Our experience with CBS Chimney Sweepers was professional, efficient and a complete pleasure from start to finish. The receptionist was friendly, pleasant and efficient on the phone, taking down our information and answering all of my questions quickly and with ease. Ben the sweep arrived on time, made no mess and was able to not only clean and inspect our chimney but also make some repairs at the same visit. I highly recommend CBS Chimney Sweeps in general and Ben in particular.

Jonah was professional and informative and represented his company well. He showed up on time, explained what he would be doing and went to work. He protected my carpet and hearth and prepared the fireplace opening so that no soot would escape the firebox during cleaning. He did a great job of cleaning up before he left. I highly recommend Jonah and CBS for your chimney cleaning needs.

Fantastic job done by Will. He was professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. We were getting errors on our QuadraFire, and Will cleaned the entire system and fixed our issue.

I have used this company in the past and the cleaning was done to my expectations.
Most recently, though, I had a scheduled appointment that was canceled. In all fairness, they asked me to call and verify the day prior. I was working and unable to confirm. They proceeded to give the appointment to another customer despite my confirmation the following morning.
I was told that I was called 3 times and sent a text message asking for confirmation. My phone log shows a single missed call and no text message. It was not stated that my appointment would be canceled in the voicemail if I did not confirm the same day.
I will no longer support this business due to unprofessional handling of customers.

I've used CBS for several years now and am disappointed that I have to write this negative review. I called a month ago to schedule an appointment. They scheduled me for Tuesday, 11/8, no time confirmed. We had to take the day off from work to make sure someone would be home, but come Tuesday morning, we still hadn't been given a time of arrival. I called, got put on hold, then got dropped, and called back, only to be told that their "computer systems were down," and they couldn't confirm any appointments and that they would call back in an hour. Well, 4 hours later, I called back again to follow up and was told the same thing. I asked the office manager for the owner (Gilbert Gonzales) to call me--she said she'd tell him, but no call back from him either. I gave them the week to reach out to reschedule. They never did. I called back again today (Saturday), only to learn that they can't get me in until next Friday. They made no attempt to account for their missed scheduled service or to recognize the huge financial burden put on us with missed work.

Unfortunately, this place lost my business for their lack of customer service care. Truth be told, they also owe me and my wife a day's pay because we took off of work to wait for them on Tuesday. Never again.
Next time go with Amrak.

Mike Gonzales recently made two trips to our home. Each time he thoroughly completed each task.
Mike was friendly and eager to explain the work he was involved in.(it’s a dirty job) He left the work area clean when he was done.He gave us excellent service. Thanks

Love these guys! They were upfront, honest and flexible in working with me to get my pretty dilapidated 100-year-old chimney back in working order. We also used their sprinkler and yard maintenance business to repair our sprinklers and re-sod our backyard. More than satisfied every step of the way. I highly recommend!

Mike Gonzalez came the day I called, was completely professional and very competent and friendly. Got chimney cleaning done well and without any mess, coached me on maintenance of stove insert in fireplace. Just terrific. Love doing business with good local talent.

I recently used (9/15/21) CBS Chimney for a fireplace/chimney cleaning and inspection. They showed up on time and cleaned/inspected my chimney like I asked. I was told from the inspection that my flue and smoke chamber needed work and that there were two options to correct this.... One option was a steel lined flue, and the other a "Heatshield" coating. The Tech said he would email me the estimates. I received one estimate for the "Heatshield". I called back and asked if they could send me the steel lined estimate and was informed that I would have to pay a service charge for them to come back out to my house to measure. I said I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for them to come back out and that they should have measured the first time. The receptionist was very nice and said that she would have to ask the owner to send someone out without me being billed. I never heard back from them... hence the one star review.

Update (10/6/21). I previously gave CBS a one star review but decided to change it. I did this because the owner responded to this review and sent someone out for the other estimate free of charge. I appreciate a company/owner who follows up with a dissatisfied customer... hence the five star review.

Very pleasant experience from start to finish. The scheduling with Ariana was easy and she was very friendly. David was punctual for our chimney cleaning, professional and personable.

