Tom and his boys came and did a trim on my huge tree. They cared about what they were doing. They trimmed all the dead stuff and cut back a lot of the rest. No mess left behind and tree looks so much better. There a family business and no how to do the right thing.

They did an awesome job helping get our property ready for solar panel installation.

We have had Tom give us estimates and then come to trim & prune trees at a rental property we own and at our own home. They were prompt in their response and gave us reasonable estimates for the work we needed done. They were efficient, knowledgeable and left the work site cleaner than when they arrived. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their work to anyone!

We have a Cherry Tree in our back yard that is way over a 300 years old. It was in need of pruning and reducing the weight from the trunk. We also had them trim back our neighbors bushes to the property line. They did an amazing job. I will definitely be calling again for any future work that we need!

I rarely leave reviews, but I was very impressed with Woody Tree Service. They are EXTREMELY professional and our job was executed perfectly.

I wish I could say that I had the same experience as ste ven (was his a "larger" job, who knows). Joe came promptly and seemed knowledgeable - I was impressed. After two unreturned calls, I caught up with him after my third call trying to book the "appointment" (the unresponsiveness should have been my first clue, but he had the best price and he seemed really nice). Then, it was he might come one day , if not, another, but he would call to confirm (on a big job - my job was small). It goes without saying that none of these three things happened: didn't show up either day and never called to explain the no-show. I don't typically write reviews, but this lack of consideration is a bit much. If you don't want the job, just say so.

It was a pleasure working with you, Joe. Our job was unavoidably delayed, and had to be completed when we were out of town. What a pleasure to return home to see everything accomplished so professionally and the property cleaned up and in neat condition.

Honest, and knowledgeable. This guy is busy. Probably because he is very good at what he does. Came and did the work as described. Even had to take off a couple of extra limbs that were cracked. Didn't charge anything extra. At the end of the day there was a very minor issue that he had to take care of. He said he would come back in 2 days to do it. He didn't ask to get paid for the work he performed or try to negotiate to get paid some of the money owed to him. Came back that very same day addressed the issue and got paid. That tells you he cares about his work just as much as getting paid. Very rare nowadays.

Will was quick to respond to my request for a stump removal. I tried so many ways on my own to get rid of it and eventually decided to hire a pro. It was gone within days after making the call. Highly recommended

Watched a Woody crew take down a 4 story tree from a front yard on 9th St. Brooklyn. Having swung a chain saw myself a bit, I was impressed with the safety, efficiency & speed. A very well coordinated crew. They had it down in what seemed like minutes, logged, chipped & cleaned up so you could hardly tell anything happened at all.

All of the workers were very professional and all were very skilled arborists. They worked fast and efficiently and did a great job. We were extremely pleased and we will be using their services again. We highly recommend them!

I called Woody’s tree service in Glen Cove. A tree had fallen in my driveway. They answered right away and were here in half hour. They were courteous and professional. Top notch!! I highly recommend them. Try them out. It’s hard to find people you can trust and are reliable. Great Company!!!

Definitely recommend Woody’s tree service. They are knowledgable, hard working and incredibly nice to deal with. They are also reasonably priced. Will definitely use them again in the future.

Joe and his crew were execellent. They arrived ahead of schedule and removed a large tree (and stump) in a difficult spot. They fully prepped the site to protect my patio and did a meticulous clean up before leaving. Highly recommend! I will be using them in the future for sure

We have now used Woody Tree for five different projects on our property, over a span of about six years. Every time, the work has been done extremely-professionally and has exceeded our expectations. After years of working with them, I understand why the proprietor, Joe, is the go-to guy on the North Shore for local governments (for advice and emergency work), owners of big estates, and even movie studios. (Twentieth Century Fox hired him recently to turn an overgrown forest on an estate they were using as a movie set into a beautiful, pristine wooded driveway.) His bread and butter is still regular folks' properties, and I know he loves to help his community by offering free tree inspections no matter how big or small one's property is.

I found Joe by a recommendation from a local businessowner that I trust. I asked him to come look at the trees on our property to make sure that nothing was going to fall on the house. Joe looked at all the trees near the house, and said they were fine. He is a Certified Arborist, and talks fluently and intelligently about different trees by name, and can tell you which ones are indigenous and which ones had been added by someone as landscaping, what kinds of soil each likes, how long they are likely to live and what may cause them problems, etc. A walk through the property with him is just fun.

Concentrating on the trees around the house, Joe said that none were a threat, but had some long-term ideas about cleaning out and pruning trees in the dense woods not directly near the house. He described what we could do, but said it wasn't necessary or urgent. As he was leaving, one tree caught his eye. He said that this was a dangerous tree that was likely to fall in the next big storm, and proposed to take it down ASAP. When Joe took this giant tree down, I had him save a few slices from the trunk, because it was thoroughly rotten all the way through the core. This was, as it turned out, just a few months before Sandy, and there is no doubt that it would have fallen on our house.

When I say "Joe" took the tree down, that is the other great thing about his service. You walk through the property with him, and then he, not some crew from out of state, comes back with his huge bucket truck (and a local crew) to do the work.

After this good experience, we asked him o do a large project, aesthetically-pruning a lot of trees and shrubbery, and addressing all the trees in our woods on one side of the property. His work was a good value: we noticed how carefully and thoroughly he worked, leaving bird sanctuaries in place way up high in some of the trees, and ultimately making a spectacular difference in the property's appearance. He also recommended a long-term plan to add some new trees, which we have done in a few phases. We are so happy we did, because they have grown just as he said!

In another project, Joe cleaned out an area by our driveway, and added ground cover and some beautiful small trees. He even knew of a low shrub that would grow by the house where nothing else ever had, even the plants suggested by a famous nursery. That area now looks beautiful!

I appreciate that Joe never tries to push anything, but is clearly working to establish a relationship over the long haul. He builds trust by doing those little extras that others would just let go. It is fun to watch him up high in his bucket truck, carefully-choosing where to prune the trees. He has given us a property that looks beautiful, with a forest that will grow happily and safely for another decade. In short, Woody Tree Service provides quality, extensive knowledge, and value. By explaining to us what we had and how we could showcase it best, Joe has made us prouder of and more knowledgeable about our beautiful property and its history.
