I went there today to save my plant baby. He needed to be repotted. Service was quick and professional. Definitely will return for more plants.

These guys are thieves. Sold me a. Expensive plant, told me I did not need warranty and the plant was sick. I tried to go back to them and did not resolve anything. Do no go near this place . They will rob you. Horrible.

Purchased a number of Green Giant Arbies and in less than 6 months, half of them dried up. I called them, hoping that if I couldn't return them, they would atleast exchange them. No such thing is possible because supposedly they didnt install them. Their installation would have made no difference as all trees were installed the same way and only half went bad. The guy on the phone even admitted it that they would have probably installed them the same way. I don't see a reason to buy from them again, especially given that there are no guarantees. I will take my business to an established chain, like Home Depot or Costco, so that I can return stuff if they have any issues.

Manager/owner of the place is really helpful. He is typically inside the office behind the sales counter. The sales person...probably new and lacked some basic producy knowledge but she was willing to ask and also was very polite.

Got 1.5 yds of soil..some hay ..fertilizer and grass seeds.

Their prices are very reasonable compared to other nurseries I have visited

The staff are all super friendly and helpful. They answered all of my questions and my young son's questions too. Lol! They have a great selection of plants and planters that are reasonably priced. I'll be back!

I like Windy Farms; they always try to please. We have been buying our Christmas wreath there for the last 8 years. We have also bought plants from them. Today we went to get our wreath and also bought a healthy succulent. Thank you Windy Farms for being so helpful.

Went in the shop and asked about a product and the lady acted like she didn’t want to come pick it off the shelf. Then I asked her if it was food grade she walks away and says “I don’t know you gotta read the package”. I left the plants I was about to buy and left. Service is traaaaaash.

Friendly and very helpful. Good selection and more important healthy plants. Prices are pretty much the same as the big box improvement stores. Will visit again.

I brought a couple of bushes and ect. Everyone I came into contact with was very friendly. They even carry my plants to the car. The prices was ok. I know higher than other places but remember they specialize in plants not tools so you are buying a better grade of plants from them. It's been a couple of months my plants are thriving ✨️

Recently moved into the area and was looking for my closest nurseries. It was this one. I was pleased at the variety, and customer service they provide. Very helpful! From the people outside to the lady at the register. I've been going there frequently lately. I love it! A little pricey, but what can I do?! My husband will not go in the shop with me though, because he says it stinks like cat piss. I agree, but they are just so nice, I can't be that customer. I've smelled worse... Lol!

Spent $20 on an Uber to get here only to be told the hours on Google are incorrect and they close in 5 minutes. Now Ill be sitting outside for an hour waiting for my ride home.

Plants are reasonably priced and mostly in good health. Some potted plants have rather large weeds growing in them.

This is my preferred garden supplier when im in the Bronx area. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

I needed some top soil delivered and came across this place online. What a pleasure. The person Gigi who helped me over the phone was the most professional and courteous person that I have delt with in a long time. The price was very reasonable and the top soil was in great shape. And the delivery person was very nice too. This is my new go to place for all my garden needs. F Home Depot.

Very friendly and helpful! Called twice in a row after forgetting a question and the woman on the phone was kind and respectful and didn't treat me like I was a hassle. When I got there, she directed me just to what I needed. (She did recommend calling first as web info may not always be accurate depending on the 3rd party website, etc.) Loved the personal service & selection. Reasonable prices. Street parking was easy, although the road is busy, so be patient if you need to cross it.

Great place to buy my bulk tomato plants every year at a reasonable price. Many flowers and shrubs for landscaping can be bought here. 05/28/22

When winter arrives, seeking out bouquets is futile. The trees are not only overpriced but also of disappointing quality. Save your time and resources for a better season.

I visited this nursery for the first time on Sunday, May 15, 2022 and was pleasantly surprised by the extensive space and offerings. I was seriously in awe by all the LARGE selections from annuals, to perennials and even evergreens. These included emerald green arborvitaes boxwoods, and junipers, among many others. The staff were ALL incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful; that’s what I appreciated the most. I went in looking for a specific hosta variety and I can’t believe I actually found it. It is called Minuteman Hosta, which I purchased 5 of, plus 5 dusty millers and 5 white impatiens. For planting, I also found Espoma Starter Fertilizer ☺️ Overall, I am VERY happy with the service and quality of plants in this nursery. I highly recommend it and will be visiting frequently from now on.

Horrid Fence Installation

So, let me begin by saying that I am three years late on this review. I contacted Windy Farms in April of 2021 to install our PVC fence, which was an utter mistake from the onset. First and foremost, they are licensed fence company, but they subcontract the fence services. They hire other people who do not know how to properly install a fence. The people they subcontracted the work to do did not follow Yonkers' code of installing the post, which is at least three feet into the ground. From the finishing of the ifence installation, we have had problems with the fence. Every year, we've gotten strong winds up here, and every year, a panel or two is knocked out. This year, we've had experience with horrible wind and watch four panels come apart just last week Wednesday, and the fence post is literally pulled up out of the ground. We drove around the neighborhood to see if anyone else's fence came apart, and to our amazement , our neighbors fence remained intact. We were the only ones with fence damage due to the negligent and poor fence installation. You can see that the fence posts were cut and installed one foot into the ground. These people take shortcuts and overcharge for poor services. I contacted Windy Farm last week to come and check the fence out, and the Co-Owner mentioned they were going to come out Friday. They never showed up and have been ignoring my husband calls. I DO NOT RECOMMEND WINDY FARM GARDEN CENTER SERVICES under any conditions, and I strongly advise you to beware as well. This isn't just a disgruntled consumer. I am very unsatified with their service, I am mad because we threw 12+ grand down the drain with this company and now have to hire real fencing experts to fix what they failed to do; which was doing it right the first time. If I can leave no stars, it would be an understatement.

The team at Windy Farms did an amazing job with the landscaping at our co-op, including annual cleanup, much installation and planting. They were very reasonable, prompt and courteous. I was thrilled with the entire experience and will have them back to do more work for us. Strongly recommend Jim and his team!

WOW!! I came here today to get flowers for a "cut and come again" mini garden my building is starting. The staff was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, patient and kind. They were very helpful with which plants would work best together, how many would fit correctly in the size planters we have, and which ones would look best in bouquets. The prices are amazing and the selection is much better than the big box stores. I couldn't help but buy some beauties for myself. Their pots are also great and affordable! Shop local :)
