I had a disappointing experience with Advanced Solar System that raises concerns about transparency and ethical standards of the business.

The 15 minutes service call fee was excessive with half required upfront before a technician even arrived.

When the estimate came through, it was extremely vague—simply stating “replace inverter – $4,700.” There was no breakdown of labor vs. parts, no model information, and no details about what exactly was being installed. When I asked for clarification, Roy refused to provide any additional detail and stated they intentionally keep estimates vague “to make them easier to understand.”

I would recommend others proceed with caution and ask for detailed pricing and scope of work before committing to anything.

Terrible expetience

I sat down with multiple solar installers and Ron Urban with his team had the best product for the right price. Ron and his coworkers were a pleasure to work with and could no be happier.

The most honest company out there. Totally friendly and professional. Roberto Santos came out to check my panels after hurricane Ian. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. It is a pleasure to work with a company that cares. The best!

Our system was installed about 2 years ago. All that Ron told us was true, almost no electric bills. Their crews are experienced, polite and answer any questions you may have. The whole solar experience has been a pleasure due to Ron and his staff.

February 20 2020 to November 25 2025 , produced in excess of 100,000 kilowatts with 60 panels on two Optimizers with Advanced Solar! More than satisfied, Ron Urban was correct when he stated the system will PAY for itself. Open to comments or questions.

I was in the market for Solar energy and had contacted several companies. Some of these companies were the bigger ones with hundreds of installations within the tri county area. By chance through the internet I ran across a company call Advanced Solar. I contacted them and set up a meeting. The president of the company Ron Urban came to my house shortly there after and sat down with me. Ron explained everything to me and educated me on how most solar companies operated, and how Advanced Solar operated. He explained the step by step process and the equipment they would install and the way his employees worked. Ron also stated that he would personally be on site as the work progressed. Once the project was started Ron was on site every day and oversaw the entire installation. Ron designed the system for maximum effectiveness and literally relocated venting pipes on my roof to enable more panels as well as a more cosmetic layout. Everything was done to perfection including the inverters and sub panels placed on my home. Ron designed a racking system over my existing deck to accommodate additional panels that now also serves as a outside sitting area enhancing my home and outside area. Not only is the solar system Advanced Solar installed on my roof effective as to energy generated, it also looks great like it belongs there. Since the system has been on line I have literally cut my electric bills to almost nothing, if fact if you include the SREC's that I have received each month I am making money every month without an electric bill. After completing the project several months later Ron Urban contacted me and asked if he could send his workers back over to my home to install track lighting around the racking system he had constructed for night time aesthetics. Not only did they do that which looks great they also painted the wood structure which looks better then it did before. If your seriously interested in purchasing a solar system for your home I sincerely suggest you give Ron Urban at Advanced Solar a call.

It's been a pleasure working with Advanced Solar and Ron Urban for our solar and energy solutions for our home. Their work is excellent, and they go above and beyond to deliver great service! It's great to have clean energy, no electric bill and generate additional income from our solar panels !!

When we were shopping to get a solar panel system installed, we interviewed seven different solar companies.
Even though we were looking to buy the system and not lease it, most of the companies were pushing the lease option which benefitted them more than us. Ron from Advanced Solar and Energy Solutions understood what we wanted and presented us a plan explaining exactly what we needed and answered in detail every question we had. We choose Advance Solar because we felt he was the most informed and honest of all the sales representatives. Advanced Solar and Energy Solutions did everything they said they would and everything was done very professionally. The installation came out perfect and we are very pleased.
We love our solar system and we rarely get an electric bill and when we do it's usually less than $5 per month. Also, our system produces an average of a megawatt per month and we love getting those Solar Renewable Energy Credits, SREC, checks deposited into our bank account.
Exactly like Ron said, the system will pay for itself very quickly and then it turns into a money maker. We should have done this years ago.

Despite being primarily a solar company, Advanced Solar came to our rescue when we needed a basement apartment built for our daughter. Ron and his crew had great suggestions and completed the project in record time even working on the weekend! A truly professional and caring organization.

I had my solar system and new roof installed by Ron and his crew at Advanced Solar & Energy Solutions last August (2018). By all definitions it was a small project, but they all treated the project as though it were their top priority. They had everything, including the roof, installed in a very short amount of time.

