Mike and his team have been working on our house for a few years now. They have fixed numerous (very bad) leaks, tiled our kitchen floor, built out our basement (they flipped the stairs around, I didn't even know that could be done), reconstructed our gutter, among other big jobs. We have a great relationship with Mike and trust him with keys to our house. He has made himself available last minute in the evenings and sometimes on holidays to help us with emergencies. We plan on continuing to work with Mike on any and all changes we make to the house.

Michael came in and restored our basement after a burst pipe flooded and damaged our walls and flooring. He was extremely courteous, professional, and most of all incredibly transparent about his process and decison-making. The project was finished within a week on-schedule and Michael provided us updates multiple times, daily, while staying available for any questions we had. He made the process easy and I feel spoiled for having a contractor that was so nice to work with! I am also grateful for the post-work service that he's provided on any final touchups and last minute fixes. It's safe to say that I'm completely satisfied with his work and I will definitely be looking to work with Michael on more projects and renovations that my family might have.

We had our bathroom floor replaced, new tile put down, wall tile and tub reglazed, and walls painted. Mike said it might take up to 2 weeks for the work but was able to finish in one week, which saved is from spending extra money on a hotel. He explained everything well and delivered a great-looking bathroom! We are very grateful, and we'll definitely use him again for other work.

My husband and I were looking to do major interior renovations to our single family home and decided to work with Mike in hopes to make the construction process less stressful on ourselves given our busy work schedules.

Mike and his team executed the work professionally, responsibly and on time with an end product that we couldn’t be happier with. Throughout the construction, Mike prioritized maintaining the schedule and worked with us through the construction issues that emerged. Most importantly, Mike provided his insight on the design issues demonstrating a sense of sincerity towards the project. Mike was fair about the payment structure and the billing breakdowns provided made the payment process more translucent.

If we had to be critical, there were a few days during the construction when no work was being performed, given this Mike still managed to deliver the completed project on or before agreed upon timing, we enjoyed Mike and his team’s professionalism and we were satisfied with the end result.

Mike is a professional, someone who delivers on time and for the agreed cost, and someone who clearly cares very much about the quality of his work. He was on site to supervise and advise his crew throughout the job and made a point of returning once it was done to review everything in detail and make sure nothing was overlooked. He's honest, responsible and was always a pleasure to work with. I'm planning some additional home renovations soon and based on the work they just did I will absolutely be working with Excelsior Design and Construction again.

As a first time home owner diving into the world of renovations, Mike made this as easy and seamless a process as possible. I’d never worked with a contractor before and I decided to go with him because it was notable how he stood out for his punctuality, communication and sincerity. This has proven to be consistent throughout the entire process. He and his team have done a great job with my kitchen and bathroom, it’s truly a dream come true. Unexpected renovations issues that popped up (I.e., from me not measuring the width of a door frame to make sure the appliances could fit through them to the recommendation of an additional circuit breaker) was handled thoughtfully; he always checked with me and offered as many potential solutions as possible. I never felt like I was having the wool pulled over my eyes. Overall, a very positive experience and I will definitely work with Mike and his team again!

I am so glad I found Mike and his team....I took a risk and hired him for a basement renovation based solely on his Google reviews. He did not disappoint! He took a lot of care in his work and was thoughtful in his recommendations. While the work ended up taking a bit longer and requiring a bigger budget than anticipated, it was understandable considering that our old basement was not well taken care of and had issues we discovered when walls were taken down (e.g., fraying electrical wires and rotting wood beams). Mike was not pushy about the additions to the budget, but rather acted as a consultant....suggesting different options to solve problems that came up. Mike and his team are trustworthy, reliable, responsive and skilled in what they do. If you are as anxious as I was when I started this job, you can relax now...Mike is your guy! :-)

This is the first time hiring a contractor to do work in my home. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the hard work Mike and his team did for me. I was worried that the washer and dryer
I ordered would not fit in the space provided and that all the work would not be done in time for the delivery of the units. Mike and his team did not disappoint. All the work was completed on a timely basis from the plumbers, electricians etc. Also, we had an issue with our bathroom sink while they were working in my house that was not part of the job and they were able to fix that for me. By delivery day all the work was completed and the team installed the washer and dryer, stacked as promised and ready to go. That evening I was able to catch up on doing my laundry. Can’t say enough good things about Mike and his team. I am very satisfied with his service and I’m sure I’ll be using them again in the future to do work in my home.
