General Contractor reviews in Durham, North Carolina

My neighborhood’s HOA hired this company to perform exterior painting/siding repair as needed on my home.
The company randomly showed up and started performing work, with no notification directly to me, the owner, regarding start dates.
Upon initial ‘completion’, there were several outstanding issues left and I had to work with the HOA to get them back out to fix things that should have been done right the first time.
Wouldn’t recommend hiring for exterior painting.

We have used Bercon multiple times over the years. We value their high-quality workmanship, their reliability, and their integrity. We would not use anyone else.

This crew was neat, punctual and professional. Owners took care to supervise and to respond promptly to any question or issue. I would definitely use again.

Bercon was very prompt in responding to our request for a new slab/patio and did an excellent job of creating it. I highly recommend to others.

A top contracting firm. Did a major home renovation for us and a number of projects since. Have known the family over 40 years. Integrity, quality, dependability.

Bercon does great work! They are great people who communicate well and effectively. I have re-hired them time and again and will continue to do so!

Donnie Berini did a great job of explaining our needs and repairing only what was needed. Brad was great replacing our windows and Felix did awesome job finishing up the painting needs.

Bercon did an outstanding job with some repairs to a home after a home inspection. The work was performed well, communication was great and the price was reasonable. I recommend them for your home repair needs.

I used BERCON to upfit my office space in Durham. From meeting Donny in the beginning and working with my great PMs Rusty and Brad, I cannot speak highly enough about this group. All the subcontractors were great to work with as well. I am so happy with my project results and will use them again for any of my commercial needs in the future. I would show up to my space nearly daily just to see what was going on and every time it was a "Hey, glad you're here how is everything looking? What else can we do?" Thank you all for such a great experience in such a stressful time! This is not the last of me working with you all!

Our company has been using Bercon Contracting for upfit and renovation projects for over 14 years, though I have known the Berini family for more than 40 years. Bercon, started by Donny Berini, mirrors the reputation, quality and tradition of the Berini family’s decades of residential and commercial building in Durham and surrounding communities. Their employees are responsive to our needs and provide us with professional, thoughtful and timely response on all our projects. Having been in the real estate management business in Durham for over 50 years, I could not recommend anyone more highly than Donny Berini and Bercon Contracting.

I have had the pleasure of working with Bercon on several projects from small scale repairs to exterior painting to full-scale renovations. They have been excellent to work with on all projects. Projects have been completed on time, on budget and with great final results. I'd recommend Bercon to anyone looking for all levels of GC work!

We highly recommend Bercon! We recently completed a renovation project with them that involved a layout redesign, a new kitchen, and multiple bathroom updates. Donny was consistently responsive, punctual, and a pleasure to work with. His organization and attention to detail were outstanding. Brad, our project manager, oversaw the day-to-day operations with care and precision. He was thorough, approachable, and committed to ensuring high-quality workmanship throughout. The entire project went smoothly and was completed ahead of schedule. We're extremely pleased with the final result.

If you’re looking for a builder who’s reliable, honest, communicative, and all-around fantastic, look no further than Bercon!

They did an incredible job rebuilding our home after a 22,000-pound tree destroyed it, expertly handling everything—even working with our insurance company to make sure we got the full value of our claim. They finished the project five weeks ahead of schedule, and we were so impressed that we asked them to add a 12x24-foot screened-in porch and integrate it with our outdoor spaces. Once again, they knocked it out of the park!

For both projects, Bercon kept us informed every step of the way—from permits to pricing and everything in between. Their workmanship was outstanding; they used top-quality materials and brought in skilled subcontractors who matched their high standards. There was always someone from the team on-site, and they encouraged us to stop by as often as we wanted making us feel welcome every time.

We can’t say enough good things about the entire Bercon team. From day one, we had each team member’s direct contact info, and by the end of the process, we’d call these guys friends, not just business partners.