I want to give them another shout out for their customer service. Jessica and Ron have been very supportive in troubleshooting the minor issues I had with my system (manufacturer defect) and have made me and my wife a very happy customers. We would recommend their services to anyone considering purchasing their solar project.

Before the review of Advanced Solar, I would like to point out for the reader that this is the very first time I have ever written a Google Review.

That said, our experience with Ron Urban (the owner of Advanced Solar) has been exceptional and I highly recommend anyone who is searching for solar contractors to be sure to include Advanced Solar as one of your estimates before signing any agreements with any other company.

Ron first visited our home in 2008 and back then gave me such a great education regarding the residential solar market overall. Although the cost of installing AND OWNING the solar installation was too high back then for us, by 2019 when we were once again shopping for an OWNED SYSTEM, Ron was able to pass along a considerable savings in his updated quote, because the solar panels were both more efficient than in 2008 and they were far less costly per panel to buy.

The installation took place in December 2019 and we caught a December 31st deadline in New Jersey for starting the SREC (Solar Energy Renewable Credit) program before the 2020 New Year. This allowed us to have a higher payout per SREC and we were getting direct deposits of about $ 215 / month with a frequency of 7 times per year starting in 2020. Doing the math, that means we were paid a total of $ 1,505.00 per year since 2020 and that is on top of the already far reduced PSEG bills that resulted from us generating our own power during the year . . . even better in the summertime when the angle of the Sun was higher in the sky than during the winter.

Overall, our experience with Advanced Solar has be wonderful. In 2022, the SREC folks who manage our payments for avoiding power from the grid, sent us several emails and notifications that the 3G satellite communication system that provided our energy production data to calculate the SREC processing informed us that we would need to upgrade the 3G antenna to a 5G version OR to connect our system via the internet service provider we have to keep the flow of information going and producing our SREC direct deposits

We elected to call Advanced Solar to ask if they could come out to install an ethernet condition and remove the 3G antenna from our metering system. Sure enough, we had an electrician from Advanced solar at our house within a few days and that system has bee working flawlessly since late 2022.

Realizing the skills of the electrician who was sent by Advanced Energy were exceptional, I asked if it would be OK for us to contract a few other electrical items in our house to be resolved or repaired. I called the main office and they were OK with invoicing us for the additional work and this was a great help to us going forward so we could better enjoy the items we had installed years ago, but did not connect them fully.

Thank you once again to Ron Urban and the folks of Advanced Solar for being so well qualified and capable of making our electric bills lower all year round and especially low in the summer months. We even actually sell power back to PSEG which makes our electric bills actually payments to us in the summer.

After hearing all the horror stories about all the so-called solar companies running scams in New Jersey, I will admit I was very skeptical about making the switch to solar. Then Ron Urban came to our home and educated us about how solar is supposed to work. There was no high-pressure sales pitch, just an easy-to-understand layout of our return on investment. It’s been nearly seven years since my system came on-line and I have not paid an electric bill since. Plus, my renewable energy credits deposit cash into my bank account every month. The money I have made off my solar system from Advanced paid for my son’s college tuition.
But Advanced is so much more than a solar company. They have expertise in all aspects of design, build, HVAC, electrical contracting and more. We were so impressed with the solar installation, we hired advanced to install our new HVAC system, a backup generator, and even a luxury spa bathroom! This Spring, we have Advanced coming to build a new pergola over our patio and install new outdoor lighting.
We love that all the work is done in-house, and we don’t have to worry about multiple sub-contractors we don’t know coming into our house. We trusted them to work in our house even when we were not home. Our yellow labs, Henry and Holly, loved the Advanced crew and were sad when the work was completed.
Before you consider any project for your home, I urge you to call Ron at Advanced. He has great design ideas and can build in energy efficiencies that might even pay for the entire project.

Ron Urban and his companies did amazing work on my house renovations! They built me an energy efficient bathroom and kitchen and renovated my bedrooms. It was all done beautifully and professionally in a timely manner!
When it comes to solar, I had no idea how much the big Solar company was ripping me off until I met Ron Urban. I have Solar with a different company but it never covered the cost of my electric bill so Vivent called and asked me to increase the number of panels on my house to cover it and wanted to charge me $80 more a month! That means I would be paying more for my solar than what the bills would’ve cost! Thanks to Ron, I realize that other companies are a scam! He educated me on how the solar industry really works. Thanks to Advanced for making my home energy efficient and beautiful!
