When we first purchased our home, we noted that there were some drainage issues, particularly with water pooling towards the foundation, and water draining improperly through the backyard.

Sage Landscaping was recommended to us by another contractor, and I'm so glad we used their services! Sage regraded our front and back yards, so water now pitches away from the front of the house, and moves along a new drainage ditch created along our back fence line.

We're now 9 months post-regrade, and after every heavy rain event (which used to cause serious problems), we can happily report that water now perfectly moves away from our home's foundation and through our backyard. It's been satisfying to see that rainstorms that would have previously posed a problem are handily dealt with by the regrade.

Lastly, Sage Landscaping stands by their work and makes things right. About a week after our initial regrade, we had a downpour that washed out some of the regrade work, and washed away grass seed that had been planted after the regrade. We also discovered that water wasn't quite draining correctly along the drainage ditch. Sage promptly sent out a crew who repaired the wash-out, re-seeded our yard with grass, and fixed the problem spot in our regrade to prevent future problems. Additionally, during the course of the regrade, we had a cherry tree that had roots that had to be partly cut to install drainage. Unfortunately, that tree died after the regrade work, but Sage made things right by removing and replacing the tree.

We really can't recommend Sage Landscaping highly enough! Kudos for a job very well done, and excellent customer service.

I had a general idea of what I was looking for, but when Ed Sage came to my home for the first consultation, he listened to what I (thought) I wanted and made recommendations that significantly improved on what I envisioned. Ed worked with me to design the project, even down to the color of the paver stones his team installed! He was extremely knowledgable, patient, and his confidence and expertise allayed any concerns I had. The work that his team performed has completely transformed our experience in the backyard. I have been using Sage for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. They maintain my lawn and landscaping as well as the fall and winter cleanups. It also helps that Ed is a certified tree expert in New Jersey. My property is surrounded by large oaks, he comes out yearly to check on them and then recommends pruning if necessary. This year he pointed out two dead ones I had missed that were close to the house, so I was able to have them removed before they could cause damage. I highly recommend Sage.

Ed Sage was wonderful! We had water intrusion into basement during recent deluge and called him to advise on whether grading was needed. He was quick to respond, fair and honest. He didn't jump to give us costly solutions and even assessed a tree we were concerned about. He is following up with us to further advise once we have the water/mold remediation complete. Ed Sage came to my property after having water damage in my basement from a storm. Ed was very knowledgeable and gave us great advice for preventing this happening, weather it came from the basement windows or ground water. He also gave advice on a neighbors tree that I do not want falling on my house and informed me how to write a formal letter from an LTE to my neighbor. Ed was extremely helpful and nice and would absolutely recommend him to everyone!
