for ANY HOME REPAIRS or UPGRADES! I have a PERMINANT CONTRACTOR that can do it ALL!!! THANK YOU PETER!!!

ALL I CAN SAY IS AMAZING! I got my bathroom and basement redone and the quality of work is incredible! Pete was professional, honest, and did everything on time. If I can give 1000 stars I would !!!

I’ve reached Peter based on the reviews on google. He replied to my inquiry almost immediately, however he did not provide an estimate when he said he would. I’ve texted Peter and he said he’ll send the estimate by the end of the day. Well two weeks after and still haven’t received anything. Peter seemed to be a great guy so I waited patiently, but I can’t wait any longer. I just wished Peter was honest from the beginning and said that he was not interested on doing my bathtub.

Basil Contracting did a wonderful job in my home. His crew was clean, on time and very professional. The work was done without interruption and all at a very fair price. I would recommend them for any painting or contracting work.

Had a kitchen that literally belonged on America's Ugliest Kitchen . Peter and his awesome crew came in and gutted the entire kitchen area and replaced and remodeled my kitchen where it now looks like it belongs on the cover of 201 Magazine. His work was meticulously done with his workers always on time . I literally have them the key to my house and came back in 6 weeks and everything was completed as promised on time. From Porcelain floors to granite counter tops Basil Contracting & Painting gave me my dream kitchen that I always wanted

I highly recommend Basil Contracting/ Pete's Painting. From start to finish they were professional, the work was amazing and very reasonably priced! All workers were courteous, prompt and clean!! Can't wait for next project I'll definitely be using Petes Painting!!!!

Peter Basil and his workmen, Jose and Guillermo, were extremely professional, mindful of protocols for Covid, worked cleanly and efficiently. They repaired a portion of my bathroom ceiling that had sustained a leak. They replaced the damaged portion of the ceiling. Spackled. Sanded. Matched my color paint beautifully. In other words, Peter strives for perfection and does not leave a job until that goal is reached. I highly recommend Basil Contracting for any and all home improvements. Peter does it all - with a smile and a gracious demeanor.

Peter did a great job in my house. He did my kitchen, living room, and more.
He is an artisan in design, construction, and painting, at a reasonable price. Very neat and courteous, easy to work with. He is professional, efficient, licensed and insured.

Pete was very responsive and communicative throughout the entire process. His team is extremely hardworking and the project was completed on time. Glad to have found a reliable and trustworthy contractor in our area.

For weeks, we planned to do a renovation project. Pete Basil coordinated a number of services with total attention to our needs. He arrived early to each appt. and returned every call and text within minutes. When the project was suddenly cancelled he was extraordinary. He'd spent lots of time and work only for no reward. That's when his character really showed. He continued to treat us with the same professionalism and attention as we wrapped things up. I look forward calling on him in the future and would pass his name on to any of my friends.

This has been such a positive experience for me. He did a major renovation in my condo. Peter was always available to talk to, very responsive to my questions. He has been a great contractor and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend him for any construction job-large or small!

Peter did such a fantastic job repairing my ceiling that had water damage. Him and his workers are extremely reliable and Peter always answers when you call/text him! Highly recommend using him. His prices are very reasonable and he does GREAT work!

We had the upstairs bathroom totally replaced. Pete’s guys were able to keep it as clean as possible. Halfway through the project my wife said she couldn’t believe how little of a mess they made. Their work was great and each of the guys were very polite. Pete gave me great recommendations on the design and he was even able to pick up all the materials, parts and fixtures for me. It made the whole process much less stressful. His communication was great. He gave me updates all along the way and told me what to expect for the next day. I never had to wait long for him to get back to me. The whole project went as well as we could have hoped. If you want a contractor that’s easy to work with, Pete’s the guy.

Pete saved the day for me! He quickly determined that a leaky shower pan was the problem in the main bathroom and sadly, the entire shower needed to be gutted and replaced. He was working in 2 other apartments in my building and immediately had his plumber and tile contractor come over to assess the job. Within a few days I had the estimate, and soon after Pete "squeezed " my job into his busy schedule. Working with him was very easy. He responds almost immediately to texts/calls but more importantly, I am very happy with his professional work and would recommend him to anyone.

Pete is a fantastic contractor. We had him remodel our two upstairs bathrooms, convert our closets to walk-ins and paint our two bedrooms and garage. His assistant, Jose, is a most meticulous craftsman and left each day after cleaning up behind him. Pete's sub-contractors for plumbing, tile, electric, flooring and demolition removal were also top-notch. Overall, the job was done on-time and within budget. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Basil Contracting for any job, large or small. They are the best contractors I've ever dealt with by far.

Incredible job! Pete and team re-imagined an attic space. From start to finish, Pete & team weren't just meticulous but CLEAN. A great communicator which is hard to find these days, Basil Contracting always found the right solution while making the space look beautiful. Pete and his team are honest, on time & hard working. Check out the results. Highly recommend!

I called the amazing Contractor Pete Basil (Basil Contracting & Painting). He came over the very next day and luckily had an opening where he could start the next week! The ever-responsive, wonderful communicator, & helpful Pete and his clean, happy and kind team are wonderful and quick. My "she cave" if you will is amazing and such a great use of space / our 5th bedroom. What used to be a room rarely used other than for shoving my clothes into two small closets and hosting two years of working Zoom life is now a beautiful fresh room that Pete helped me carve out into a perfectly sized walk-in-closet, and Peloton workout / adult hangout space off our primary/master bedroom.

Pete and Jose transformed and modernized our original 1930's bathroom. With the complications of older homes, I was impressed with Pete's ability to navigate and find solutions. His communication was always transparent as he helped fulfill our vision from concept to reality. The project was completed on time and we are satisfied with our new bathroom!

Pete came to me as a referral and I’m so happy that he did! He and his team did a great job with my kitchen. I had a complete kitchen renovation and it looks amazing! Pete was very professional and had a lot of patience with me as this was my first renovation project. He answered all of my questions and concerns before, during and after the project was completed. I have many more projects to be done and it will be Pete that I call. I’ve added some before and after pictures to hopefully give you an opportunity idea of the work product and quality.

Always friendly and professional.
