It looks like I’m not the only one who has experienced horrible service here. Ya know it’s sad that I just read a review that was almost two years old and it was the same exact problem that I had here today! It was giving racist vibes seriously. Please DON’T go here!

Most plants are dead, covered in insects, fungus.. they walk away from you when you ask questions and then try to tell you plants with obvious signs of disease are perfectly fine, to turn around, say its fungus and try to sell you products you already have at home instead of helping you find a solution 🤷‍♀️ i dont get why have a garden store if you get bothered by people asking questions!

I don't care how good the products are. it's not worth dealing with rude people, especially in NY, with so many other options.

Excellent selection. All customers wore masks and the employees were polite and helpful. Reasonable prices for the quality of plants they offer.

I always prefer to support local businesses... but I think I am giving up on this one ... bad customer service... beautiful plants and expensive... and because of the bad customer service I think I assumed I got plants for indoors and went bad right away ... I was back today to buy some more and try to ask questions but they are rude so I just left and I said not any time soon !

Great place to get all your planting done. from soil to trees to shrubs the general flowers. little pricey$$$. but guys been there at least 70 years in business

Terrible customer service. I started to buy six small plants after I was told the total price, I realized I did not have enough money. He started to put the plants away and I told him I would take three. His reply was the plants are not for sale to me they were sold? Very rude with a terrible attitude. Never should be dealing with the public!!

Owner is rude and has overpriced item from the stuff I seen outside. Closing time shows 4:30pm and I was outside the shop 4:20 and was told they are closed while there is a sign outside saying they close 4:30. He stated they close 4:15, okay so you have to update your hours then. Save the time and money and go somewhere else where they will appreciate your business. and they open 9 not 730.

I was quite impressed with this garden center. They have such a wide variety of every type of plant you can imagine and everything is labeled. They also have a huge selection of pots which is nice. I've been searching the internet for years for a small rectangular pot to fit on a very small window sill with no luck and I finally found one here. I highly recommend.

An old style garden center. Competitively priced well stocked shelves. Kind of a fun place to visit if you are into gardening as I am. I get the impression that this garden center has been here since the stone age, err at least the 1980's I think. This is the type of establishment that you can feel comfortable walking into with a dead bug, and ask the folks there what it is, and how to deal with it. While Home Depot or Lowes might "Kick off the Spring sales on garden and potting soil", They will never be able to offer the free advice that a real garden center has to offer. So if your in the area (LGA, Bulova, Etc...) and enjoy gardening, a stop at Vernies is well worth the trip.

Owner is very rude. Employees are kind enough to help however. The owner knows that the gardeners in my area don't have anywhere else to go. The price is a little high indeed. They have a good collection to support your garden. But the owner really needs to improve his customer care.

I decided to put flowers or plants on my apartment's balcony and went to Verni's on the recommendation of Wirecutter. Great suggestion. I received excellent advice on what to buy and what to avoid, how to care for it, and how to set it up. The prices are reasonable, too. Highly recommend!

Why they lose a star? I asked for one of those thin plastic pots from a pile of leftovers when I purchased something, and they tried to charge me $3 for something they got for free. Uncool.
