General Contractor reviews in Scotch Plains, New Jersey

As a first time home buyer of a home that needed quite a bit of work, I was worried about embarking on such a project as I had heard many horror stories. Well, Dave and his team put my mind at ease from the start. Excellent from start to finish.
Dave was open, honest and realistic from the get go. Also incredibly responsive which was so helpful for someone like me, going through this process for the first time.
I am thrilled with the work done by DMF and highly recommend them.

Davids professionalism and attention to detail is unparalleled. I've worked with many contractors in the past but he actually calls back, gives great feedback and draws upon his lengthy experience to make the best recommendations on how to move forward with ideas. I am very confident recommending him for any remodeling needs.

After meeting and speaking with Mark, we hired DMF Construction to do a complete CUSTOM renovation on our master bathroom, down to studs and rafters. They came everyday until the work was complete, start to finish. Put tarps down each day and even sectioned off the work area floor to ceiling with plastic, keeping the rest of the house clean. I’m a bit “picky and a bit of a perfectionist” when it comes to certain things. I must say their custom tile work and craftsmanship are excellent! They even came back two days later to fix something that was OUR fault. If you’re looking for a reliable company that does great work, don’t hesitate. I would highly recommend DMF Construction!

We,Pro Insulation Company have worked with DMF on many projects. They are an honest, reliable company that does great work. They have a quick response time & are easy to reach for any questions on your existing or upcoming projects. Do not hesitate to contact them for your building needs!

Dave and Mark made my home office project effortless. I’ve heard countless stories about horrible home remodeling projects, which made me slightly concerned about turning my sun porch into my home office. The work began in the Fall and they consistently worked until it was done. When weather got in the way, Dave remained in contact sharing how long things would be delayed and what he was doing behind the scenes (i.e., ordering/tracking lumber, windows, etc) as we waited on Mother Nature to ease up. Simply put, Dave and Mark are consummate professionals that get the job done. I look forward to using them again on future projects.

DMf was wonderful to work with when they finished our basement. They were communicative and prompt making the process easy from start to finish.

I have been working with Dave at DMF Construction on several projects for quite sometime and have nothing but great things to say about him. We have a great business relationship and it is always a pleasure working with him. If you are looking to remodel your home, DMF Construction is the way to go!

DMF and Dave were so responsive and willing to think outside the box to fix certain problems i had.
Dave is quick to get back to you and comes over as fast as he can to assist or quote a project out. He follows up on everything and keeps you in the loop.
He acts much more of. Consultant and friend then a hired salesperson. Dave would be my first call if i had a house project and more.

Dave and Mark were both very responsive to all of our questions and communicated with us throughout the process so that we knew what to expect. Our bathrooms came out great and we highly recommend DMF Construction

We used DMF for a gut renovation of the main two floors of our home and are thrilled with the end result! Dave and Mark were extremely easy to work with and were in close contact throughout the renovation, telling us what items / areas we needed to focus on in the short-term while not neglecting long-term project needs that needed more lead-time. They handled all of the coordination with the subcontractors, like electricians, plumbers, inspectors, etc., which was extremely helpful. They always listened to our thoughts and wishes and made sure they were reflected in the final product. For example, we wanted wainscoting in our dining room. We showed them images we liked and then they made sure we were on the exact same page about style, height, etc. to ensure our vision became the reality. Our family lived in the home - with a young child, no less - during the renovation, and Dave and Mark were extremely accommodating, even altering the order of operations at-times to ensure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend them and anticipate using their services again in the future for other home projects!

DMF did my siding and they were great! Dave was very communicative and it came out beautiful. They worked quickly with attention to detail, would recommend to anyone I know!

DMF replaced the hard wood floors in our living room, and sanded/stained the floors throughout the rest of the house. Dave and his team were professional, efficient and honest. They were completely transparent about the scope of the job they'd be doing and did not try to upsell us. They even talked us out of sanding the upstairs floors since they only needed a glaze - saving us money.
A great job by a great local company.

These guys came through for me in a pinch and did so at a very reasonable price. Dave was open with communications regarding work status and progress throughout and got things done in a timely manner and great quality. Highly recommend.

We highly recommend David and DMF construction for home renovations. David and his team did an excellent job with our first-floor home project as well as our basement project.

From planning to installation and troubleshooting within tight timelines, David was proactive, super responsive, and provided us frequent project updates via email and phone. We would work with him again on future home projects.

We recently completed an interior kitchen remodel with Dave & DMF Construction and are thrilled with the results! We have a 1950's split level that was screaming for better flow, function and storage while maintaining a clean and modern, mid-century aesthetic. Dave helped us vet our ideas from the beginning, was easy to reach when questions arose and responded in a timely manner. He helped us understand the project roll-out for each step of the process.  As the kitchen project got underway, we expanded on our original wish list to include updating our front door and painting the outside shutters as well as replacing our entryway and den flooring, designing and replacing our interior railings and even relocating the doorway to our son's room. Somehow Dave made it all happen ON TIME and ON BUDGET! Next up are the bathrooms...we hope to work with DMF once again and highly recommend them too.

We hired DMF Construction little over a year ago to oversee a sizeable project that included adding an extension to our house, extending one of the upstairs bedrooms, remodeling the kitchen and the first floor to create a more open plan, replacing the exterior, and finally adding a patio in the backyard. Dave was in fact one of the very few contractors who actually took the time to return our call and we are glad that we decided to go with them. Starting from finding a good architect he oversaw each detail of the work to ensure that the entire project is completed in a professional way. He provided us a clear understanding of the phases of the project, including breakdown of the budget over time. Dave and Mark were true gentlemen and whenever we had a concern, they made sure it was addressed in the right way. Communications were superb and Dave always responded promptly to any questions or concerns that provided a great comfort in knowing that the work was being done by someone we could completely rely on. Every sub-contractor who did the work was professional and we did not have any issue with the quality or any other aspect of the work. We would highly recommend the DMF team.

We have had a great experience with DMF Construction (Dave). We wanted to add 500 SQFT to our house with family room and sun room. Dave was able to quickly provide us the competitive detailed estimate, which helped us in quick decisioning on the next steps. He was fully available for quick discussions on the estimates and guided us through the entire process. This helped us in understanding the process and made us our minds for adding additional sqft to our property.

Fully recommend..

Dave & Mark at DMF construction were wonderful to work with. Easy communicators, excellent knowledge of construction, quality work, & they always showed up on-time! They not only built our medical office (new construction), but also built additions for several of my family members' homes. I highly recommend the highly talented & professional team at DMF.

DMF has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Dave and Mark have guided me every step of the way of my renovation project. I purchased a dated home and the DMF team helped me start from scratch. I couldn't be happier with their level of professionalism and constant communication. Best of the Best!

Excellent workmanship, the best materials, entirely transparent, honest, and timely communication: Dave and his crew at DMF exceeded my expectations and turned my modest renovation dream into the reality of a beautiful new home which will bring my family many years of happiness and ultimately a great return on our investment down the road when we sell. They go well out of their way to make sure you get the home you deserve!

A few years back I hired Dave and his brother Mark to remodel my bathroom. That project took only a couple of weeks and went very well. Dave and Mark are also great to work with. They’re always responsive to any changes and/or suggestions that popped up along the way. That made this project sail along without a hitch. I also thought their sub contractors were great. Each one of them was courteous, professional and did a really good job. Since then, and more recently, I have used them on a major backyard patio project as well as a front step and walkway job..
All in all I was very pleased with DMF. After all, good contractors are hard to find!
