Hired by duke energy to clean power lines was supposed to knock on door did NOT. About three days ago I had a new gate built for the side of my yard that is 5’ wide. Instead of using that they plowed a machine threw the other side that was NOT secure and obviously compromised due to poor weather conditions from hurricane season. They took down boards from a fence in the front yard and hit my mailbox. When confronted they said they did not know English but then bent the mailbox back into place. When I called there corporate number I was told to call the police if I was that unhappy with there services. Poor poor service.I can not stress how UNPROFESSIONAL this company is no wonder they have such bad reviews and with that statement im sure this review is going to fall upon deaf ears with them but hopefully it will help anyone out there needing tree service. RUN!

I would never hire this company if their service is anything like how their employees drive the company truck. I live in Florida, just north of Sarasota, and was almost hit by a company truck. This lunatic almost side-swiped me getting onto 75 from 301 in Ellenton, then proceeded to swerve into my lane and almost hit me again. I witnessed him tailgating other drivers, almost re-end 2 other people, and be a total jerk to other drivers. I plan to tell everyone I know to avoid this company and never hire them to do anything. It's one thing to drive your personal vehicle like this, but to have total disregard for other people while driving a company truck with their logo on the side shows absolute disrespect for the company you work for and their property. How do you think they will treat your property if they don't even care about their own!?

They were rude and unprofessional. I have tree service background this company was not what I was though or done. Neither worker knew English.

ABSOLUTE TRASH! This company was hired by Duke Energy to trim trees near the power lines. Instead of Tree Service they should be called Butchering Service. How do they just show up and totally destroy all of our privacy trees, our garden and plants?! These two guys asked for access to the backyard and my husband thought they were with the energy company. Before you know it, they start going crazy with their saw. They didn’t even tell us that’s what they were going to do. Instead of cutting from the top, they went straight from the branches and now we have a bare yard with no privacy. They even left a bunch of full sized branches in our backyard and our neighbors house. Then they just left! No explanation, no nothing. They won’t even pick up the trash they left bc they said Duke should handle it and Duke said Lewis should and everyone’s giving us the run around. Absolutely terrible company with no professionalism or ability to trim trees properly. We left voicemails and they took over a week to respond. Only to say they’re not responsible for anything. Hired by the power company to do transmission lines in a field near my house. I’m set way back in the woods and usually gated off. they decided to park in my driveway with out telling us. these lines are not to our house by any means. Where they parked is where I cleaned it out the night before for a delivery of maple equipment that I paid $225 for the delivery to have it delivered and it got rejected due to the truck being in the way and no space for the boom to set my tanks. So this costed me 4 days till they can get back out here and another $225. Would have been completely different if they came up and asked we would have been accommodating and made it work. Instead they were 10mins from getting their truck manually relocated.

At least I got a $225 sorry from them.

They must take pride in earning terrible reviews but since they maintain contracts with utility companies they are unfortunately able to keep income flowing. They either have zero interest in pruning trees correctly or just don't know any better. They constantly "top" young ornamental trees along roadways that have no chance of threatening power lines, and they "top" other mature trees that end of dying; the trees lining our roads look like trash wherever Lewis Tree Service has touched them. They have ruined my driveway more than once, and when they are not ruining it (dragging a bush hog blade too close to the gravel) they make a muddy mess by staging their vehicles ON my driveway instead of along their right-of-way. Zero professional, zero regard for the quality of the work they do, and if I could leave a zero-star review I would.

Lewis Tree service Inc., was apparently contracted by the power line company or state to trim trees back from the power lines running across my property. Our only notice was the knock at the door apron their arrival. The individual I was left to communicate with spoke very limited or broken English and the other apparently spoke none at all, leaving a major barrier to any kind of clear communication. The contact point over the phone claims that these gentlemen are supposed to be “Arborists “ but at Dr seeing what’s left of the tree in my front yard I find that very hard to believe. As my wife made me aware of the butcher job they were performing on my tree, I attempted to ask them to at least try to do a balanced trimming of the tree opposed to the hack lobe they were doing. This only led to them making it worse by cutting away nearly all of my tree. We would have been better off had they simply removed the entire tree. I understand ,for safety purposes, that trimming has to be done but there has got to be some kind of standards set beyond just sending some random guys with a lift truck and chainsaws to butcher these trees and ruin my property. This is the second time we’ve had this happen. We had a large, beautiful tree in our backyard that had a third of the side tree hacked off last year or the year before. I mean it looked like someone took a giant butcher knife a just the side off of the tree. I’m not one concern myself that much with things like property values, but do like to come home to a nice looking yard. Now I will pulling into my driveway next what is left that tree saddened. My wife is devastated , crying as she was trying to get some kind of reasonable explanation for this.

I read some of the reviews before I posted. It seems a lot of employees are not happy with the way they are treated. Well maybe that’s why the employees basically destroyed my property and didn’t say anything. My AC condenser was hit by equipment leaving a huge hole and causing all the Freon to leak out on the hottest day in August. They also rolled a piece of equipment around my mobile leaving scratches and tire marks on the side. There were also scratches on the side of my shed. I didn’t even know that Oncor had hired tree trimmers to come out. Only found out after a neighbor informed me. I filed a claim with Oncor and had to wait till they figured out which tree trimming contractor was the one hired for my area. I have been dealing with Lewis Tree trimming for almost two months. They finally sent it to Risk Management which is located in New York?! I have not received call backs multiple times. Think they just thought I would go away! Valerie the risk management person was especially horrible about returning calls. She took almost 3 weeks to get back to me and that was only after I contacted Oncor and the Lewis tree trimming in Dallas area about why she had not called me back when she said she was going to. She basically said we are denying your claim! How is somebody in New York deciding something in Texas through pictures! I’m pretty sure the Dallas office knows what happened. But they have to abide by Valerie. So I am stuck with a 5000 AC condenser replacement. I would never hire this company. And have told property management if anybody is going to be doing work behind my mobile I need to be informed so I can be home. Cameras will be installed after I pay off this huge unexpected bill