I have used CBS for 10+ years. Mike is very knowledgeable, professional, honest and fair. He is always on time and goes above and beyond with every job he does, he even custom built a brick wall for the back of my pellet stove. Thanks, Mike for always doing a GREAT, job, we appreciate you so much, looking forward to the next 10.

Mike has taken care of our multiple fireplaces and dryer vent during most of the past 20 years. He trouble-shoots emerging problems as our house ages, and keeps everything safe and working well. I cannot recommend him strongly enough.

A service call was just completed at my residence on a freestanding pellet stove that has not worked in five weeks. Service technician Mr. Benjamín Stirling was well within the scheduled service window and was very respectful and polite.

He listened attentively and carefully, then asked questions to ensure a proper understanding of the issues I was having.

Mr. Stirling took great care to keep the work area protected and clean from the soot and ash residue. He completed the repairs with parts I provided and cleaned the entire stove and chimney system with ease being very detailed in his cleaning. I don't know if the stove was ever that clean when it was new.

Mr. Stirling answered all my (numerous) question and gave me tips to properly and safely operate my stove.

I Am very grateful to Mr. Stirling for his technical expertise, knowledge, and professionalism.

I would like to also thank the ladies in the front office, for their warm, cheerful and caring demeanor while scheduling my service request.

If I could humbly request that the company consider a customer "Sign up" system for regular scheduled maintenance, much like HVAC companies in Albuquerque have for annual A/C and Furnace pre-use start up. ie. Inspection, cleaning, testing and recommended service, for worn of failing components. Please sign me up for Mr. Stirling service call in June of 2024.

CBS Chimney Sweeps company provided the Best service I've had in the past five years period.

He explained everything he was doing, which we had no knowledge about how the service was going to be and what to expect. He explained every step of the way what he was doing and why. I know sometime we as customers don't take the time to let companies know about their employees, most will only to the time to report the bad ones, but I feel you should know what an asset he is to your organization. Had fireplace insert installed by CBS. Great install, started first fire, explained things well, did a super job, very, very pleased. Bought everything through Mountain West Sales who were also great and helpful. Will refer others to this combo.

We have a chimney that had a serious creosote buildup that had gotten progressively worse through the 12 years since this home was built. This fireplace was used extensively to burn primarily pinon pine. We tried multiple chimney sweeps from Santa Fe over the years, but none had the knowledge/training/products to solve the creosote problem. As a former firefighter, I knew that the problem was serious and we stopped using the fireplace about 3 years ago as we continued to try to find a company to address the issue. CBS has a deservedly stellar reputation and the capability to rectify a problem like ours. But, they were reluctant to come to Santa Fe as they have plenty of available work in Albuquerque. But, we are now selling this home and REALLY needed this fireplace properly cleaned, so I pushed CBS to get them to help. Gilbert (owner) and Mike (his son) determined that the fireplace needed a PCR chemical cleaning. The process required two visits, but the results are truly amazing as verified by the pictures they took with a special chimney camera! I am a very picky Mechanical Engineer who is impressed by their capabilities, as well as their attention to detail and meticulous cleanup. Plus, everyone including the office staff is very professional and responsive. Plainly stated, these are GOOD PEOPLE!

Everyone I have spoken to at CBS chimney has been very kind and professional. I had Ben and another gentleman come do and inspection and cleaning on my fireplaces, they were very nice and professional. Ben came back later to do repairs on my fireplaces to get them in safe working order. I am very pleased with my service this far!

David and Ben did an amazing job cleaning and inspecting our chimney and Fireplace. Very informative, knowledgeable and personable people. We will use them again and highly recommend them.

After the CBS tech completed the cleaning of my wood stove and pipe, he informed me that the pipe distance from the wall is not up to code. I would need a different type of pipe installed in order to operate the stove safely. He said I should not use the stove until that happens and that their company could install the pipe for about 1800.00 plus tax. I appreciate the feedback, but would have preferred he had told me that BEFORE completing the job. I paid 161.76 on something that needs to be replaced, that I can't use, and had unnecessary cleaning.
