Electrical reviews in Wharton, New Jersey

I recently had the pleasure of working with Paxos Electric and the experience exceeded my expectations from start to finish. From the initial consultation to the final installation, their team demonstrated a high level of professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for customer satisfaction.
What stood out immediately was their responsiveness. They scheduled an appointment promptly and arrived exactly on time—something that’s increasingly rare these days. The technicians were courteous, respectful of my home, and took the time to clearly explain the work that needed to be done. I never felt rushed or pressured; instead, they made sure I understood my options and felt confident in the decisions being made.
The quality of the work itself was outstanding. Everything was completed efficiently and with great attention to detail. They followed all safety protocols, kept the workspace clean, and ensured everything was functioning perfectly before they left. It’s clear they take pride in their craft.
Pricing was also fair and transparent. There were no hidden fees or surprises—just honest, upfront estimates and great value for the service provided.
Overall, I would highly recommend this electric company to anyone in need of reliable, high-quality electrical work. It’s refreshing to find a company that combines technical skill with excellent customer service. I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again for future projects. -

I called to make an appointment and was told it would be 5-7 days. They have great reviews so I was willing to wait. I texted twice, no response. Called today and left a voicemail. I was finally called back and was told they 'just' got in touch with the owner and there is a one month waiting list! Why waste my time for a week if you didn't even speak to anyone about scheduling?

Called last week and my job is already finished. Called 10 others with a "3 week waiting list" Paxos gave me a great price and got the job done. They can do ANY size job you want very very large or even a small job at the house.

Came out due to a few minor issues in our house. The one they changed the lightbulb and claimed the problem was fixed (3 weeks later surprise surprise, the light doesn't work again). Another issue they claimed they want to get a part needed, but returned hours later stating they couldn't get the part but we have to pay for them travelling. Ended up overcharging us and the technician on location (though very nice) said that it wasn't his call but his bosses on the phone.
So 1 star per problem fixed out of a total of 5 problems we had with lighting/fixtures in our house. Not bad but next time they've inspired me it'd be easier/cheaper to take a day off and figure it out instead -
I want to start off by saying that so far, we are satisfied with the work done. We had a combination of central air and ductless mini-splits installed, and Paxos did the electrical. So far, so good. Can't say the same about the pricing. We were given a day rate of $960, plus supplies (which came out to less than $200) for the job, yet the initial estimate was for $2000. We called Mike to discuss, and he explained that he liked to build in a cushion for the estimate just in case his crew (two guys) ran into any difficulties with the job (trouble getting through concrete, etc.) He wasn't sure if they'd be able to finish in one day. Plus, the day rate was for a 6-hour day, which was changed to 8 hours after we protested. We thought this was all a bit strange, but this is the electrician our AC installer uses, so we thought it best to stick with him. The day of the job, the two-man crew arrived at the house around 8 AM. Seemed like nice enough guys, and they got to it. My wife stopped by a little after noon and asked one of the guys how it was going. He basically said, "I think OK; I just do what they tell me." So this guy was not the master electrician on the two-man crew. When my son got home around 3, they were done and gone. So, they were at the house for 7 hours, and including time at the Paxos shop (we were told the clock started ticking on our day rate when the guys showed up at the shop in the morning to load up the van), we were within the 8 hours for the day rate. But when we got the invoice, it was for $1500 with an included $250 discount. We asked why it was so high, given that it was a one-day job, and Mike explained that he also showed up at the house for a few hours (sometime around the times my wife and son were there and after I left in the morning) to help out so they would finish the job in one day. And, of course, we had to pay for that. Except we were under the belief we were paying a DAY rate, not an hourly rate. And why would we pay to have two master electricians on the job? My wife's father is a retired master electrician and none of this made sense to him OR us. Mike explained he had given us a $250 discount as an accommodation, but the $1750 price made less sense than the $1500 cost. Bottom line is, Mike showed up for the job on his own, and while we appreciate that the job was done well and in one day, we did not know it was going to cost extra to have him there. And that's because we agreed to a day rate for the crew, not an hourly rate. But Mike's explanation basically was that he needed to make money on the job, so his involvement was extra. We went back and forth a bit but we were going in circles, and for the $200 or so we felt we were overcharged we decided to cut our losses and just pay the invoice. If you use these guys, be sure you get a VERY clear estimate up front, and make sure all possible additional charges are explained in advance. We even had other contractors we use tell us to pay the amount we felt was right, and let Paxos have to go through small claims court for the balance if they wished, but we ultimately decided to pay. 3 stars because the work was done well, but I'd rather give them 2.5 with 2.5 taken off as an "accommodation."

I've used Paxos for all of my electrical work for years both for my commercial and residential properties. I could not be happier with their work. They have installed multiple generators for me as well as general electrical work. They are professional and very fair with their pricing. I would highly recommend them.
