Installation of ionizer to forced-air furnace went smoothly today. The technician did a quick job and never mentioned anything about my furnace's condition. However, I received an email afterwards from NOCO which rated my furnace, hot water heater and other things. I'm pretty sure this is just a quasi-scam to get future business saying my furnace was "fair"; my hot water heater was "good". The furnace and other ductwork were put in new 12 years ago and our furnace is checked yearly (Fair?); the technician (who was good and professional) never even went into the room where our hot water heater is located -- and still he could rate it? The last item on the checklist stated: "Please schedule Estimate for Replacement" for me to respond. If there was a problem with any of the equipment, I would have expected the technician to show any problems, especially for the "fair" rating for the condition of my furnace. I only gave a 3-star rating because of the apparently misleading e-mail "checklist" from NOCO.
