Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We were quickly on the schedule. Our technician Gary was prompt, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. But most of all, he was kind and courteous.
The price seemed a little high but overall it was a good experience.

Called Roto Rooter at approximately 1pm, was told the tech would be out between 2-4pm on the same day. He arrived sometime after 2pm, diagnosed the problem and attempted to unclog the lines. At this point I was advised that there was something wedged in the toilet causing the clog, was given an estimate on the spot for the replacement. We are completely satisfied with not only the quick response, but also the repair work that was done. My tech Gary answered all my questions and was extremely helpful to my issues.

Paid a bit more than I was expecting, but can’t complain too much as the phone call, technician arriving, and the total replacement of my toilet, without cracking my ceramic tile floor all was completed within a 4 hour time period.

TLDR; Broken water was replaced promptly, and bundled services were completed same day l for a very good price. They left the place cleaner than they arrived. Rich is a seasoned plumber, very knowledgeable, and very personable. His apprentice, Michael, was very polite and responsive to his mentor’s coaching. Watching the two work reminded me of an old school father son duo.

Inspection was thorough. Rich definitely knew what he was talking about, and pointed out everything that was out of code, and things that could use work.

Consultation: Rich recommended adding a water filter to extend the life of my new water heater. And I didn’t know this, but it made sense to add a filter when you put in a new water heater because then the water heater is supplied with only clean, filtered water. Not to mention now my whole house has amazing tap water, no smell, and very clean taste (I never drank the tap before) and my showers don’t leave my skin and scalp feeling dry.

Execution: I watched as they cut and fitted pipes as well as securing all my other pipes for free, without even asking! I also requested they fix my slow draining tub sink. I had my washing machine drain into my tub sink and it always flooded whenever I did large loads. Rich replaced the ENTIRE 6+ section of pipe and upgrade the tub plumbing to PVC.
NOT ONLY THAT he added a vent to the system, andded a dedicated drain for my washing machine to drain into, and added a clean out opening (my house is over 100 years old, it was bad. Unfortunately for them, they discovered my drain has never been snaked, 4in pipe reduced to less than 1 inch. Him and Michael snaked it 100 times with a jaded giant auger (poor guys). But they made it work. They basically added a snake service for free (635$ value, but we discovered this after we agreed on a price and Rich bit the bullet)
A water heater change starting at 8:30am turned into a whole day ordeal, they didn’t finish cleaning up WELL after 5PM.

ALSO, they made sure the faucets in my house were all working, thankfully they did, because when you change out a water heater, some sediment escaped into your faucets, which is what happened to my kitchen sink (imagine calling a plumber again after the fact)
