Please note the comment about orders placed before 4pm will be delivered same day if local is NOT always the case! I just found out the hard way! I recommend you call them to find out if they have sent out their drivers already or not BEFORE ordering if you need same day delivery. Just trying to save you from being disappointed like me. And....yeah, no, there's no discount available for them not honoring what's clearly on their site. Jus trying to save you some time, in case you thought there would be.

PRICE GOUGING DURING THE PANDEMIC.......
Visited this store yesterday & was shocked at the prices of their plants, shrubs & flowers. Their prices have increased by 30% to 45% more than other plant shops. Being the season, it's understandable to see a slight increase but their prices were unjustifiable. For a beautiful Sunday, the place was literally empty. One woman was complaining about the prices and she turned around and walked right out.
Due to the pandemic, more people are spending time in their gardens just to get out into the fresh air so MPE is taking advantage of this situation by raising their prices.
Do yourself a favor & stay clear of this store. Take a ride out to the Randolph Garden Center where the prices are much more reasonable & the product quality is much better. I will not be returning to this store anytime soon even when they have their 4th of July sale. You can still get the 4th discount in Randolph.... -
I had bought 4 shrubs 2 months ago, and 3 died. I went back with my receipt and photos.
I saw Tony, the manager, and he gave me full credit for the 3 that died. I took new shrubs as an exchange. Stand up guy. -
Nice plants & selection. However, I do not recommend if you need help selecting plants or advice if you’re a beginner gardener. I’ve been there a few times & every time asked a different employee for help without luck. Very disappointed. I will be looking for another garden center, even if future away.

I had a wonderful experience getting my wedding flowers at Metropolitan Plant Exchange. Elyse did my bridal bouquet, bridesmaids' bouquets and groomsmen boutonnieres. Everything was beautiful and reasonably priced. My bridal bouquet was exactly how I envisioned it. Everyone should check out Elyse for their wedding flowers!

I can't even express my gratitude enough to Metroplitan Flower Exchange for creating the most gorgeous flower arrangements that exceeded my expectations. I happened to stumble upon this place when I was looking for affordable flower arrangements for my wedding in September. I knew I was cutting it close when I started looking in August and had been shopping around at several different florists. Metropolitan Flower Exchange stood out the most bc of Chrissy's personality and willingness to customize the arrangements while suggesting her own seasoned expertise. She was easy to work with and the whole experience was exactly what I was looking for: genuine and fun. The store has an incredibly wide variety of selections to choose from and the price was out of this world. For 9 bridal bouquets, 14 centerpieces, ceremony flowers and baskets, her price quote was close to 3K cheaper than what I was quoted at other florists. Communication was easy and she was so organized and really put her whole heart into her work which was evident on the day of the wedding. I would recommend Chrissy and her store 100+ times over to anyone who is looking for a florist!

The service is superb, the location is convenient and I think the selection is fantastic. I love plants but I don't have a green thumb so they recommended plants for me, even potted them and now even I can enjoy lovely plants in my home. It's not just a plant store it is specialized service. I love this place!

I happened to be driving home and spotted this nursery. My boyfriend wants a cactus, so I figured that I would try it out. They had a wonderful selection and the women running the register was very sweet! Based on their customer service alone, I will be returning for sure!!!!

I have been shopping here for a while. The cashiers are normally really nice and courteous. Today is the second time I went in as was treated not so nice bg one of the older employees. The first time it happened I thought maybe they were having a bad day but today took the cake. I walking in 10 min before six. The young lady says we are closing soon I said ok. I need two things. Then a old lady comes yelling from the back we are closed and basically put me out. I was embarrassed. She lied and said the register was closed when I heard the last transaction. It’s ok I will spend my money else where. I have over 50 plants in my house a large majority brought from them. Very disappointed

I really like the West Orange location. They have a great selection, especially for the size of the place. I recently had a problem with a final sale item and Tony refunded me, no problem. The plants are in great condition and you can’t beat their summer sale.

We shopped here today and fell in love with this place. Bought a beautiful lamp, two outdoor plastic Adirondack chairs and a tree❣️All for $159.❣️😁 If I didn’t live so far away, I’d have filled my vehicle with plenty more. We will return one day soon❣️😁

A very well maintained nursery with many variety of plants, flowers, trees planting and garden supplies. Free parking.

I love Metropolitan Plant Exchange! After moving to WA state, I still use their website to send flowers (even last minute 😅) to my parents back home in NJ and the delivery/communication is always spot on and they always love the flowers they receive.
I wish there were a few more photos of the different arrangement sizes on the site, but as a former florist, I can figure out how my options might turn out and I've never been disappointed with what's been delivered. And I'm sure any questions you have can be answered via phone.
If you're sending flowers to anyone in Jersey I will always recommend MPE 💐💐 -
Love the staff! All are super sweet and helpful. I don’t live close by so I have a little tradition with my boys. We visit once every spring where we enjoy looking at their beautiful plants and fountains. Make a few purchases. Afterwards we head over to nearby huge playground.
They have great quality flowers and displays. The experience makes up for the higher price. . Help keep the mom and pop shops open ! -
They were great. My sister passed away a few years ago. She would spend hundreds of dollars for flowers 🌷.This was her favorite place to shop. She could name everyone of them, and their were many. Thank you for remaining open all these years. Loving Metropolitan.

We've been regular customers for many years. This is our go-to spot for all of our gardening needs. The only downside is that the staff is a little too annoying/aggressive(?) about closing time. Bad enough they close at 6pm (for those of us that work it's gives a slim chance to get there) but they start to warn you about 15/20 before and by 5:50 they warn about closing - not to mention that the garden center is closed off way before 6pm. Not a good feeling to feel so rushed. I understand everyone wants to go home, but if they close at 6 they shouldn't be rushing people out the door 10/15 mins before closing time.

Metropolitan plant has very healthy plants! They have been around a long time and continue to carry very unusual items and beautiful gifts. They are pricey but their sales are good! They carry just about everything ... Beautiful planters and fountains! It's worth the trip just to look at all the unique items .

This was the single worst customer experience I’ve had in years. The general manager came out to help with a bouquet I wanted for Mother’s Day. This was three days after the holiday, but there were still flowers in the place to buy and vases to put them in. The bouquet I asked for, with peonies, the manager told me wouldn’t work. She argued from the moment she walked over to help. I consented to her recommendation on a bouquet, but then when I asked her to put them in a vase, she said she couldn’t sell me any because Mother’s Day had depleted her vase supply. Never mind there were vases everywhere in the store. It was so bizarre. We just wanted to buy the things she had for sale right there in the the store. She just didn’t want to sell any of it. My in laws have lived in this county in NJ for three generations and have grown up going to this place. But when we told them of this experience, they referred us to Linda’s or Emerald Garden and told us they stopped coming to Metropolitan years ago due to the customer service. Wow. Way to keep up the customers, general manager.

I ordered roses for my beautiful Mothers birthday and the staff here had the order beautifully designed & looking amazing. Diane & her staff went above & beyond. I could not be happier. Thank you for a job well done. I will for sure be ordering again in the future.

They had a small amount of culinary herb plants it's more for the outdoor but a really great place. The people were very helpful and interactive. Will go back for other things, though, now that I know there's more for decoration😈😈😈😈
