Appliance Repair reviews in Oceanside, New York

I have had to use this company more than once. Not only have the repairs been completed the honesty and professionalism go a long way.

Came to the house the day after I called. Fixed the dryer switch in short order. Price was reasonable. Would definitely use them again.

When I set up appointment woman on phone sounded so annoyed I was trying to get help like it was 915 am and she was already annoyed. Made me not even want to give business to the company.

I called The Appliance Doctor when my gas stove was not functioning properly the day before Thanksgiving. They were super! I explained the problem and did what they told me. Not only was the problem gone but they explained to me why I had the problem!!! Appliance Doctor is wonderful!! I can’t recommend this company enough!!

Appliance Dr was great. The came the same day and fixed my washing machine the same day. They were very polite. I was very happy with their service!!

They showed up exactly when they said they'd be here - diagnosed the problem with my freezer quickly, and fixed it. This was a potentially messy job. A lot of ice had to be removed from the freezer. They left my house cleaner than they found it and they were very fair. I could not be happier.

I called Appliance Doctor to fix the freezer portion of a less-than-five-year-old refrigerator for my tenant which was cooling but no longer freezing during the heat wave we experienced in July 2012. The freezer evidently had a broken fan motor which needed replacing; he had the replacement part in his van and fixed the freezer in no time. This service wasn't provided for nothing, but the freezer got fixed quickly and for that I am grateful. It certainly beat the alternative of replacing the whole refrigerator!

Called for a repair spoke to a representative when I asked if they can't fix the problem would I get my deposit back he told me I would not at that point I said well if you haven't fixed the problem why would you keep 95 dollars and am left with my problem not being fixed he said that's how it goes and told me to go out there and see how the real world works! Wow what a professional...scratch them off! Next ....

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! My elderly mother is nearly 80 years old. Her freezer was working but made noise. She had too many items in front of the fan and needed to defrost the freezer. This company came in, chipped away some ice and charged her $200!!! They did no repairs or replacements. $200 from an elderly woman that trusted them. VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. Use another company. Don't waste your money
UPDATE - The owner called in response to this review and said "next time call Sears." Follow his advice. Call Sears. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Using the Appliance Doctor is literally throwing money down the drain. Don't do it. -
Don't look any further when your appliance stops working. This is a great company. I call them whenever I have a problem with an appliance. They're professional and friendly. I've been using them for a number of years and decided to write a review after a recent visit to my home.
The technician that comes to my home (Dr. Chris) is professional and knowledgeable. No one wants to be inconvenienced by broken appliances, but the Appliance Doctor will have things working again in no time. -
My dryer was making funny squeaking noise. They were in and out in 30 minutes. They checked out my dryer, had the parts they needed and fixed it. Clean, professional and personable. Will definitely call them again.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a repair company. After the men looked at my Frigidaire oven they said they would get back to me about repair price. Within 10 minutes after they left they called me and said no part was available to fix the oven. I told them I would check with another repair company. The other repair company repaired my oven and charged me 1/3 of the cost that Ron said he was going to charge me if he could get the part.Ronny and his secretary harassed me for over a week in order to get their service monies even though they did not service my oven. They were rude to a senior and I do not recommend this company.

Two guys came fully masked wiped their feet at the door introduced themselves to me. I then took them to the laundry room showed them what was wrong with the dryer. They proceeded to take the dryer apart and fixed the problem. But they advised me that I was going to need a new one soon. They cleaned up their mess and left. Very nice and professional.

I was very happy and glad we used The Appliance Doctor in Oceanside. Dr. Ronny and the whole team were very professional, on time and gave me the service on the same day I called. They explained everything as they were doing it and quickly fixed my washing machine. I would highly recommend them.

I spoke to Ron, the owner, after his technician, Steve, charged my friend Helen $80 for a Samsung refrigerator repair he couldn't do. The problem was immediately apparent (a plastic hinge). Steve spent less than 10 minutes looking for the part online, then gave up and charged her $80 for nothing. He told her the part was discontinued and unavailable. She's 85 years old and lives in Freeport on Social Security, taking care of her adult disabled daughter. Ron defended his technician, Steve, and rudely said "everything costs so much these days that we have to pass it along to our customers." He refused to give even a partial refund. So I went online myself, and it took me about a half hour to find and order the part (cost $3 dollars). Then I went to Helen's house and installed the part myself with just a screwdriver - in less than 15 minutes. And, oh yeah, after I got the part, I called Ron again and he wanted $160 just to install it! A $3 dollar part! 100% God's truth! -- YOU be the judge!

I always assume when I call appliance repair, I'm going to get screwed over. But not with these guys. Always professional. Sometimes tell you when you don't want to hear, but very trustworthy and knowledgeable.

We had a broken door latch on our Maytag dishwasher. We called in the morning and that day a service technician came to the house to check it out. They had to order the part, but he was back the next day to complete the service on time and at the estimated cost. The technician was courteous and a total professional Hight recommend Appliance Doctor for all your repairs!

Use any other company instead. AD does not stand behind their contracts or their work and they apparently use defective parts. They repaired our microwave in 9/21 by changing a control board. It was back to the same issue within 18 months and they want to charge new fees to repair again although they advertise "high-quality parts that have been crafted with durability in mind, ensuring long-lasting and effective functionality" enabling us to "avoid the repetitive expenses of purchasing new components or the services of a technician to install them." This is completely false advertising and unacceptable.
