Automated Comfort Systems Heating & AC Repair

My heat quit working so I called a few companies and this company had the cheapest service call price in my area so I chose them to come out. They got to my house quickly and the service tech was friendly and acted professional. Once he was done inspecting the issues he came to the conclusion that I needed a couple parts and a new thermostat due to it being shorted out by an electrical issue and the price was going to be $643 to fix. Parts needed to be ordered and it would have been 2-3 days before they arrived so I didn’t confirm the job right away. Once he was done and left I had another company come out for a second opinion and he determined the parts I was told needed replaced where good other than the thermostat it was bad. He found where a wire was up against copper tubing and grounded itself out so he replaced the wire and the thermostat and even topped off my freon for $344. I saved $300 by getting a second opinion and also got my heat working same day instead of waiting 2-3 days. At the end of the day it was an electrical issue and the first technician was aware it was electrical that was an issue and I understand those can be hard to tract down and find so I don’t think the tech was bad by any means I’m just glad I got a second opinion and saved some money.
